Maybe he assumed she went jogging that day because he lived with her, spoke to her daily and knew she had started jogging again.
She was training for a specific race.
He is married to her and likely knew what her usual day looked like and her usual running path without needing a text message about it. JMO. What unpaid bill are you referring to?

:seeya:

BBM: I did not follow the case here last year at WS - but followed it in the MSM and somewhere else :innocent:

But I do remember reading that she was training for a specific race and that is why she started jogging again.

:seeya: Thank you for clarifying.

I remember reading last year that it was owned by someone they knew -- but did not remember it was his mom.

Oh, but it still makes me wonder WHY purchase a house where your wife was kidnapped right down the road in broad daylight ?

:moo:

I'm wondering if the house was purchased in the traditional sense, or if maybe it was gifted to them? Or transferred into a trust. JMO.

Whatever the case is, I am surprised they continue to live there. I think I would be too scared to go back to that house, not only because it seems like it's somewhat secluded, but also because the kidnappers are still on the loose. Maybe I'm just a scaredy cat though.

Right with ya! :couch::laughing:

The house is KPs childhood home.. owned by his mom... I am not sure if we know the details on if they paid rent or not.

Yes, I thought it was something like that, thought it was the dad's tho...doesn't matter.
Just that her husband worked at Best Buy, and we here on WS were wondering abt their financial situation, and questioning their lifestyle on his wages....if I remember correctly.

Ken said his son had always believed he'd bring his family back together.

Last week he promised their two children, Tyler four and Violet, two, that 'mommy' would be home by Thanksgiving.

Wow. This doesn't even seem believable in the sense that what kind of parent would make such a serious "PROMISE" to his young children (who are no doubt upset greatly that Mommy is missing and don't understand where she is) in the case of his wife having disappeared, abducted, possibly murdered, potentially met some kind of foul play, etc? Most parents don't make promises to their children that they aren't 100% certain they can actually keep. How can a husband make such a promise when he supposedly has no idea where his wife is, has no idea if she's dead or alive? How can he possibly be so certain she'll be home by Thanksgiving? hmmmmmm

Of course, I wouldn't expect anything else. I didn't realize when I posted that it wasn't common knowledge. As I've stated a bunch of times,
it's hard to keep track of what was stated by LE, the WS VI, KP, MSM, and VIs from other forums.
Once I realized, it was too late to edit my post.

BBM: Agree, and that IMO is because of the many inconsistencies of statements made and inaccurate reporting.

Also adding to the confusion IMO is KP over the top/dramatic version of events per SP ... then you have LE's version of events per SP ... but nothing from SP :gaah: So ... do you believe KP version or LE version or both ?

 One needs a "flowchart" to keep track of the statements !

Did LE state that the general public is not in danger. ..with 2 unsavory masked branding kidnappers at large? I thought I read that. .somewhere... Do any of you recall? Thx.

I have not seen LE state that. Actually the opposite. At last year's press conference right, after she was found the Sheriff said this:

Until we identify the suspects, the public should remain cautious. As always, we continue to ask for the public's help. Our call to action is for anyone with information related to Sherri’s abduction, her subsequent release or the identity of the suspects to call their local law enforcement authority. The Shasta County Sheriff's Office has a tip line. That number is active 24 hours a day and that number is 530-245-6135. Callers can also call tips into Shasta County Secret Witness and that number is 530-243-2319.

They did not make any similar statement one way or the other in the recent press release: https://www.co.shasta.ca.us/docs/li...estigation-update---october-2017.pdf?sfvrsn=0

I thought about the possibility that she had scheduled a meet-up/date with someone and it went terribly wrong. However the more I thought about that the less likely it seems, because knowing how image is very important to Sherri I don't think she'd meet up with a date wearing a jogging outfit. That got me thinking...we don't really know for sure what she was wearing when she was abducted. If it was a cute little non-jogging outfit, I guess we won't know because she was returned in sweats. Or...is that the reason she returned in sweats?

As much as my gut tells me we are being told a whopper of a story, there are things that I can't explain to myself.
Unless she planned this out very, very well, as in packing a bag full of things she'd need for three weeks, I don't think she did this to herself.
1. Where would she get hose clamps and chain to apply to herself?
2. Would she think to pack a mysterious sweat suit to be released in?
3. Injuring myself again and again (to include breaking my own nose) over time would be something I couldn't do.
4. Where would she have holed up for three weeks?
5. How would she have gotten food, female hygiene products, etc. if she was hiding herself?
6. How would she have gotten to this hiding place, and back to the drop-off point?
7. Wouldn't she worry about infection setting in to her burns and other injuries?

In my mind, this rules out that she didn't do this herself, alone.
Now, if I consider that she had a partner helping her, I guess those questions are all answered.

I wonder if we will ever know what really happened?

Midge...thanks for this post. Taking your thoughts one step further...if she did have a partner, what would be the motive? Why would anyone in their right mind want to help Sherri do any of this?

Info about who saw her jogging in red. It was reported that the witnesses knew Sherri and saw her jogging wearing that outfit. We can call into question witnesses memory, as they are not always accurate, but this was what was reported. We don't have to base her going jogging only on KP's assumption she went jogging.

But now look at this from the FBI wanted poster:

Details:

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, is asking for the public's assistance regarding the disappearance of Sherri Papini. Prior to her disappearance on November 2, 2016, Sherri was last seen dropping her children off at daycare in the morning. Later that day, Sherri's cell phone was located approximately one mile from her home, but she could not be found."

BBM

I get the hunch LE is backtracking from their original claim that people saw her jogging? I think that's what's going on. (Ridiculous LE is putting out contradictory information here.)

BUT ... IF that cut on the foot happened right after she slammed the abductor's head into the toilet, then taken out of hiding and dropped off by the other abductor AFTER the toilet incident, that cut on the foot would be fresh !

All MOO

:seeya:

I agree. I am of the camp that the cut on the foot is a figment of SP's imagination. I think WHENEVER the cut occurred, on day 1 or day 22, there would be a trace of it that the hospital staff would have noticed.

  • #893
I agree, we don't yet know when in the timeline she slammed the captor's head into the toilet. I have tried to find out, with no luck.
One reason I was wondering is because the cut to her foot she reports was not seen by LE, BUT if that happened early on in the timeline, I think it may have had enough time to heal by the time she was released.
My guess on the toilet thing - never.

Then give both pieces of info the same amount of weight in evaluating them. The "secondary people" making the statements are law enforcement officers working on the case. Why ignore parts of what LE has said and pick and choose only the parts of the story that support a certain theory? I haven't got a clue what happened here, but I'm trying not to ignore anything said by LE as everything said is part of the whole picture. JMO.

I honestly have trouble believing either. LE wasn't there either. I'm still on the wagon that says this was something that went terribly awry, that wasn't supposed to go terribly awry.

No, the same home.
I thought they were renting that home.

The home they were living in at the time of the abduction, I think, was owned by KP's parent's.

We don't have a direct quote from Keith that he promised the kids that "mommy" would be home by Thanksgiving. His dad may have got it wrong.

Even if he did say that to the children I don't feel it rises to the level that shows he is complicit in the disappearance and beating that Sherri endured. JMO

http://www.redding.com/story/news/l...nears-phones-been-ringing-off-hook/795090001/

Officials have said Keith Papini passed a lie-detector test they gave to see whether he had anything to do with her disappearance. They say he told them Sherri Papini had gone jogging near her Mountain Gate home before she disappeared, and she later told investigators the women abducted her in a dark SUV.

BBM

I found the answer to my own question. It appears that LE is simply parroting back what KP told them about SP jogging when she disappeared. We don't know if SP was out jogging that day at all. KP doesn't know if she was out jogging that day. He just found her phone near the mailboxes.

And. . . How many times do detectives give false responses with this particular question?? If KP did not pass the polygraph, the detectives want him to believe he did so their suspicions are not focused on him.

He is more likely to slip up, make a wrong move, and the detectives catch him in a big lie.

IMO, this case is still wide opened and LE are silently working it. It is just taking time for all the pieces to fall into place.

I don't give polygraphs much weight at all. They are not reliable enough for me to put much faith in them.

It's true that LE can lie about the results. I think that telling Keith, and the public, he failed the polygraph would put more pressure on him and therefore causing him to later "slip up" whereas telling him he passed would put him at ease with little pressure to "slip up".

Aside from other articles written about the upcoming race KP told People about it in an interview. It was to be a family run and they all planned to run it.

At the time of her disappearance, Sherri was training for the Casa Superhero Run in Redding, a 5-kilometer race to benefit abused and neglected children, with participants dressing up in superhero costumes. “Our whole family was going to dress up and run in it,” Keith told PEOPLE.

“She has always been athletic,” he said.

I think he passed the polygraph. But, I think he knows more than he’s letting on.
