GUILTY CA - Tori Vienneau, 22, & Dean Springstube, 10 mos, murdered, Bonita, 26 July 2006 #2

This is a fantastic update. I think we would all rather excersize patience than see the perp walk after being tried.

I believe I have said this before, but will say it again. I believe DP told at least one person and that person or persons are not talking..... yet.

I also wonder what DP really did after the crime was committed. Where did he go? home to sleep or out trying to forget what just happened. which leads me to wonder if LE checked any survellience video from DP's common hang outs the night the crime was commited. I sure hope they did, as that would put the kabosh on his bs alibi. On that note, wonder if any public ( traffic, apt community) survellience exists that might prove the alibi is bogus.

This will be solved! It may take time, but it will happen.

Emails are great and I believe every LE should be told occasionally that we appreciate and support them. But before everyone sends thank you emails now, stop and think. It seems like the polite thing to do, but is it really? What do you want the detective to be spending his time on? Emails or investigating? Keep in mind, it is easy for us to write an email. But for the detective- he would be reading/answering many emails. The more emails he gets, the longer it would be before he conducts business.

It's doubtful that Lt. Rooney personally responds to all email himself. He's constantly mentioned in most of the murder cases in the San Diego area and also works with CrimeStoppers.

Whoever does screen the emails probably sorts them according to Case Name. Lt. Rooney will be made aware of emails received, but not necessarily will he personally respond. There are probably a few standard formatted replies they use, depending to the topic of the emails.

With so many crimes to investigate, some cases are put on the 'back-burner' so to speak and we don't want this to be case here.

Sometimes emails are not as effective as good old hard copies/snail mail. A composed correspondence shows time has been taken, including a signature, and not the easy and short route.

More than anything, emphasis must be made that you are concerned about this case, and not wanting it to be put to the wayside.

I sent a "thank you" to the detective thanking him for taking the time to answer my email and for assuring me that the case hasn't grown cold and that there will eventially be an arrest and justice for Tori and Dean. I signed my name, where I'm from, and said "no reply needed."

 • #125
I wouldn't think it necessary for the detective to return a message to a simple "thank you." I guess each person can decide what they want to do and what a simple "thank you" should entail. Personally, I wouldn't expect an answer.

And you would be right, no answer required for a 'thank you'. BUT, that email was sent to you, not to all of us.

I was responding to a portion of mysteriew's post.

Well, I have new hope for this case because of this detective. I wonder if he has been involved from the beginning? I also sent a thank-you email last night, and I included my name, address, and cell phone number. I had meetings at work all day today, and did not check my cell phone until latter in the day. He actually left a voice mail on my cell phone. He basically said the following:

"they were doing the best they can for Tori and Dean, and that they continue to work very hard on the case. He is optimistic that at some point in the near future, they will get some closure on the case. They are working closely with the DA to put together the best case they can so that there is no reasonable doubt involved."

I like this statement in particular:

"It is a long road sometimes, but I hope you know that we are taking it...."

He went on to say thank you for the thoughts I had sent in my email, and he appreciated my support.

This guy seems very experienced from what I have seen on the net, and he seems to truly care. I guess I always suspected that there are good guys out there, who work in LE and care as much as we do about justice. There are probably a lot of them. In this case, I have renewed hope that one of the "good guys" is now working for Tori and Dean. I didn't call him back, because I am sure he has much more important things to do than talk to me. If this case gets solved, however, I would like to see that any detectives involved receive some recognition for staying on "that long road". God bless this detective, and God rest Tori and Dean's soul. Dana, hang in there.......this isn't over.

That is wonderful Reannan. I'm so glad that we are getting responses to our emails and glad that LE is working hard on this case. I'm taking this detective at his word and am looking forward to an arrest. I wouldn't want LE to rush in without the evidence, etc that they need to make an arrest stick. I want to see Dennis Potts put away forever. It has been a long road for everyone that loves Tori and Dean and for those that don't even know them but care anyway. I'm so glad that this detective is on the case and that he seems to care too.

I agree, after this is all over I will sure send an email thanking all of LE who stayed on the case and didn't give up. I think it is important for them to know that they are appreciated.

We will keep hanging in there and hope that this case is resolved soon. Waiting takes a toll on those who lost their loved ones. I know, I had to wait 8 long years until I finally saw justice for my daughter. It's really hard and emotionally and mentally draining to say the least. I hope that this part of the tragedy soon ends for Dayna and Roy.

Here is a banner (I made) you can all download and use in your blogs, signatures, or MySpace comments. I hope it displays properly. Below is a pre-made code that you can copy and paste for some places. It won't work here though, I had to put in the image, then both links manually to get it to display properly.

<a href="<A href="http://imageshack.us"><img">http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/8430/torianddeansmallerbi2.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/></a><br/><br><br/>
<a href="http://avoicefortorianddean.org/ "> <a>Visit this site for more info.</a><br><br/>

This is what it will look like.

I wrote down the http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/843...smallerbi2.jpg
but it said it isn't in the image place. What am I doing wrong? That was really sweet of you to go to all of this trouble for us and I would like to put the pic in my signature. Dean was such a little doll.

Download the image and host it at ImageShack yourself I guess? (I made it for people to download and use, to keep this in the public's eye until Justice is met.) If you plug (copy, then paste. Here you have to highlight the code, then press ctrl+c to copy it to your clipboard, then you can paste it, go on try and see *smile*) the direct URL in place of the URL in the code up there, that should work as long as you are careful to only replace that URL and nothing else of the code. The whole block of code should work to plug into your MySpace profile though, and it will display correctly, or it did on mine.

ETA: Or, just click on the imageshack link in the code up there to bring up the image, and copy the URL to use? That block of code works for MySpace, and some other sites. (Not here though.)

Thank you for making that for us it came out just lovely. I am going to try to download it to be in my signature. It will probably take me a while I am computer illiterate at times LOL. I just wanted to say thank you, I just love it!

-------- Original Message --------
Subject: 15 MONTHS TODAY...
From: "Dayna"
Date: Fri, October 26, 2007 3:24 pm
To: "Dayna"
Cc: "Christine" [email protected]

Good morning all,
Today marks the 15th month of our lives without Tori and Dean, without an arrest, & let's not forget; freedom for those responsible for this heinous act. I cannot believe that I am still sending out these emails, but I feel I have to until we have some sort of justice here on earth.

Don't get me wrong, we are extremely confident in those (people/agencies) in charge of our case. That said, we also feel they can use all the help they can get, so we are again asking everyone to join us today to light their 2 white candles, to say a prayer...not only Tori & Dean, but for those in charge of the case also.
This cannot be an easy job for any of them, and we pray that God is with them also on this journey.

I am also asking everyone to take a minute to say a prayer for all of those who were affected by the fires, who lost their homes, or are displaced due to them. Our hearts go out to all of them.

For anyone who did not get my update on Crime Stoppers "Light the Night 5k" event that was scheduled for Saturday, it has been canceled due to the fires this past week.
I am urging all of you who were planning on attending this event to donate the registration fees to Crime Stoppers anyways.

This was their major fund raiser for the year, and it cannot be rescheduled at this point. That said, they like many others, operate strictly on donations to run this much needed program for San Diego, and without this event they will certainly be hurting in the coming year. If that were not reason enough, please keep in mind that Crime Stoppers & only Crime Stoppers still has a reward out on Tori and Dean's case. Enough said.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have offered to still volunteer this weekend helping Crime Stoppers get the T-Shirts, goodie bags, etc out to those who want to come by & pick them up.
It is because of you that I am able to say yes to Sally when she tells me what they need us to do, without a second thought, or even checking in first.
You are the best!

Always,
Dayna Herroz

everytime I visit: http://www.avoicefortorianddean.org I end up in tears. I think about Tori and Dean almost every single day and wish there was something I could do. My voice here in NY is so little to the people in California.
The fact that someone so heartless is walking around free...
I only wish justice could be as swift as possible for all involved.
