Bumping for Lopez Canyon Jane Doe. I hope her body wasn’t cremated
I doubt it. she was probably buried.Bumping for Lopez Canyon Jane Doe. I hope her body wasn’t cremated
California had a history of cremating the vast majority of their unidentified decedents, particularly in Los Angeles, prior to DNA. It just wasn't considered affordable to bury them.I doubt it. she was probably buried.

MOO
She was found in Los Angeles County so she was probably cremated in early 1980, three years after she was discovered, and dumped in the yearly mass grave with all the other unclaimed and unidentified bodies from 1979.I doubt it. she was probably buried.
I see. i always thought that they were buried, given a proper grave.@aurycore do you have any idea just how many John and Jane Does, California has? It is in the thousands. As of this moment, it is 2956 according to NamUS. How many Pre-1980s Does are still unsolved? At least 365. And that's almost fifty years after the fact. As for L. A., the biggest County in the State? As of this moment, they have 1056 John or Jane Does.
Now, just imagine the size of that, the expense to bury them, to label them to mark them. And remember that this is the 1980s.
No. But better than some places, which literally sent the unidentified or unclaimed to landfill.I see. i always thought that they were buried, given a proper grave.
Her name definitely rings a bell. While searching on Facebook for missing to compare to this Doe, I find a post of a missing girl named Tammy Ruth Palmer, but I can't find her on Nameus or here.
Somebody has already heard her name?
