No - it doesn't open the door on Susan's husband, unless we have something from LE. Do we have anything from LE that indicates the husband might be a POI?

It would be reasonable that the husband might make such a statement if he is frustrated by LE's need to rule him out so they can look in other directions, kwim?

I don't have the answer to the question specifically from LE, and in the article and video I posted, I don't know if this would properly answer your question,
but at the 1 minute 59 second mark on the video, reporter Tony Lopez states:
"When I asked Roseville Police about his possible connection to his wife's disappearance, they told me nothing's been ruled in, nothing's been ruled out."

This video and article was posted on the thread previously, as well.
Thank you for your input, Salem.

I would take that as saying Roseville PD hasn't named anyone a POI which would mean that they haven't named Susan's husband as a POI.

Well then I see that answered the question you wanted to know then. :)

Yes it does. When LE say's that they haven't ruled anything in or out, all it means is they haven't come to any conclusion yet. If that's the last we heard from Roseville PD we don't have much to go on.

I'm glad to see interest in Susan's case again. I know this is totally lame of me, but I got really sick not too long after my last plan to see what I could find for her (along with Stephen Pease who was found deceased a day or two later, and Bryce Laspisa but I think his school-mates would be on break right now). It's been so long I didn't realistically expect to find anything, but I hoped to. Finally feeling better and I hope I can do it soon, but it's been harder to find travel companions since it's so cold and icy and the holidays are here.

Along the lines of what Salem said I think it's more like "anyone's a potential POI" but there's not an actual POI at this point.

I strongly feel it's unlikely there's some random stranger. I think there would be more uproar in the community by now, or at least I hope so. Whenever I ask about it to LE or MSM I get "we're still investigating," but I never get the impression (IMO only) that there's some danger to the community other than your average every day danger.

I'm still very sad that Susan has missed so, so much... something in me hopes she can come home and make up for missed time even though I know how incredibly unlikely it is.

(((hugs))) to Susan and loved ones, especially her grandbaby

Sometimes LE keeps information close to their vest, so there might be things they haven't revealed to the public. This article was a long time ago. I hope that there has been advancement in Susan's case.
Where are you Miss Susan?

In any event, IMO, whether you believe in their use or not, I find it unusual that family members were not asked to take polygraphs, especially if no one could be ruled out. It is not so much the results as the reaction to being asked that LE is often interested in seeing.

Yes, I totally agree, I am glad as well that there is interest in Susan's case.

I think that LE sometimes uses polygraphs to try and force confessions from suspects. Even if the suspect "passes" they will tell them that they failed horribly and its best that they confess. I think that refusing to take one is a good idea.

If in fact LE hasn't asked family members to take a polygraph, I go back to them having an alibi and LE deemed polygraphs on them as being unnecessary.

Id want everyone to take a poly if it were my LOVED ONE missing!
Sorry I do not see LE as the Bad guy! I don't think they want to force confessions from ppl but I do think they would like to rule ppl out if they possibly can!

JMO

How can anyone have an alibi when no one knows when she went missing?

Polygraphs don't always help get to the truth.

I don't always see LE as the bad guy. Only sometimes.

How do we know if the family members have alibis if LE hasn't told us one way or another? Maybe they do, maybe they don't. It would explain the comment about LE not asking for polygraphs.

  • #633
Maybe LE has asked, since that time many months ago, who knows? We've not heard a word from LE, not to clear the husband or otherwise.

I have no idea what happened to Susan, but I really do not believe she was abducted by a stranger or that she ran away from home. Neither of those scenarios rings true in any sense. IMO she met her fate via someone known to her, like most victims. JMO

I think LE did not force the issue of taking a polygraph because they have confirmed the husband was at work, so he has an alibi. They don't have to announce to the public that he is or is not a POI or suspect, and there could be a strategy behind their silence. Maybe they want the person to feel comfortable thinking LE is not onto them, so he/she will slip up and make a mistake. Sometimes there is just no news they can share with the public.

I don't think this was someone she knew, necessarily. It could have been a total stranger. If it were family or friend, why would they accost her in a public parking lot early in the morning? Why not grab her before she ever left her house? Taking someone hostage from a fairly busy shopping center sounds more like something a random stranger would do, not someone she was acquainted with, but that's JMO.

  • #635
LE cannot be sure, as far as I can tell, if Susan in fact went to the shopping center at all, which would make it difficult for anyone to have an alibi, IMO.

Hypothetical question !
A woman goes missing husband says I last saw her at such and such
A time I went to work! Why do u automatically believe him?

I always have suspicions of the last person to see someone that goes
Missing I till LE clears them. Jmo

Maybe LE has a witness that saw Susan driving away from her home in the direction of the store.

I think they would have said she was last seen driving to wherever by so and so

Maybe. LE has been pretty quiet in this case.

  • #640
I think they have been quiet because they
Only have the info husband has told them I personally
Sdont think anyone else had seen her for sometime.
