I'm so confused about this second phone talk. Did she tweet from an iPhone once? Or take pics? Maybe it's not a phone? Maybe it's an iPad. That would make more sense than having two phones. Just trying to understand what this phone talk is regarding.

Same here.
I saw a pic where in it, she is using another phone to take a pic.
I asked earlier if this is where the idea came from of two phones.

Bottom line: Does this mean that even if one phone gets tossed, she
had a backup?

99% likely he is just a little punk, but either way I'd haul him in. Maybe he'll think twice next time. Seriously, what is wrong with these kids?

I know I am from a different generation but I find things said by some children today.......appaling and pure disgusting.

I Just started listening to her and i have to say she is one smart cookie!
nothing is as complicated as we make it seem!

and i agree raise your kids and forget the guys for the time being.
kids need stability,,,

My children have more stability with my boyfriend around them than they do with their own father. Dr. Laura is a nutcase. Believe it or not, there are decent men out there that don't have the urge to rape and murder every child/girl/woman they see. And as a good, decent, involved mother, I know the difference between a good man and a bad one. Women aren't stupid unless they choose to be.

And if this girl's biological father is a registered sex offender who preyed on teenaged girls, she likely had more stability living with her mother and her mother's boyfriend too.

It's funny how she can simplify your life. I used to be so confused till I found her fifteen years ago. My life fell in place...amazing!

...but I lost her 5 yrs ago..I don't know what channel she's on and I am radio handicapped...among other things..LOL

Don't disagree, but in these parts if you don't have a smart phone you're lagging in the teen world. I know 10-11 year olds who have iphones.

*raising hand*

Guilty...My 11yr old and 15 year old both have Androids, but it's from me upgrading my phone and handing down my older ones...but they can't take them to school, if the phone gets confiscated, the go back to the $19 flip phone!

Didnt she say she got the school message around 5 or 6. I would think they left the message either on her land land or email. So it seems she gets home around that time and parents both mothers and fathers have been known to get in later than that due to their work schedules. Sierra wasnt a small child. At 15 she can fend for herself until her mom arrives.

IMO

She is 15 not a small child but a child none the less.
Seems this young girl gets herself off to school in the mornings and is home alone in the afternoons...I see alot wrong with this picture.. JMO

she should have someone taking care of her...
All JMO

Who's monitoring her twitter account, I wonder? If her tweets weren't copied, everything will disappear.

I was wondering if anyone was reading the tweets of the people she was on with in the days leading up to her disappearance.

What are they tweeting about now, one wonders?
Has anybody done a followup on their tweets?
Might be enlightening.

Respectfully, I dont agree with that, Eileen. A teenager of 15 shouldnt have to have a nursemaid.

There have been latch key kids for decades and the vast majority of them do just fine.

Please review the rules regarding Twitter, Facebook and other social networks.

It is VERY important that all WS members read and understand the concepts listed below. Everyone will be expected to follow them while at WS.

Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

I agree with you. Before I had children, an experienced parent told me not to be so worried about being home all day with young children (the idea of going back to work AFTER your child is out of diapers). They said worry about not being home when your kids are teens. Teens need constant supervision.

Me too, especially since when I walked home alone from high school at 17, and was approached in front of my junior high, by someone I now believe to be a serial killer! No young female should be walking alone, EVER!!! A phone is no guarantee of safety, even a dog can't stop a bullet!

Sorry i just dont agreee with you!

Well if i left my house at 6 am id worry about my daughter getting out to school and being out at 7am waiting all alone for her school bus. Im sorry i wouldnt want to worry like that every day.

And just because there have been latchkey kids for decades does not make it right.... Look at all the young girls missing whyyyyyyyyyyy Opportunity!

Might be her older sisters. My son had an i-phone and my DD used to ask to use it all of the time when he was here.

I don't think so, she asked her sister to face time her. And there's one where she's facetiming herself from a white iPhone you can see in the picture and the tweet says sent via twitter for iPhone. It seems like she did have access to an iPhone - it could've been someone else's, but she asks her sister to FaceTime her on a different date at 8:47pm.

Also on the 14th she said she would be in LA with another girl... ummm???
And that girl hasn't tweeted since the 15th

ETA: She did tweet about waiting for the bus and it being cold, so I could see someone taking the opportunity to give her rides, it could've been arranged in person, at school or whatever.

I had a job when I was 15...I guess it does not seem like a child-like age to me, JMO.

My mom and dad both worked. And a lot of people nowadays are in that same postion.

By the age of 15, after school, I was helping to raise my little brother, cooking supper for the family, cleaning the house... all before my mom and dad came home.

A 15 year old girl should not have to have a nursemaid to watch over her, imo.

Now, I don't agree with a 15-year-old being home alone either. Not in the day and time we live in. I have re-arranged my work schedule so many times so that I am able to take them to school and have someone out waiting for them at the bus stop.

My children do not have internet access unless they are directly supervised (me sitting right next to them). They do not have cell phones yet, but I wouldn't have an issue with them having one with certain restrictions. There are parental controls that can be set that only allow calls to be made/received from certain numbers. The same with text messaging. You can also set the controls to only allow calls to 911 during certain hours.

Expensive purses, sunglasses, clothing, etc. I would not buy them for children (or myself even), but if my child saved up their own money and wanted to purchase it themselves, I wouldn't be against it.

People are too lenient and relaxed with their kids these days. And people think they really cannot control their kids' actions (i.e. they will sneak out of the house if they want to). That is completely false. I know where my kids are at all times. I know who they are with. I know what they are doing. And I have taught them that not everyone is nice, even if they are nice at first, even if they don't look dangerous, even if you know them. Bad things happen every single day and they know it.

...The phone was found Saturday night, after a day of occasionally heavy rain storms.

Forensics investigators will continue to examine the phone and its contents when it is dry, Sheriff’s Lt. Troy Smith said. The phone is still being processed for DNA evidence and fingerprints. The rain “isn’t really a factor” as far as affecting the presence of fingerprints.
