Murder still jumps to the top of a newscast when it happens. But anyone who reports on it will tell you the public interest drops off exponentially, especially once the crime has been solved.

I didn't make the connection until late last year when I was standing at another terrible crime scene. It was the place where Amber Kirwan's body had been left in the deep woods of Pictou County.

This article really isn't talking about Amber at all, but since her name was in the article, I thought it brought a good reason to :bump: her thread.

When will there be justice for Amber?

A monument in memory of Amber Kirwan is going to be placed on the Samson Trail in New Glasgow....The citizens group is the one that approached the town on the project. They worked with the town and Amber's family to decide on the monument's location and design.

I am so terribly sad that there is still no arrest - still noone held responsible - for the brutal murder of Amber. I hope that justice is found soon for her and for her family.

2 adults arrested in Amber Kirwan homicide

The RCMP have not said who they are or when they were taken into custody.

A news conference has been scheduled for Thursday morning at 9 a.m. at the New Glasgow Police headquarters. The chief of the New Glasgow Police Service and the RCMP officer in charge of policing in northern Nova Scotia are expected to attend.

At the time of Amber's murder he was out of jail. They searched his property. He's probably one of the two. My guess his stepsister is another one. She allegedly owns the house.

Finally! When I signed on to Facebook this morning, the Pictou group I'm in was full of chatter. No one seems to know for sure who was arrested but people are saying it's not MC as he has been on Facebook since the arrests (just facebook gossip at this point thou)...

I too cannot wait to hear who the two people arrested are. We'll find out tomorrow.

I guess it took this long for the DNA results to come in.

This man is a monster!!! How could he have ever been let out of jail. I am so happy for her family right now that justice will be served. Now Amber may you finally rest in peace <3
