Missing women focus of meeting

Provincial cabinet ministers and aboriginal leaders begin a two-day meeting today on missing and slain aboriginal women, but there is no sign the two sides are close to an agreement on calls for a national inquiry.

[snip]

"The bickering back and forth isn't helping find solutions. They just need to sit down and let the egos rest and something that actually helps the families," said Faron Girouard, brother of Amber Guiboche, who went missing two years ago at age 19.

Ok, so where is her BF? She has a photo album dedicated to him (or who I assume is her boyfriend) on her facebook.. Secondly, she has some crazy bruises on her arms in her pictures. Someone asked where she got them from and she said she had gotten jumped? I don't know but this case is really sketchy. Could it be that she was involved in some bad activity such as a gang or something? I don't know her area that well, is there gang activity there?

"WINNIPEG—A small monument to missing and murdered aboriginal women has been unveiled in Winnipeg.

The two-metre-high granite statue is shaped in the form of a woman.

There’s an opening in the middle designed to let sunlight through.

Families of some missing and murdered women in Manitoba were at the unveiling and laid tobacco at the monument’s base".

Kematch has searched for his sister and others’ loved ones for six years. Police have had few breaks in his sister’s case and don’t discuss them with the family, Kematch said.
“When it comes to the investigation part, they don’t tell me nothing. I don’t expect them to because I don’t want them to jeopardize (the case),” Kematch said. “The point of the matter is I just want to bring her home.”

The outline of the word 'Chevrolet' is across the tailgate.

“He did it because people weren't looking for them or stopped, and he wanted to find them. Because if they're not looking, who's looking?" Kyrra said.

"I want to carry that on."

Kematch died last Thursday. He leaves behind four children.

He's remembered as a selfless man who spent years tirelessly searching the Red River and its banks for any clues into the disappearances and murders of too many Manitobans.

Kematch was also looking for any signs of his sister, Amber Guiboche, who disappeared in 2010.

Kyrra said she always admired her father for never giving up hope for his sister and many others.

After his passing last week, Kematch's oldest daughter now hopes to find closure herself by searching the same river.
