Bumping for Lopez Canyon Jane Doe. I hope her body wasn’t cremated

This couldn't be Alcala, he was in prison at the time. Nonetheless, I cannot help but look at this image from his locker and wonder at some of the coincidences in terms of similarities with Lopez Canyon Jane Doe:

I was researching this case, and I speculate she could have been a victim of Ted Bundy. He confessed to having a few unidentified victims in California. I do feel like she could have been lured out of the main city of LA and then got murdered + dumped in the canyon.

Bundy was also known to go after girls with long dark or auburn hair. She fits the profile well. She also doesn't look like she went out just to got to San Fernando Valley.

What also confuses me is the decomposition state of her body---If she was that badly decomposed how did they manage to get a hold of her eye color?

I doubt it. she was probably buried.
California had a history of cremating the vast majority of their unidentified decedents, particularly in Los Angeles, prior to DNA. It just wasn't considered affordable to bury them.

@aurycore do you have any idea just how many John and Jane Does, California has? It is in the thousands. As of this moment, it is 2956 according to NamUS. How many Pre-1980s Does are still unsolved? At least 365. And that's almost fifty years after the fact. As for L. A., the biggest County in the State? As of this moment, they have 1056 John or Jane Does.

Now, just imagine the size of that, the expense to bury them, to label them to mark them. And remember that this is the 1980s.

I am not excusing my state, more should always be done. But the sheer scale of that project would be mind boggling.

She was found in Los Angeles County so she was probably cremated in early 1980, three years after she was discovered, and dumped in the yearly mass grave with all the other unclaimed and unidentified bodies from 1979.

This article has more details on the process. It's about a John Doe from 2014 but the procedure unfortunately has not changed much: People cared for Tuan Nguyen in life but the homeless man’s body goes unclaimed

I see. i always thought that they were buried, given a proper grave.

No. But better than some places, which literally sent the unidentified or unclaimed to landfill.

Humans are not garbage.

Lopez Canyon Jane Doe compared to Deborah Lee Tomlinson, who ran away from Oregon Oct 1973. Someone already has Deborah listed, and agreed she looks a lot like the LCJD. 16 yo, 5'5", 140lbs, brown hair & eyes:

Ran away on her 16th birthday with an unidentified teen female friend.

Also, after reading what I did on the posts about a potential eye color change after death, what about Corrine June Groenenberg, who disappeared from Modesto in 1973 16 yo, 5'6", 115lbs. Last seen hitchhiking getting into a green or blue truck/male driver. (Corrine's eyes are listed as blue.)

Maybe Sheryl Ann Tillinghast? She disappeared from Wassaic NY late September 1973. 17 yo, 5'3" 140lbs, length of hair to mid-back. Employed and lived at the Wassaic State School, Wassaic, Dutchess County, NY till the time of her disappearance. Left behind her possessions and two paychecks. Sheryl was originally from Phelps, Ontario County, New York. in contact with her family until disappearance. No known vehicle. Sheryl was not reported missing until1998. (Second image is age progressed)

So this Jane Doe was listed with no jewelry found? That outfit she's wearing is crying out for jewelry. I think the murderer took the jewelry, it was either distinguishing to her/unique, or/and it's an SK looking for trophies.

Follow-up on above post with Sheryl Tillinghast. Sheryl evidently had a plan with a sister to move to California.

With that tie-in, I hope they look at Sheryl because she does resemble the Doe. With any plan to move to CA in discussion, the timing may actually line up for her to actually be this Jane Doe.

While searching on Facebook for missing to compare to this Doe, I find a post of a missing girl named Tammy Ruth Palmer, but I can't find her on Nameus or here.
Somebody has already heard her name?

I don't know if the reported her, someone can help?

Tbh, i'm starting to think that she's not from the San Fernando area---The highways are I-5 and also the ventura freeway, which lead to san diego, los angeles, sacramento, etc. She does have a distinct look that makes me think shes from northern california, but i'm not too sure myself.
