I think it was one of the media people sitting at the end of the Airdrie acreage driveway on July 5 that tweeted something about bodies being found. Then he removed the comment. Maybe he was listening to police scanners and heard something like "got something", and he assumed it was bodies.
No I remember the tweet myself. The guy claimed to be with search and rescue and a ham radio operator. It is, Im sure, back in early threads. From around July 6th - 12th would be my best guess. He was tweeting from the roadside in Airdrie.I know there was confusion with the Ontario family being found and the reporter did say maybe they found a body the day the ambulance was out there for the LE heat caution. IMO

Yes that is correct Cherchri and IIRC our WS Kittymeow was on scene as well. But you are correct it had nothing to do with the family in Ontario found in vehicle. I will see if I can find a link of the tweeter. No I remember the tweet myself. The guy claimed to be with search and rescue and a ham radio operator. It is, Im sure, back in early threads. not really important info but here goes; so the L's house was valued at $693k, sold for $705, which there was a lease back arrangement with the new owner at about $1000 per mo and some left over for bills and such, bla-bla-bla. [modsnip]

The black SUV on the Airdrie property. Was it ever removed?
I was thinking last night about how AL was a larger person than DG. We have talked about DG and his involvement with chemicals. So I thought what if he arrived at AL's house and whoever answered the door got a face full of chemical. Your first reaction would be to put your hands up to your eyes and you sure would be an easy target to whack on the head. We had a friend tell us once to not keep a weapon by your bed but keep a can of spider or wasp spray. It would sure stop an intruder.
sillybilly, was just looking at your (fabulous) timeline and only noticed only AL's patents on there. I thought DG's were on there also, unless they are and I missed them(?) Not sure...
Anyways, I noticed while looking at the patent info website there's also a Douglas B Garland that filed a patent I think the same as the DG one on there. Looks like possibly another alias. DBG might've been used at some point or it's a typo/mistake.
Or are these not the same DG??? I'm not sure if it's the same DG, although I think it is, can't remember the discussion on WS about DG's patents in detail.

If that is the house that Alvin and Kathryn bought in Edmonton (or Evanburg), doesn't it seem a bit fishy? Is it believable that they were going to live there, or was that simply an address to use while living in Mexico ... more or less an address in Canada so they could access pension, health care, and other benefit of being Canadian?
I don't know. I might do the same thing if I was dealing with a bankruptcy at a time in my life when I want to be retiring. I'm an Albertan through and through, if my financial fortunes took a big hit, I'd liquidate everything I can and move to a small town not too far from an urban center (Calgary or Edmonton) so I could take advantage of really low real estate prices.
I'm no expert but I think most Canadian retirees maintain a home base in Canada when they live the "snowbird" lifestyle. I've seen a lot of retired acquaintances downsize to an efficient small house or condo for the part of the year they spend in Canada. I don't expect many move to Mexico (or other warm places) permanently. As for pension and Canadian health care or benefits, by the time I retire, I would consider it something I have earned and am entitled to.
IMHO
