ok, I know we've seen all the chief hanson interviews but does he slip at the end of this interview on whether they are murdered or alive?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnOox1wWbIU

He said "locating the missing people" at the end. Which, may suggest that they are not "bodies" as in deceased, nor did he say "victims". It was an interesting choice of words.

There is a good chance this is the third crime scene. Read the caption under the main photo, "Search and Rescue....."

Yep, this was the extremely quiet search and the only info was in the photo caption and I think in only this news publication. I was sure this had some importance. I think this definitely could be the third scene as it was SAR that was there.

We did have a discussion about it too, as IIRC I was asking if ME had to be on scene if they found remains and questioning why SAR would be there and not CPS and/or ME.

Maps were also posted here on WS because were talking about what types of businesses were in the vicinity - and there were car/truck rentals, storage facilities, motels, the agriculture buildings, the old Cam Clarke Ford dealership, etc.

The location is right off the highway also. I remember being extremely eager about the area and one of our fellow WSer's drove by the next day to check out if the building was abandoned or not (who was that WSer? Can't remember now, but she gave us lots of info).

I seem to recall that it was reported LE was searching a neighbouring acreage, not owned by the Garlands. I was confused at the time I read that, not knowing for sure if they meant the Garland's acreage or another. I can try to dig that up. Does anyone else recall that? Is it possible that the truck could be considered a 'crme scene'? But even if so, then it wouldn't have required the services of SAR. Thinking out loud...

Yes, I remember that. :)

SAR I would think would automatically be called in to look for missing people, especially in the case of an Amber Alert...and especially when LE has found evidence of a violent incident where someone may be in medical distress. I don't really think it's unusual, I think it's more of a proactive approach. JMO

I am leaning towards this as my answer. Thanks for the help.

It certainly would make sense.

I think someone (maybe Otto?) explained this to me earlier when discussing the why SAR was searching the old Cam Clarke Ford building, but can someone refresh this for me or correct me if I have this wrong, as I get confused what they all do in relation to crime scenes:

SAR - used to recover persons alive or deceased
CPS - used for searches and collection of crime evidence/forensics
ME- called when a person has been injured or death

I remember when I first read the news article about the old CCF area being searched and saw the it was SAR there, I was on pins and needles hoping the family were to be found alive in a storage locker or rented trailer or something. I had such hope.

I am looking for some clarification... Is CH's husband KH? Is it possible that was a name misprint early on and since than all the media and interviews have not ever corrected or verified it? I have seen his name two other ways and that is K Ainskow and Heilbrunn, MD. Has that been sorted out already?

Those job descriptions would be my take as well.

IIRC, we were all mainly intrigued by the business that incinerates animals. That would seem a likely disposal method. The question remained if DG had any access to that business and what could be his connection if any. I don't recall if we were able to ascertain any answers though.

I thought it could be a routine part of the search because they lived on an agricultural property. I wonder what the hours of operation are and if there is a protocol to view what is being incinerated for legal reasons?

I'm REALLY hoping the livestock/post mortem agriculture building wasn't involved. I'm really, really hoping it's not a place any joe can drive up to to dump livestock. I'm hoping it's monitored or that you need ID or to 'check in' your cargo before using. I would assume they had government hours (it was a government building I thought, or it might've been the other agriculture building around there that were) so I'm hoping DG did not go or use it.

There were lots of buildings of interest in that general area, so could be many things.

Terribly tragic….The memorial today sounded like it was peaceful, and beautiful yet emotional and sad. I hope they can heal from this.

Exactly! I have the same questions, sorry I was slow and just read yours now! :) But yeah, was this a government building with government hours? Do you need a membership or have to pay a fee to use? I would hope it's monitored somehow either with checking in or CCTV.

I mentioned in my post too - I really hope this place isn't connected, but the fact that it's not being published or mentioned makes me think it might've been. Maybe there was human DNA found to confirm death. Argh, please let this not be the case :( I would be very distraught over this.

The whole thing was VERY hush-hush! A large LE presence and if SAR was there, I would venture a guess that they were brought in *because* they found something, not as a routine search.

Did we find out any information about the business and if DG was connected to it in any way that could have given him access? I would think it would be fairly secure and not easily breached.

I wasn't planning on it. Is that my cue to get offline? Lol!

Of course not! It was the way Tink's post was worded, it sounded like you were going to sleep!
