CA - Two LA County sheriff's deputies, in cruiser, ambushed & shot, Compton, 12 Sept 2020 *arrest*

Yep. I was the one that said chubby female. Didn’t mean as an insult either. Perp has curvy, meaty legs & a thick middle & not very tall. Not a manly or aggressive gait. Who knows- we might be surprised when an arrest is made. There are female gang members. Jmo

the first video that was released was described by police as distorted
is there a different one that's not distorted?
I think the 'chubbiness' you see might just be baggy clothing
they also say it is a man
the hair does look like it could be pulled back in a bun/tail/net/braids tho

ETA:
add comment by police

Officials were not able to get a detailed description of the shooter other than a man. Officials cautioned that the surveillance video released from the scene uses a fish-eye lens so the suspect's height and weight may be slightly distorted.

2 LA County deputies in stable condition after being shot in Compton; search for gunman continues

The hoodie/sweatshirt was baggy. The pants seemed tight- almost like leggins. The front & back curve of the thigh & calf are visible & look similar to a moderately overweight female. I come from a family of artists & our eyes are trained to study line & movement. I didn’t mean the statement to become a point of focus. It was simply my observation. It won’t surprise me if a female is arrested. Jmo, moo, mho, etc.

The hips are what makes me say it looks like a female... and the running away motions.

I’m seeing a male. Notice his underwear hanging out? I believe he is wearing dark shorts. Look at the left leg, you can see where the baggy shorts end and thin leg begins. If you follow the leg down you can seen the sneaker top where it’s wider than the leg. I’m guessing high tops.

I have a feeling it won't be long before they catch the shooter.

What's the sentence for 2 counts of attempted murder of a police officer in Calif.?
It's life with possibility of parole with a minimum of 15 years for each count

I agree. He is wearing his shorts pulled down with his butt (underwear) showing above. I believe that explains why he is running bowlegged. That is the only way he can keep his pants on.

Hopefully, security videos caught the license plate number on the black Mercedes.

And hopefully they don't have 3 or 4 stolen plates at the ready to swap them out.

Either way, I'm glad he or she didn't have the nerve to look at the officers he or she was trying to kill. Looks to me like head is rotated to the left. Glad something threw off the aim.

Carjacking Suspect Arrested in Standoff, Department Doesn't Confirm Connection to Shooting of Deputies

SABBM:

Multiple law enforcement sources say detectives in Lynwood are increasingly confident that a suspected carjacker, who led Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies on a high speed chase Tuesday is connected with last weekend's attack on two transit patrol deputies who were shot while seated in a patrol car in Compton. <snip>

After an hourslong search, Deonte Murray, 36, was arrested after being found inside a trash can with the assistance of a K9 unit, the sheriff's department said in a nighttime news conference.
Murray has no known address but is known to frequent the area and is considered a local, the department said, and he was wanted for a carjacking performed on Sept. 1 using a high-powered rifle.

At this time, the department did not confirm that the suspect was related to the shooting of two deputies in Compton, when a gunman brazenly shot two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies as they sat in a patrol SUV at a Compton rail station on Saturday.

This article says reward increased to 300K- but last paragraph still says $200K. Either way, it’s a dang boatload of cash. You can send your kid to any private college for $200K & cash out a decent house in most of America for $300K. But if this is the guy, perhaps no one gets the funds. Idk
