''The Sherman family hired a team of private investigators, who claimed police did not fingerprint domestic staff with access to the family’s home until “well” into the investigation and said police ignored possible evidence of forced entry into their home.'

Did the housekeepers mention the so-called hatred B had for H? Were they interviewed by LE?

At this point in time, years later, who are the main suspects? Just the NW or others? I’m trying to condense all of this to keep it clear.
Have LE completely ruled out murder-suicide?
Has anyone gotten the money from the will yet?
1. The police are not saying much other than the NW is a person of interest. (we all have our own mini list on whom we think are or should be a suspect lol)
2. I think so
3. The will: Slain billionaire Barry Sherman's will divided estate equally among four children
I don't recall the news saying the funds have definitely been distributed, but I assume it has as it has been 5 years since the murders

I’m starting to think the NW is a dead end OR someone paid to walk that route as a ruse for LE.

  • #449
I have been considering the suggestions by some that BS had someone in the car with him when he arrived home. I assume thatLE has obtained camera footage from different cameras at apotex, and on roadways etc. between apoTex and his home on the night of the murders. Surely they would have done this and would therefore know if BS stopped anywhere after leaving his office. Is it possible that LE failed to gather this video evidence? Even I can’t believe they wouldn’t have done that.

Other than being in the area and close to the Sherman house on the night of the murders, we really don’t know of any evidence that exists that would link the NW to these murders. Police may have more than they are letting on. But just because LE can’t identify him doesn’t make him a murderer.

I'm sure they did (crossing fingers, hoping!).. but even if they did, the person may have been in the backseat, on the floor or whatever.. unable to be seen by cameras. Didn't JS/AP's business have their office at the Apo building?

Police have only pointed out the one suspect, as far as I'm aware, however they haven't ruled anyone else OUT either. It seems LE is at least considering that this NW person could have been a hired person acting on behalf of someone else.

Price said he could not exclude anybody with 100 per cent certainty, because even if a person was ruled out as the person in the video, that person could have been involved in some way.

The inside story of how Toronto police zeroed in the Sherman murder ‘suspect’ with the odd gait
----
Also, at the time of Brandon Price's press conference in December 2021 when the 'nightwalker' was made public, he indicated the possibility of someone else pulling the strings:

19:28
BP: There's other avenues of investigation that we have undertaken and are ongoing. Um, this is certainly a valuable piece of evidence though.

Reporter asking about numerous persons of interest mentioned a year ago and whether police have compared with the suspect in the video.

20:00
BP: So, I don't like to say that we've excluded people or included people specifically, so I certainly won't get into that. Um, but it's a consideration now, the fact is that nobody can be uh, 100% excluded, because there's always a possibility, and we'll keep an open mind to, that there's more than the one individual who executes the uh action, that may be culpable. So we're certainly keeping an open mind to that and so....

-----

LE ruled it a double homicide back in January 2018, whereas up until that point, they were publicly at least, saying the deaths were one of three possibilities. So yes, when they publicly declared it was a targeted double homicide, they completely ruled out M/S. imo.
----

I remember JS stating in an article (found it, portion is pasted below) that he had paid back all of the monies he owed back to the estate (apparently even though he also reportedly believes he never needed to repay any of the money - so does 'every dollar borrowed' translate into 'zero dollars'?), after he received the first payout from his portion of the estate, so it sounds like the kids have definitely started receiving monies, by latest, the end of 2020. But I believe most of the money was tied up in Apotex, so the business would need to be sold (which is apparently in progress now) before they would ever see the largest portions of their inheritance.

Our conversation continues. I tell him that no bank mortgages were registered on his storage properties in late November or early December 2017, as his father had requested. JS said they did “start conversations with the banks” but due to the deaths of his parents and the eventual division of the multibillion dollar Sherman estate — which was divided equally among the four siblings — the financing was not necessary. The $580 million legal judgment against Apotex was reduced during a negotiation and later paid, Jonathon told me.

As to the $125 million in interest-free loans his father had advanced his company over the years, JS said he paid that money back to the Sherman estate from his first “dispersal” of funds from the estate. (The money is being released to the four children in stages, although much of the fortune is tied up in Apotex which remains for sale.) “Every dollar borrowed has been returned,” he says.

As to the request from his father to repay the $50 million to $60 million, JS tells me that my questions are making “a lot more of that request” than he did at the time. “We never really saw it as a threat,” JS says.
He says a shareholder agreement existed between father and son that said “we never have to give you back any money.”

Barry Sherman’s son says his father asked him to repay tens of millions of dollars, two weeks before murders, but Barry was ‘all in’ with son’s business

Yes but the parking lot cameras at apotex would have captured an image or video if someone got into the back of BS car and hid there. I assume LE checked this

Did LE forensically examine B and H cars?

Yes, the police towed away both cars and I assume they were examined. We have no idea if they found anything of value to the investigation.

Yes.. what if they didn't go back far enough? Did they review the entire day from when he first arrived? Or just around the time he was to leave? Or ... ??

I meant did they examine both cars for hairs, fibres, all the usual stuff? Fingerprints, mud, grasses, everything. Blood even. Everything!

Both vehicles were shown being towed away for forensic examination, albeit at different times.

A month after the deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman, Toronto police towed a second vehicle from their North York home.
....
The car removed from the property was a silver 1999 Ford convertible registered under Honey Sherman’s name.

It’s the second car to be towed since the investigation into the deaths of the Shermans, which have been deemed suspicious by police, began last month.

Lengthy article..
Oct 27 2022

'Toronto homicide detectives believe information in five countries may hold the key to who killed Barry and Honey Sherman, a Toronto court has heard.

“The bulk of the investigation so far has been in Canada, but it is taking on a bit of an international flair,” said Detective Constable Dennis Yim, the lone detective working full-time on the probe.'

''Yim told court during cross-examination that if he identified the countries publicly it would alert the killer or killers that police are on to them. He also would not say if the countries are of interest because the suspect lives there, visits there, banks there or has some other connection. And, if the person is not the killer, Yim said he did not want to “prejudice” an innocent party by informing the public that people believed the person was involved in the murders.''

''Yim said that his next step, once he receives all of the MLAT information from outside Canada, is to incorporate it into a new domestic production order (similar to a search warrant but dealing with banking, cellular telephone or some other type of data) he hopes to have approved by a court in 2023.''

Thanks for the update. I just read the article and boy this is a very slow process.....as far as the NW goes the article says:
"Yim said they have failed to identify him. He is believed to be either the killer or a lookout."

Also,
"He revealed that the domestic investigation — banking and cellular telephone records, and looking at the whereabouts and alibis of certain people at the time of the murders — has caused them to begin looking overseas for information. It’s a complicated process, with a lot of international red tape, and it may take years."

Who else was overseas when this happened? We all know who just arrive back!

It's already been 5 years and according to this it may be many more years! I am starting to think this might never get solved, crazy slow process and unacceptable in my opinion!
