CA - Two LA County sheriff's deputies, in cruiser, ambushed & shot, Compton, 12 Sept 2020 *arrest*

Well, well, isn't this city manager a real class act.

The shooter is a complete coward! Sneaking up on LE , then running away like a scared little girl.
When he is found I hope he can be arrested without incident. Then I hope the courts bury him under the jail, deep enough for him to feel the heat of his new home before he gets there.

Just my opinion here but I think this crime should be call what it is, a Hate Crime and handled by the Feds.

So... is the manager implying the ambushed deputies were part of a gang? Or that they looked the other way for dirty cops to commit crimes? This report has very disturbing innuendo. From the article:

“In a claim filed in June against Los Angeles County, Deputy Sheriff Austreberto Gonzalez details that roughly a fifth of the 100 deputies at the Compton Station (CPT) are a part of the gang - called the Executioners.”

Just my opinion here but I think this crime should be call what it is, a Hate Crime and handled by the Feds.

It is entirely possible this was retaliatory, but I agree with the general sentiment- 'hate crime' cannot only be reserved for targeted attacks on minorities, it is any attack on a person or group motivated by someone's -ism, whatever that -ism is.

Regarding the POI, is that the best picture that they have of the POI in this shooting? Is there only one picture out there? I'm hopeful that the FBI can clean up the image.

I doubt it was retaliatory. These two officers were recent graduates of the academy and had not even been on the job very long. I agree, it should be considered a hate crime. Further, in my opinion, the city manager is running awfully close to deserving a charge himself, aiding and abetting, conspiracy after the fact, something has to be appropriate. That quote is sickening.

I am hopeful that the female officer who was shot will be able to assist with identifying the perp. I read she was able to get out of the cruiser and call for help. Not sure about the other victim though.

She was able to radio for help and apply a tourniquet to her colleague. Hopefully she can give a description of their attacker.

One was shot in the face and one in the head. I can't even imagine how terrifying it must have been for both of them. Any updates on their status?
