Can anyone clarify if her last name is Lamar or LaMar? TIA
LaMar I believe, That's how the friends wrote it anyway.

I actually disagree. If the phone was on the ground in that same location from around 7:30 until it was found, then there should be no reason to focus in on the area around the house more.
This would support that she was alive and traveling away from the home.
Now if the phone was in a different spot at different times until its discover, then that would be a reason to think something more happened near the home.
Based on the evidence we have, for all we know, she made it to the bus stop, and then was offered a ride. As they were driving away someone threw her phone out the window.
If this were the case, there would be no crime scene or anything useful in the proximity around the house.
So I think there still must be other evidence leading them to believe that there is something near the house.
This brings up a big question for me. This is still considred a "missing person's" case. They have evidence from her purse which could indicate that she was possibly removed from her clothing and all he possessions, and they've been searching around her house a lot. Is it normal to keep it as a "missing person" when there is a lot of evidence to suggest abduction?
Still doesn't pan out to me. How often would someone hang around the area if they grabbed her? And would they really return to the area later on to dump a purse for no reason?
There is so much open area around there. If they already had her in the car, why not get away from her home, and why not dump the bag somewhere else where nobody would find it.
I still think the clothes were already in the bag, and the bag was THROWN within a matter of minutes of her being picked up.
Not every drug user is desperate for money. Maybe she tried to use her phone and it was grabbed and thrown out the window. Maybe she tried to get something out if her purse and then it was tossed. Who knows? I just really doubt it was staged. JMO

This is still something I am having trouble digesting.
The idea that her purse and phone throws off a search.
So what IS the point of leaving evidence to be found?
It seems to me to point to making it seem like something it isn't.
Neatly folded clothes still leads me to female kidnapper...of course not completely.
But Military personnel is a logical thought, and one I had not thought of! Good thinking!
O/T..was the interview on Coast to Coast?I was listening to an interview with David Paulides the other night.
Author of "Missing-411".
He said there is no law on the books about, or a crime against being a missing person.
That's what I was basing my statement on.
More than 200 people gathered Tuesday morning in Santa Clara County to help search for missing teen Sierra LaMar.
On Monday, Santa Clara County Sheriff Sgt. Jose Cardoza told the San Jose Mercury News that he had no updates in the case. Tips about other attempted abductions and possible sightings of Sierra so far have been unfounded, he told the newspaper.
Also, her phone was a Samsung Galaxy, which is a phone with a SIM card (carriers AT&T or T-Mobile). The perp could have just removed the battery and/or SIM card. He could have just smashed the phone. But, it was thrown out into a field.
The same idea with the purse. It could've been put in a dumpster somewhere and then taken to a landfill and never found. But, no, it was tossed in another field.
ANd do we know for a fact she did not toss the phone or bag yet NO!!! Also as far as the Purse or bag however you want to call it. I still say it was placed not tossed other wise the clothes would not have still been neatly folded as they were found. Also I still feel both items were tossed from the passenger side of the car. Becuase if thrown from the driver side they would have crossed at least one lane of traffic to get where they were found.
Sorry if this has been covered, but I expected it was to eliminate the "pings" from the cell phone that would lead them in the direction the abductor took her. Throwing out the purse was probably just a precaution.

I listened to it for a little bit before I fell asleep.LOL
Sounded interesting!
"neatly folded" could also refer to the positioning of the clothes inside the bag (tossed or not)
re: not wadded up, inside out, akimbo, etc...
I think it was sarx (???) who said to think of the way your luggage comes off of an airplane after being thrown all around by baggage handlers... the clothing is still folded. (if it wasn't sarx than thanks to whomever else posted that thought)
jmhoo, but I think the bag was tossed from a car, as was the phone, on the egress :moo:
On the other hand, if a "perp" had taken them to the other side of Gilroy or
smack dab in the middle of downtown San Jose, we wouldn't be talking about this stuff, at all.
The point to me is, WHOEVER, wanted them found, that's why they are so close to home.
Just not right away.
