Posting this here and to my other Roseville/Rocklin area cases that I've been following (Bryce Laspisa, Stephen Pease). I'm heading out that way again Sat. evening. I'm not comfortable wandering around in the dark by myself, but I'll have hubby with me for most of the time. I'm also comfortable walking in populated areas and looking for posters and such. Is there anything that anyone might want me to look for, or do? I went near both Sun City and the shopping center the other night and didn't really see anything, although I didn't get out and walk around as it was getting dark. I'll have a little more time tomorrow.

I had a weird dream again last night where I kept asking Susan to come 'visit' me (all in my sleep), but that was the extent of it.

Where are you Susan? Thanksgiving is coming soon. I hope you can spend it with your grandbaby.
Please let us know what you find in your travels with hubby tonight!

:crossfingers:

not much of an answer in the Bee Blog, is it?

Yes< IHAVENOCLUE
I haven't had a chance to go dig around on that recollection, but it is in the back of my mind...was hesitant to bring it up but SUSAN is missing and following all avenues of thought 'might' be tantamount in discerning what happened to her. IMHO.
kwim?

Personally I don't think the initial searching extended far enough out from the shopping center/home vicinity. And I don't think anything of value is going to be found around them at this point.
imho she is located further away...

I looked back in my notes and this is what I found:

Mortgage Home Information:

Reconveyance Date - 4-15-13
Sub. Trustee Date - 4-15-13
DEED Date - 8-2-13

(Please note that I am quite unfamiliar with the meaning of the above mortgage/deed terms... I am only copying what I found in my notes... :blushing: )

additionally... I will search back on the thread to see if I might find the original posts from which I found the information...

and... Maybe the WSer will read this and chime in with the information s/he has found...

iirc , it was something about a trust maybe she was named on, gleaned from public record information? ...and not necessarily connected to the Roseville property?
i will dig too

I think if information is found related to/naming Susan in public records, that is allowable?

Totally agreed. All I can even think of to look for is whether or not any flyers/posters are up... though I have my doubts as to whether or not it helps at this point. I still have hope, but also still kind of at a loss on what else to do.

well nikb, if you were the adventurous, boots on the ground sort, I bet I could give you some out lying coordinates to go check,...that I believe are pretty much publicly accessible
...and to the best of my knowledge may not have been considered as search areas. Frankly I do not put much stock in that so called trail followed by some dog brought in by a private indicvidual, back when.

Please message me with the info! I am unfortunately somewhat limited in what I can do physically due to a muscle disease causing mobility issues. I'd be way more adventurous and boots on the ground without that limitation, for sure! But if these locations you're thinking of are fairly level and walkable I can check them out.

Was hoping there was some news on Susan. :(

for example, these areas have interested me, fwiw....I think in a sense they are accessible, especially rather quickly

38.744212, -121.597603 down to 38.715507, -121.606744
between the road and river, assuming it was not blocked with construction early May 2013
^ that area is app. 30 mins/16 miles from Roseville
and then there is the river, ugh.

in here, is interesting
38.868140, -121.356518

38.734737, -121.392980 actually that whole Dry Creek area along it...depending on access

I am really afraid that her remains are out there some where, as much as I truly truly hope she is alive and out there some where

Thank you! I will see how much of this I can check out. The Garden Highway area (first coordinates you gave) are a little challenging physically for me because that's a levee road and pretty steep on both sides. If you haven't checked it out already you can do the Google "walkaround" guy and see roughly what it looks like: http://goo.gl/maps/yzqyX. LOTS of trees and brush in there. Good thought to check it out more.

The river, yeah... I always worry about the rivers around here. Several people have been found in them this year, which is pretty typical. I can think of 3 that were on the news. Dry Creek isn't far from her either. I was on pins and needles when they found someone there earlier this year (story: http://www.kcra.com/news/local-news...ion/-/12969376/21791798/-/8lth1i/-/index.html). I've also thought about Linda creek. I don't know what the flows are like that time of year. Normally it's fairly low, but it's also been known to get pretty full when there are heavy rains.

I too hope she's alive and okay somewhere! I would so love for that to be true. I may have to wait til early next week to scope out the further out places so that it's daylight, but I will do my best to check these spots out.

yes I was flying around on google earth....What I would look for , if it were me, is places someone could pull off the shoulder, get out rather quickly, umm leave something, back in and exit going forward, or a 3 point turn around, or even pull off the road into a clearing of sorts

and I am thinking occured night time ish hours. not broad daylight

not being local I have no idea how traveled that Garden Highway is, or the other roads

To address one of your questions... Garden Highway is mostly used for river access, or by people who live along the river. There's pretty easy access to most of the major freeways/highways that are larger and better maintained, so I think even people who live there (at least the ones I know of) treat it more like a side road. I think of it as sort of a frontage road for the river - it runs right along the Sacramento River. I'm sure you've seen that on Google.

I can't speak for everyone of course, but I don't know of anyone who really uses the Garden highway as a typical highway. I always think it's funny it's called a highway because it's more of a side road, and a route to other "actual" highways. There are a few popular restaurants along there too, mostly closer to the Old Sacramento area. That area gets a lot of traffic, but the rest of it isn't super busy. It's not deserted, but it's not a place that gets traffic jams either. The other roads in that area are used, but not super heavily traveled.

As to places to turn out... that sent shivers down my spine. I'd never really thought about it that way, but yes, there are - I usually think of them as pretty areas, but now that I'm thinking about it in another way they can be kind of creepy too. Nearly everything between the road and river is built to survive floods, so any permanent "living quarters" are elevated to the level of the levee. There are a number of places you can pull off underneath the trees. Campgrounds, boat/trailer parking, undeveloped areas, etc.

Along the highway a lot of the driveways look like this: http://goo.gl/maps/ZdYD3.

This was the thing that really made me shudder because a lot of the turnout spots look like this: http://goo.gl/maps/Mep1c

:( Didn't make it out tonight as my husband got called into work, I couldn't find anyone else to go, and I didn't want to go alone - but I'm shooting for tomorrow night instead. I'll also go for a daytime visit to the other areas early next week.

I think what drew my eye out to that Garden Highway area, it that Baseline-Riego heads west to there from Roseville, and crosses 99/Golden St Hiway, and it looks like it could be used to head south to catch the 5...like maybe an alternate way to 5 that people know about...
Yes Nik, that second turn off, stuff like that, that doesn't lead to a private residence.

These locations may not make any sense....but neither does Susan missing, she IS somewhere. And my personal opinion is she did not make it to that shopping center. I think of dear Hailey Dunn, her remains being found off a dirt road leading to a lake, people going by for days and days....
