IMO, I don't think it was a gang member. I mean, wouldn't it be easier to abduct someone off the street in a poor neighborhood?

The area Sierra was taken from is a middle class area(?), with pretty expensive houses. I just don't see why a gang member would risk being seen with a car that stands out, and some houses have surveillence cameras. And it just doesn't fit in with the folded clothes, bag and the cellphone. It's too... organised.

I think that it's a psycho, maybe someone who have been stalking her. Someone who doesn't think about the consequences, but "needs" to take Sierra. The car really bothers me though, because it really stands out, and the police could've put up roadblocks if a witness had seen Sierra getting abducted. Why would someone risk that...

Just a theory. I have a feeling that this case will be solved soon. I just hope that she's alive.

I sure would like to know how long it has been in possession of LE. Did they find it abandoned in a shopping parking lot? If not, they had to obtain a SW from a Judge to legally seize anyone's vehicle to bring it to the LE impound yard.

I am hoping they have had it for sometime for the vehicle looks awfully clean and that would give the potential suspect 2 months to detail the car over and over again.

IMO

I think if it had really been abandoned in a parking lot for any period of time, they could tow it on the instruction of the store owner/manager. I assume they can do a non-intrusive search without a warrant (look in the windows, and even check the door handles/outside for fingerprints and/or DNA). If they got a match to Sierra's prints or DNA, or spotted a pair of grey shoes on the floor, I think they could THEN get a warrant to open it up pretty easily.

I am thinking the Jetta was stolen and Sierra went to the party she was talking about. Gone too long - caused a big problem and too scared to come home.

she would have been seen and spotted, why would she toss her phone out the car window and her bag? MO

I am still sticking with my gut instict here. Sierra left the house with someone she knew either R/T or from online . And things either went bad or she became to afraid to come home. My gut is telling me she is still alive at this point.JMHO

"I am not looking for trouble or a conviction. I just want — we all want her safe return. We all want this nightmare to end, and that's my plea out there," she said." (She being Sierra's mom.)

IMO - This sounds like something that would be said if underage Sierra went off with someone older...

:seeya:

RBBM: I agree that it does sound like something a mother would say IF /B] she had went off with someone older ...

But hasn't LE ruled out that she was not a "runaway" ...

Any parking lot that usually has plenty of cars there.

I have never seen security officers keep up with cars just parked in a regular parking space. The only ones I have seen them call the police is if the car is parked in a fire line or a handicapped space illegally.

IMO

Within the past year, we had a member who was looking for her sister. She did not necessarily expect that there was foul play, and I believe the sister had a heart condition, or something that required regular medications. Days passed and she could not be located. Her car was also missing. Eventually, she was located... her car was parked in a patrolled parking lot, and had been ticketed numerous times while it sat there, but security did nothing to try to find/notify the owner, who, as it turned out, was in the front seat, dead. They were actually GETTING OUT OF THEIR CARS and PLACING TICKETS ON THE WINDSHIELD without so much as glancing inside.

SRE-It's not likely that a discriminate scent dog is going to pick up her live scent 2 months later. HRD dogs can certainly clear the car though and tell whether anyone who was deceased had ever been in it.

For clarification on Carrie's dog though, it is a puppy and was a young puppy at that time 8 months ago. I hadn't heard that it had already been certified? It would be very young to already be certified, unless I have been completely misinformed of the age of the dog.

This article says that there is evidence linking the car to Sierra.

:seeya: Thank You for this update ...

Snipped from above link :

"It was a confirmation that it was something physical," Sierra's mother Marlene Lamar said. "People tell you they're investigating but when they come up with a physical piece of evidence, it just confirms that everyone is doing everything possible."

Lamar made the remarks Wednesday morning as several dozen volunteers responded to a call for more help searching the area.

Good to hear that the searches are continuing with the help of volunteers ...

This part is interesting since they use plural instead of singular.

Cardoza said investigators are specifically interested in hearing from anyone who saw the Jetta or had contact with the occupants in the Jetta during the month of March within Santa Clara County or San Benito County.

Also they singled out San Benito County. That is south of MH and very rural, and includes Hollister. Nothing much happens in that county other than farming, and some ranches and slight tourism.

"What stands out to me is they have a car they feel is significant in the disappearance of Sierra," Marc Klaas tells Will. "That car is a plethora of information. This car very well may be the path to Sierra. We just need to let the investigators find that path and take us to it."

I think Marlene meant the something physical is simply that the Red Jetta was found.
No mention of finding anything inside the car, etc that directly links it to Sierra

Thankfully, she was not found dead in the trunk. I wish we would find out more about that car, who owned it and where it has been recently.

Hollister is not the sleepy little town it used to be either. Gang issues there are alive and well. Very true that there is a lot of very rural area out towards Pinnacles and down that stretch.

That is exactly what I think she meant too.

They have something now they can touch and do forensic tests on that may be linked to Sierra's disappearance.

Does anyone know the exact year of the Jetta? I have a found a couple interesting things but need to know the year.

BBM

That is sad to hear. I haven't been there in many years but it used to be a pretty isolated, sleepy, small town. My childhood friend had a summer cabin there and we would go and horseback ride and fish in their pond. We would walk alone to the little store when we were pretty young. Those days are over I suppose.

:seeya: That makes sense regarding the "physical" ...

When I read the "headline", I was hoping for some more info or something more "specific" ...

Wishful thinking ... lol ...
