This is the first I have heard of this case. How can anyone do this to a baby & mother (especially a baby!!!). This is a horrendous, cowardice crime any punishment would be too good for the perpetrator. I hope that the family can be strong and find confort in the fact that they are together.

In one week's time it will have been two years since Tori and Dean's lives were wrongfully taken. Everyone, please pray for those who knew and loved Tori and Dean. I'll nudge Dayna to go look, if she is able. I know the trial phase is wearing on her, but she is stubbornly sticking with it, she wants to see Justice met. So do I.

Has the trial started already? I changed ISP's and lost my email addresses which of course one was Dayna's address. If you keep in contact with her could you please ask her if it is alright for you to give me her email address....just so you'll know that I'm on the up and up...lol. I would like to be able to keep in contact with her as we've done for ages but can't without her email address. Thanks

SAN DIEGO -- A man accused of strangling a woman and their 10-month- old son in his crib after she threatened to take him to court over the paternity of the child will face life in prison without the possibility of parole of convicted, a prosecutor said Monday.

Dennis Potts, 24, is charged with two counts of murder and a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders in the July 26, 2006, deaths of 22- year-old Tori Vienneau and her baby, Dean Springstube.

I hope he gets life, but the trial doesn't start until January 09. I agree with the prosecutions choice based on DP's age and criminal history. The Death Penalty would have been too easy, not only him but for his parents who denied their grandson and their sons involvement. Life without the possibility of parole to think about establishing paternity and paying child support (with the effectiveness of child support enforcement)... is a long time.

the headline is misleading- i was doing a happy dance until i read the actual article- if i'm not mistaken,- he's facing LWOP and there is a pretrial conference on October 22. he was not sentenced to life, Yet...

DENNIS POTTS was arrested today in the murder of Tori and Dean! Halleluiah!

ARRESTS MADE IN JULY, 2006 DOUBLE MURDER

San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit detectives have arrested two
suspects involved in the July, 2006 murders of Tori Vienneau and her
10-month-old son, Dean Springstube.

At the time of the murders, Tori and Dean were living in an apartment in
Mountain View. On July 26, 2006, at approximately 8:50 p.m., their roommate
found Tori and Dean strangled to death.

Homicide Team III investigated the case for the past 18 months and
coordinated the investigation with the Family Protection Unit of the
District Attorney's Office. This morning, detectives obtained arrest
warrants charging Dennis Potts, 23, with two counts of murder and conspiracy
to obstruct justice, and Max Corn, 23, with conspiracy to obstruct justice.

At 9:05 a.m., detectives arrested Corn as he used an ATM at 4500 Bonita Road
in Bonita. At 9:55 a.m., detectives arrested Potts as he drove in the 4900
block of Bonita Road.

Potts and Corn are being processed at Headquarters before booking into
County Jail.

Last I knew, DP was to have a court date in late January 2009. The avoicefortorianddean website has not been updated since the end of 08. I looked and looked and can't find a thing.... and am wondering are there any updates to the trial?
