"I was at home when I was called" would have been perfectly appropriate in that circumstance.
I only wonder why the secrecy is all. Surely there's nothing incriminating or potentially case-threatening by stating where you were when you were told...?
But then I also wonder why the question. Do the press know where she was? I.e. Perhaps she was setting up for balloon release/ poem etc.
Maybe they were trying to point out the obvious fact that it was odd to have continued with that particular activity knowing that Sherri had been found.
All MOO and just tumbling thoughts around.
I think it is likely that the family was told not to talk about her being found at the very beginning. I am sure that LE wanted to thoroughly search that area before the perps knew she had been rescued successfully. They were probably hoping to find them clearing out and did not want them to expect LE was already there looking.
If so, it is kind of unfair to point fingers at the family for continuing with what was already planned. It might have looked really odd to call it off, without being able to explain WHY they did so. JMO
