I don’t know, this lawsuit was for 20% of the value of Apotex, at least a billion dollars. Voluntarily giving a few million to vanity projects is one thing but as Apotex isn’t a publicly listed company, the cousins involved as Apotex shareholders or wanting to cash in would’ve created a humungous mess IMO.
If I were one of the Sherman children, whether or not I’d urge the Estate to proceed with legal collection action would depend on how much stress and anguish this lawsuit caused the parents during all those years. To represent their wishes, I’d make that decision and go from there.
I've heard numbers quoted in the 100 million dollar mark that Barry invested in Frank's failed projects, including movies, films, a brewery and even his home. That's not chump change. Probably one of the reasons JS was always so incensed over his father's refusal to fund some of his projects.
