If her scent ends at the driveway, how does that tell her mom that she walked to the bus stop?

The mother of 15-year old Sierra Lamar is asking people who drive by the bus stop where her daughter disappeared last Friday for help in finding the missing teen.

KRON 4's Will Tran spoke with Marlene Lamar, who showed up along with her boyfriend, at Palm and Daugherty to hand out fliers to commuters with her daughter's picture.

"I'm asking if they saw anything during this time period because this is the time period when she usually catches the bus," Marlene Lamar told Will. "She's the only one at this particular bus stop so I'm hoping that they remember something suspicious or out of the ordinary if they frequently come through this area to go to work then maybe they'll remember."

A teen cheerleader, 15, mysteriously vanishes on her way to school. Her cell phone just found in a field about a ½ mile from her home – the phone seemingly tossed from a car window. Why was the phone found in the opposite direction from the teen girl’s home as her bus stop? Where is Sierra Lamar?

Orrr....what about her dad's friends??? Either way, those would be some people whom she would have known in a peripheral way, long enough for one to fixate on her, and long enough to possibly trust for a ride to school or a ride somewhere.
And dad lives in the same building as another SO.

Here is a screenshot looking from Monterey Highway looking towards Sierra's Dead End Street.

As you can see the chimney tops on the grey home, you can also see how short the distance is from both Monterey Highway and the Railway Tracks.

If you do a Google Streetview walk-about, you will quickly see that Sierra's Home is on a dead-end street.

The Monterey Highway is right there, along with railroad tracks, I believe. They are located further past the dead end road.

If Sierra's trail went cold at her driveway, as per SAR Dogs, then that is really, really odd.

She lived on a dead-end street! Why would a vehicle be in there? There wasn't anywhere else to go??????

*****There are only a maximum of 10 homes that she had to walk past, in order to get to her bus stop, which was NOT VERY FAR AWAY AT ALL!!!*****

Anyone following this case should click on my map with the 3 locations above, click on her home marker, drop the little orange guy onto the map marker, and google walk to the bus stop. NOT FAR!!! This would be a 5 to 10 minute walk, maximum, I would think.

Wow.

Great post ... the fact that the house is on a dead end street confirms, IMO, that someone(s) had stopped by the house that morning. Or, someone staying in the house gave her a ride that morning...MOO

Hope LE has also checked the neighbors..MOO Or asked if they saw a vehicle, possibly a van, that they did not recognize as belonging in the cul de sac... All MOO

Police Examine Cell Phone and Computer Records

Investigators are poring over computer and cellphone records of a missing California girl in their search for the teen who was last seen early Friday walking to a school bus stop.

Authorities on Monday said they found the cellphone belonging to 15-year-old Sierra LaMar in a field not far from her home in Morgan Hill, Calif., about 25 miles south of San Jose in Santa Clara County.

Fox affiliate KTVU-TV reported Tuesday that police are now examining the phone, as well as the girl's laptop computer, for any clues into her whereabouts.

"We have confirmed that cellphone does belong to Sierra, so we're doing some forensics on that cellphone, trying to get any information we can off that cellphone, as well as her laptop," Santa Clara County Sheriff's Sgt. Jose Cardoza told the station.

I can't believe how short the walk was to the bus stop, how isolated her street is.

Plus, it's wide open fields all the way to the bus stop, with a couple of homes.

If this was a stanger abduction, it would seem to me that it would have been "easiest" to grab her from her driveway, and carry her through that creepy pass-through to the Monteray Highway and be on their way.

I wonder if there were recent tracks in that through-way?

You really must do the walk-about on Google Streetview if you are going to get a sense of where Sierra disappeared from.

Wow.

Sounds to me like someone was waiting at the end of her driveway. Either she was abducted or got a ride from someone. From the street view it would have to be someone who either stalked her or was familiar with where she lived. Upon entering her street it says "not a through street" so nobody would have business being down there if they weren't a resident or knew someone who lived there. I hope they have seriously questioned every neighbor on that dead end street. Are there any street cameras anywhere near the area? This really does not look good to me.

I was able to find Sierra's FB page. I also found the mother's FB page who has a profile pic of her and who I assume is her boyfriend. I noticed the mother was friends with the sister Danielle, but not Sierra.

At this point, I would really like to know if her last phone call to her dad in Fremont was an outgoing call that she initiated,or an inbound call from him...MOO

This news article cleared the time line a bit for me so I thought I would post it. I am sorry if it is a re post.

http://www.kron4.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=3472

"Lamar says her daughter wakes up at about 6:00 a.m. most days to get ready for school but doesn't leave the house until about 7:15, in plenty of time to walk in daylight to the bus stop. She says police have told her tracking dogs find Sierra' scent ends at the driveway of the family home.

She says many regular commuters have seen Sierra waiting for the bus in the past.

"They're telling me that they've seen her at the bus stop a lot," Lamar said. "They (police) said something about the scent stopping at the driveway. That tells me she did walk to the bus stop."

Police have said they're treating this as a missing person's case but Marlene Lamar says it's looking more likely that her daughter was abducted."

I heard on the news just this morning that she logged on to her laptop at 6:25 and then logged off at 6:30. That she left for school at 6:30. Has that information been reported as incorrect and corrected to the timeline above? tia

thanks for the info.
However..I am still not clear from the articles I have read what time she left THAT morning.
And I am still unclear if she left at all.
The dog lost her scent AT the house, but where was the trail leading FROM...the bus stop? Or was the scent just AT the house?
I hope what I am writing is clear to others.:please:

This article states, "The girl was last seen leaving for school Friday morning."
I am still confused.
WHO was the last person who saw her that morning as she left for school?
I thought the mother didn't see her leave for school because she (mom) left to go to work earlier in the morning, before Sierra left for school.
I am sorry if I keep bringing this up ad nauseum...but I feel there is important information missing.

If it is true that she left for school at 6:30 a.m., per the news, then that is about 45 minutes earlier than when her mother said she usually leaves to get the bus for school. (See video where she is handing out fliers on bus stop intersection.)

On Free White Pages, I do not see anyone by the name of LaMar owning a house on Paquita Espagna Court. Could they be renting, or could the White Pages not have up-to-date info.?
Mom and Sierra and Rick moved in to that house in October, about 5 months ago.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department said it will search the Morgan Hill home of a missing teenager Tuesday.

Investigators listed the search as a new detail in their search for Sierra Lamar, who has not been seen since leaving for school last Friday.

Sheriff's investigators said they will also conduct more interviews with Sierra's friends. They said the interviews on Monday did not reveal any useful information.

title of the article is deceiving really as it says that friends are the key... however, they have talked to friends and have nothing... they have her phone and computer...

but now they are searching her home?

what would friends have to do with that? (maybe missing clothes.. notes, etc?)

I posted the same article as nurse, so I deleted my post. I agree, it is misleading.

I know. I thought good grief leaving at 6:30 and walking to the bus stop. I khow here it is still very dark. But now the timeline per the mother is different so I wonder which is correct. I also think it interesting that the report said she logged on to her computer for 5 minutes and then logged off. But that could be incorrect too. jmo
