Knowing that Amber was scared to walk alone just breaks my heart all the more. She must have been already terrified as she left her friends and headed to the convenience store that night.

I feel great respect and compassion for Amber's mom; but I'll never understand why she would speak well of Mason Campbell.

From the second article quoted below, this is the first I'm hearing that--from a picture--two of today's witnesses could identify the stamp from Dooly's on Amber's hand.

Amber went missing in the early morning hours of October 9, 2011; and was found on November 5, 2011.

The thought that he may have kept her alive is overwhelming. O.M.G.

Nova Scotia teen Amber Kirwan died from a loss of blood after she was stabbed multiple times, according to the Crown prosecutor.

The trial for her accused killer, Christopher Falconer, moved forward with opening statements on Tuesday in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.

Falconer, 31, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder.

No not really. We expected the Kirwans to speak for their daugther. Her friends also testified about their night together and identified the clothing she was wearing that night. Special attention by the Crown was also given to the hand stamp they received from Dooleys that night.

I just want to take a minute to warn people that this is only the start of the trial and the Crown has warned everyone that the details coming out will be "gruesome". It is a court of a law and the facts of the case will be heard. As reporters, we are not passing judgement either way when we report on the evidence, but it will difficult for many people to hear.

Falconer will not necessarily testify at this trial. The crown says we will hear from the accused via text messages etc.
