I certainly don't think he's doing the right thing, for anyone.

Faisal Hussain went around killing and maiming innocent people.

The public is entitled to know about Faisal Hussain, what his beliefs were and how he got a gun.
He's not standing in anyone's way. LE isn't finished investigating. More has broken since he was identified and I'm sure we'll get even more as the investigation continues. The family wanted to release a statement. Good for them - I think it was the right thing to do. Their son did this unspeakable horrible thing, but they are still members of the community. They are affected too. I think most people in the city appreciate how the family came forward almost immediately after he was identified.

I don't see any spinning here, other than in one twisted story from The Sun.

Gosh, that’s not at all what I understood when I read the statement (allegedly) written by the family. IMO they’re absolutely devastated, well beyond imagination if any one of us were suddenly placed in the same horrible situation. I thought it was quite noble of them to acknowledge their shared grief with the victims, rather than defend their son. Neither TPS nor SIU have released any further details but I don’t read anything into the statement indicating their intent is to shut down the investigation whatsoever.

That's not what I read either. At all. <modsnip>

He visited ISIS websites and clearly knew his way around a weapon and how to kill. Has nothing to do with islamaphobia or hate--just using logic.

We’re given absolutely no indication that Hussain was a radicalized terrorist. As LE doesn't yet know his motivation, we don’t either.

“......In a statement, Canada’s Ministry of Public Safety said that the investigation into Mr. Hussain is not a matter of “national security.”

“At this time, there is no national security nexus to the investigation,” Hilary Peirce, a spokeswoman for the ministry, said.....

.......Earlier Monday at the press briefing, Chief Saunders said he would not speculate on any motive for the shooting and appealed for witnesses to come forward with information. He said it was premature to say what could have driven the suspect to launch the attack.

“It’s way too early to rule out anything,” Chief Saunders said. “That would not be serving justice well.”....”

“.....In what Loblaws is calling a “tragic coincidence,” Hussain, Fallon and Samantha Price — a young woman who was injured in the shooting — were all employees of the chain, according to an internal email sent Tuesday and obtained by the Star.

Fallon and Price worked out of the Victoria Park location, while Hussain worked in a different Loblaws and a Shoppers Drug Mart store, according to the email....”
Who is the Danforth shooter? Faisal Hussain had no criminal court files associated with his name, but a complicated past full of family misfortune | The Star

I was inquiring about a link to the pic you posted. We need to post a link, otherwise, the post may be deleted. ;)
That's what I figured, and that's why I replied with the links. First to show where it came from and then the link is to the image itself. Is there a problem?

Faisal Hussain is seen in this undated photo provided by a family friend at the request of the family.

"A police source told CP24 that in 2010, Faisal Hussain made comments to school officials at Victoria Park Collegiate Institute that led them to contact police.

According to the source, Hussain spoke about being “The Joker” from the Batman movie and talked about “liking death” and “explosions.”

The suspected gunman in the Danforth mass shooting Sunday night in Toronto was known to police for having a history of mental health concerns dating back to 2010.

A police source told Global News that 29-year-old Faisal Hussain had previously been apprehended by Toronto police twice under the mental health act.

Even if this tragedy is proven to have been a racially motivated hate crime that will not be an overly alarming finding nor is it a one-sided issue.

Hate crimes against Muslims in Canada increase 253% over four years
i

if we speculate a bit on some of the tid bits we know a really important piece imo is all along police saying it was targeted

repeatedly

that is significant it might be kinda a very ill man who might possibly have been harrassed and ridiculed by some in the area regarding either his background and or his illness or both

his mental problems can easily exacerbate the feelings of wounding or rejection etc and that night was it for him

or the insistance by le that this was targeted and learning that his hours were cut back and then learning that some some of the injured were from the same company might be a lot of info it might also fit into him walking right by some places shooting noone crossing the street - might he have been looking for co workers or establishments that would not hire him for some reason

his beliefs or notions about why his hours were cut might also have been influenced by his mental issues creating a very bad situation

might we be talking about some work related stuff his stopping and starting with the distance in between locations and cops saying targeted i think jmo might be significant

am abit confused about the family statement being like fake or something what did I miss on this angle

do we know what mom and dad it the statement was well written it might be helpful to know their vocations if there are some questions about it

From link.

To date, no member of the Hussain family has spoken publicly or made any direct contact with media. Reports describe a family facing extensive challenges, as Hussain’s father is reportedly in and out of hospital with health issues, Hussain’s brother is in a coma and his sister died in a car crash several years ago.

.....

It seems that the “family” is the mother, w/ sister deceased, brother in coma & father in and out of hospital it’s the mother’s statement, which I don’t believe.

Reuters is reporting that ISIS has claimed responsibility for a fatal shooting on Danforth Avenue on Sunday, citing a report from the group’s AMAQ news agency. The information is unsubstantiated and has not been confirmed by Canadian officials.

It was never from his 'family' but from a professional activist.

Seeing comments on twitter expressing frustration with the spin. I feel so sorry for the people of Toronto.
