Anyone know if any members of Redding LE are members of Bethel Church?

Unless she was out jogging, a van pulls up with a woman leaning out asking for directions. Would probably be normal to feel safe in that situation (woman).

With a bandanna covering the bottom of her face?

Redding mom Sherri Papini kidnapped, burned, branded

Bosenko said Sherri Papini was unable to recall any details about her abduction when first questioned soon after being found. He said victims of traumatic experiences sometimes suffer from memory loss regarding the events.

I tend to believe Sheriff Bosenko's idea that Sherri has had some problems remembering details of her abduction. The key word is details. If she remembered nothing when questioned I would be more skeptical.

But now look at this from the FBI wanted poster:

Details:

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, is asking for the public's assistance regarding the disappearance of Sherri Papini. Prior to her disappearance on November 2, 2016, Sherri was last seen dropping her children off at daycare in the morning. Later that day, Sherri's cell phone was located approximately one mile from her home, but she could not be found."

I get the hunch LE is backtracking from their original claim that people saw her jogging? I think that's what's going on. (Ridiculous LE is putting out contradictory information here.)

Agree the time when she was observed jogging or walking by anyone has changed from 9 to 10 am to 2:00 PM ("late morning/early afternoon" by LE). All seem to be in the area of the mailboxes, And she is in a jogging outfit, but observed talking on the phone (which confirmed by family service was stopped temporarily in the PM). And KP findsthephone after returning home right there. Wierd

The Daily Mail interviewed a new neighbor recently who said SHE had never seen SP jogging there:

So only one neighbor, who never spoke to KP prior to SP going missing, says she never saw SP jogging before. Daily Mail* tries to make it sound like more than one said that with the use of "they" but DM only has quotes on the jogging from one lady. One neighbor that never saw her jog doesn't mean much however IF the others who spoke to LE actually saw her jogging that day. I don't know who these witnesses are, if their stories were true or not, just saying this story of her jogging is not all from KP's perspective or something only he made up-- we had those early witness accounts too. The VI also confirmed for us SP was training for a specific charity race.

*I wanted to also add that Daily Mail is considered a questionable source to many here. I find they have many photos and quotes other news sources don't have and checking with them can be an easy way to find a quote on something but IMO we should take some things they publish with a grain of salt. Daily Mail is also the paper that released supposed surveillance photos a suspect in the Rita Maze case, when there was no suspect-- Rita committed suicide, the man they published photos of was innocent and not related to the case-- good thing they didn't have his name in print too! I was really fooled by DM so my guard is up ever since that false reporting they put out in the Rita Maze case. JMO.

I agree, I have used DM, but I try to use it either for photos, or after I drill down a bit further. It reminds me of the Nat'l Enquirer, sure, they're right sometimes, but they take liberty with the truth, imo.

I’ve seen at least two mentions on the thread of her phone service being stopped that day (bill not paid?), but I must have missed the link to that information. Is it new? Do we know if service had been restored when KP used the find-my-phone app? If not, would the app work? I’m trying to understand the timeline and if that is significant. The phone being laid neatly on the ground is something I still don’t understand.

I hadn't heard this detail either.

Though I also hadn't realized they moved back to the same house.
I just remembered that they went to an undisclosed location last year...
I guess I missed that they returned to their house.
I assumed the house they purchased was at the undisclosed location.

We have been travelling along here without having to be reprimanded and I wanted to shout out to Websleuths for giving us such latitude in discussion. It is such a crazy situation and I think the posters have done an excellent job of being supportive yet questioning of the situation without being at all disrespectful. Thanks WS!

It is my understanding, as an iPhone/Mac user, that you have to be at the very least connected to the internet. So if out and about with no wifi, cellular data must be available and switched on.

Based on the FBI's latest release (the sketch poster), the last confirmed sighting of Sherri is at the daycare. Was the neighbor wrong when interviewed by the press? The timeline is in question-who do we believe? The neighbor? SCSO? Keith? Or the FBI?

Do you have a link to the neighbor's interview? Was there really a neighbor or neighbors who saw her jogging that morning, or did LE just assume so at that time and added it to their press release when they should have investigated further?

In early reports, it was said that there were people trimming trees in the area that saw her.

I ran across that yesterday, and the version I saw came from KP, not from LE, so I don't necessarily believe it.

Thanks for confirming that. I’m an iPhone/Mac user too, but I’ve never used find-my-phone and assumed everything needed to be available for it to work.

So I’m still wondering where the info about the service being “canceled” came from and how and when it was returned that afternoon. SP said at least once in his 911 call that service in their area is spotty. Is that where the statement/implication that the service was turned off by the cell company is coming from? Not asking you, but anyone who has a link to the statement that the service was turned off. For some reason I’m (pun alert!) “hung up” on the phone. :D

I think the VI mentioned the phone being turned off that day. You might look through her comments on her profile.

Having 3 different family members feel the need to call LE on 4 separate occasions is so not normal. The is extreme, and outside the realm of typical life experiences.

Have we discussed histrionic personality disorder? Pure speculation as yours truly is not a licensed mental health care provider. Some criterion seems to fit however.

Very interesting. I don’t think it’s been mentioned before IIRC. I’m not sure if we can discuss it per mods but it’s worth thinking about IMO, and would explain the funny feelings some have about this case.

Thanks! I think it would help if we attribute things to the VI when that’s the case, so we all know where the idea came from after so many months. I’m finding it hard to keep track!

I can’t seem to find her profile. Wasn’t it Lake or something? :)
