If this is Amber, I hope that LE can then move forward with an arrest. My theory still hasn't changed from day one. :furious:

Heathbell does this sound familiar to this case in some wayor to someone connected to this case or where they were searching?

Seems like it may be related (bbm)... :(

Relate to a search warrant - I wonder if someone turned in a tip. This really doesn't sound good. However, I thought that she was likely dead from the beginning. It will be good for her family to be able to lay her to rest IF it is her. :sigh: I sincerely hope that justice will be served in this case.

According to an RCMP news release, officers located the remains early Saturday afternoon after a search warrant was executed in relation to the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Amber Kirwan.

Police and Forensic Identification Specialists remained at the scene Saturday evening and were assisting in the removal of the remains.
Police are working with the medical examiner’s office to identify the remains and to determine a cause of death.

I live in NS & I have never heard of this area. Looking at the map it seems to be either fields or woods. They are so lucky to even find her and thankfully they did. Here is a link to my first time linking to a map. I hope it works as it gives a good idea what searchers were up against. BTW small areas will run in all directions to the next area.

ETA YEAH, I see that didn't work so well lol.

I think this is the area? It's about 15 to 18 miles from New Glasgow.

Wow! A very stressful time for Amber's family as they wait for confirmation. So sorry that they have to go through this. :(

I am in the Heathbell area and soon as I heard about them searching here the first time I thought oof an old case from here. http://www.ngnews.ca/Justice/2008-06-11/article-320062/Cabbie-killer-gets-six-trips-out-of-jail/1 Where the remains were found is a 25 minute drive from where Amber disappeared

I would hope that you are correct. My only dash to that hope is that they say that this was a search warrant in relation to the investigation into Amber's disappearance. Still hoping here!

No! Very sad for her parents, brother and friends. Can't imagine how they are feeling

Heathbell !! I remember that area what searched for days, by the RCMP, helicopter, K-9 and SARS and 'items' where found.

I am thinking that perhaps some forensic results were back from Ottawa, and that's why LE went back again today? :(

Prayers

Does anyone recall what took LE out to the Heathbell area to search originally? (i.e. several weeks ago)

Was it a specific tip?

And now they find human remains there. Must be more than coincidence.

Info about original search in Heathbell area:

MacDonald says investigators continue to follow up on tips and information provided by the public, including searching wooded and water areas at various locations in Pictou County. On Saturday, the focus of that search seemed to be centered along Heathbell Road in the Scotch Hill area.

During the searches, he said, items of interest have been located and are being processed by forensic services to determine their evidentiary value in the case.

Cannot tell if this search area was from a specific tip or not.

Nobody else is missing in this area that I know of and this search sounds to be really specific in that a search warrant was used to search the property.

Godspeed to the police and medical examiner to get the answers needed to proceed with arrest(s), conviction(s) and justice.

There is little doubt in my mind but what this is Amber. May the Kirwan family soon get some answers and may justice takes its rightful course swiftly.

It makes me wonder if the original items found were near the private land and the owners would not give access. They verified that the items were Ambers, they watched the property, they got a search warrant, they found a body. Amber's poor family. My prayers are certainly with them tonight.

I was too trying to remember what was it that made LE go search that particular area, in the first place.

I seem to recall something, but want to stress this didn't come from LE nor a news article. We know how much more info we have read from locals posting in other sites, that now it is a bit hard trying to separate what is 'fact' and what is not. So please, take this with a grain of salt, and don't quote me...what I believe it was said is 'you know who' had some connection to that area, that "YKW" had lived there, perhaps grew up there? :dunno: Does someone else seem to remember hearing this?
