$700K homes are not considered high end here. I don't know any people with security cameras on their homes but I am hoping and praying the guy who has the camera is the one who is diagnally across from 18 Paquita.

When I was there, three houses, including Sierra's all had old rickety cars (two were dark red) coming and going from the end of the cul-de-sac. I was told the people driving them live there, so I didn't take note.

700k isn't considered high end where? The median household income in MH is $100k, I would think a $700k house would be on the upper side of things; definitely worthy of security cameras.

okay so where could a car get dumped that wouldn't draw immediate attention, cuz it doesn't sound like it was necessarily found with the owner ( or in a lake, heh)...airport parking?? Bus, train?? okay - off to take a look
wouldn't shopping center/office park (security) notice, if it had been left for any length of time?

Any parking lot that usually has plenty of cars there.

I have never seen security officers keep up with cars just parked in a regular parking space. The only ones I have seen them call the police is if the car is parked in a fire line or a handicapped space illegally.

IMO

Believe you me, I hear what you are saying. Unfortunately, where we live $700k is not a high end house. But, the houses in SL residential area are very nice and probably are more that $700k and may have security cameras.

Didn't Sierra tweet at one time about someone in a car bothering her? I do not recall if she actually tweeted that or if she retweeted it. Anyway, if she did tweet that, it sounded like she was turned off by the person in the car. (I do not recall exactly what the tweet said, I will admit.)

IF a car was retrieved by LE from that Target lot, and IF this is that car, and IF the car had something to do with Sierra, could it be that the perp or perps are gang members and the abduction was some sort of gang initiation? Maybe the intent was to abduct but not harm otherwise? If that is even remotely plausible, he/they could have honed in on any vulnerable girl, but if by chance he or they were involved in previously harassing Sierra somewhere, maybe he/they decided to go after her. I mean, if a gang member or members wanted to abduct a girl they could do so with no one specific in mind, and for them to be out and about that early in the morning in a neighborhood like Sierra's seems farfetched...unless she was targeted.

All JMO.

I've read articles that in the past decade or so, there has been a growing international trend in gangs having initiations where they abduct random or semi-targeted, attractive girls/women (many of them middle to upper class) in order to force them to 'pull a train' on the gang (this is their term for a lone female being gangraped by the entire gang). Females that want to become members of these types of gangs can also be subjected to this. The victim of a train is often left in very serious medical distress, and may even die from it. On an unrelated note, the alternate initiation in the described gangs was to have a member point at a totally random person, and the initiate was to then murder them.

I don't remember the places where I read about this, other than it being mostly UK & Australian media, and several years ago. I'll have to dig around & see if I can find some links to back this up/double check my recollections.

An alternate theory involving gangs is the always mentioned human trafficking - I recall some articles on the subject that stated that many smaller gangs are trending away from drugs & into trafficking because the sentences for trafficking are so light in comparison, and because it means they don't have to directly compete with the big gangs. Again, take that with a grain or two of salt, as I'll have to dig to find those articles again. Been a few years since I read them.

All JMO

I have a question: the jetta in the photo with the palm tree that Sarx posted has black door handles, yet the two surveillance photos look like red door handles on the car. Does anyone know why there is a difference? Otherwise, the cars are identical. I'm pretty sure the car is locked up somewhere safe now.

I think the handles are red on the top and black in the middle.

This part is interesting since they use plural instead of singular.

Cardoza said investigators are specifically interested in hearing from anyone who saw the Jetta or had contact with the occupants in the Jetta during the month of March within Santa Clara County or San Benito County.

I'm not reading too much from that, as it's a normal way for LE to phrase it, even when they are looking at a lone suspect. By leaving it more open they can eliminate bad leads more easily.

It would be very useful to know WHY Sierra was pulled out of her Fremont high school. This information was likely shared with LE, but it would be helpful for others searching for Sierra. If this information was withheld to protect Sierra or her family from embarrassment it was a terrible mistake, IMO.

Thanks for posting that. It is also interesting that LE states "during the month of March". Who would only drive a car for one month? Was this a car shared by several people? Was it stolen and then dumped? Notice that LE believes the car has been in two counties. What is in San Benito County? (Serra's old high school is in Alameda County. Watsonville is in Santa Cruz County. Walnut Creek, Ca is in Contra Costa County. ) Were their other recent abduction attempts in San Benito County?

Gangs in California - the Bloods use the colors black and red - also use the number 5 (possibly why the wheels upfront are like star?) could be a gang-related abductions and that is why they are looking for more than one person
Many Blood sets have grown a habit of using the number 5, and this practice traces it's roots back to the Black P Stone Bloods set of Los Angeles who use the 5 point star symbol from original Chicago Black P Stones but became a Blood set when they migrated to Los Angeles. These Bloods have incorporated the number 5 and the 5 point star deep into Blood culture since 1972. Since then Bloods have started frequently using the terms “5 popping”, “We ride the 5" and have been known to replace the letter “S” with a “5". Bloods have also taken the BPS 5 point star and made it stand for the 5 point star from the converse chuck taylor logo to signify a "BLOOD" 5 point star and Blood sets that operate in Chicago and other cities with People Nation influence have been known to collectively operate as a People Nation mob. Many Blood sets utilize the 5 point star, and the roots of this is with the Black P Stones of Chicago, so the Bloods alliance is widely regarded as part of the People Nation alliance of Chicago, and many Blood sets have begun to wear they're flags on the left side to show this while maintaining that all original Bloods wore their flag to the left anyway. Presently, the Black P Stones in Chicago and Los Angeles continue to be the keys in uniting the Bloods alliance with the People Nation as it's own People Nation mob, with each Blood set/banner etc being a branch within the Blood nation. When a Blood who is not a BPS Blood uses the number 5 it symbolizes the Chuck Taylor 5 point star and the Bloods have broken down each point of the star to the number of letters in the word B-L-O-O-D. When a Blood calls himself “5" he is infact reffering to himself as “BLOOD”. Bloods also break down the Word B.L.O.O.D. to mean B.lood L.ove O.verrides O.ppression & D.estruction. This behavior is most notable with the East Coast UBN Blood banner of New York City, the South Side UBN Blood banner in the south and the Outlaw Loco Bloods and other various small Blood sets in and around Chicago. The Bloods are also enemies with the Sureños street gang alliance and allies with the Norteños street gang alliance. The Bloods alliance/nation is known to be enemies with the Folks Nation alliance in areas where these alliances make contact. Contrary to popular belief, bloods do not use any secret books of gang knowledge and gang prayers like most People Nation alliance gangs and other Chicago gangs do. Some Blood sets, however, simply use their own unique code words called "lingo" to communicate with each other along with the Swahili language. One very popular code word among many blood sets around the country is the word "dog food" or simply "food" for short, which in Blood terms means "enemy".

Many Blood gang members can be found on TheHoodUp.com, which is a notorious virtual gathering-place for many other gangs as well. The reason many Bloods and other gang members choose to communicate with each other on TheHoodUp.com over other sites is because of the ability to remain completely anonymous if you want and avoid being tracked by the "internet-police" while being able to communicate with other gang members from around the world. TheHoodUp.com is also known to be frequented by local, state, and federal law enforcent so extra cautious members of the site are known to use proxy servers and have even created a unique method of communicating with each other called "starring", where they replace multiple letters in a word, often times already a code word for that particular set, with an asterisk(*) and only those who can fill in the blanks will know who or what they're talking about.

:seeya: Good Morning,

Thanks for the updates ... I am still catching up on this latest news ... BUT I have questions about the evidence found and camera video footage ...

First, a "snippet" from Cardoza's presser :

Q: You did say that the car was seen in the area where the evidence was found-

Sgt. Jose Cardoza: Near her- near her Mom's house and near some of the- where some of the locations of the evidence were found. We're not going to say exactly, specifically where the car was observed and what intersections versus what streets and whatnot, but near those general areas. This car was observed and witnesses have corroborated that as well.

RBBM :

The evidence found -- that has been made public is :

- The Cell Phone
- School Books
- JC Handbag with Clothing in it

The handcuff box has been ruled out.

So my Question is : are there cameras located near where these items were found -- the cell phone, school books and handbag ?

OR : Was evidence found someplace else that has NOT been made public ?

BBM: When Cardoza says the car was "observed" and "corroborated by witnesses", does he mean it was CAUGHT ON video camera -- AND -- seen by witnesses as well ?

OR : Just corroborated by different witnesses ?

A "red vehicle" sticks out "like a sore thumb" ... so I am trying to figure out why this "red vehicle" was not made public earlier in the investigation ...

I was thinking this case had more of a West Side Story theme going.
What with the Sharks and the Jettas.

I don't know, but apparently school buses have security cameras that record inside and outside the bus.

jmhoo but I think if LE thought sharing that info with the public was helpful they would have done so :twocents:
