My only problem with that is that if it were an act of rage it would be unlikely that he would use a belt. He would have used his hands and that would leave marks. Check my post above for an alternate scenario.

Do we know that there are not such marks?

About 10 seconds is what I've read. Quite long really if you count it out.

Thank god most people who try to throttle you are trying to cut off your windpipe! It gives you much longer to fight back.

You don't have to be feet-off-the-ground hanging to hang yourself. All you need to do is lean. Apparently, you black out very quickly, then gravity keeps you in place.

Robin Williams is an example.

True but this was a "double hanging" of a husband and wife which is or would be IMO ultra rare to see in murder suicides. Very strange.
Robin Williams was suffering from severe depression when he committed suicide. Not sure if Mr. Sherman or his wife were depressed. JMO.

We don’t know anything really except for COD and it is being investigated as a suspicious death. The rest is all rumour or speculation or unnamed sources.

If one buys the double suicide or murder/suicide scenario, they could have hung the belts/ropes from the railings, secured their arms with the jackets and then simply laid facedown placing heads into belt. the belts would obviously have been set to constrict their throats but gravity might do that....... It would explain the straight legged posture. I believe thats how L'Wren did it, from a doorknob.

This is one position I had not considered as I had envisioned them seated overlooking the pool. I would like to say "thank you," but that seems kind of macabre.

If it was a murder suicide and if it was Mr. Sherman who did the killing of his wife then himself. If Mrs. Sherman was strangled by her husband and died then why was her jacket also pulled down her arms like a restraint IF she was already dead? Time of death for both and COD/MOD would be an important factor to determine if this was a murder suicide. JMO

Exactly my point. We don’t even known what is and isn’t known. It’s all speculating and trying to read the tea leaves at this point. Police silence is pretty much the theme right now.

I wish we knew what there interactions were like in the week running up to their deaths. I don’t really understand going to meet your architect if you planned to kill yourself and murder your wife, why would you waste your time going to a meeting about a house you knew would likely never be built?

Agree totally!

I think you are trying to insert rational analysis into irrational behaviour. People who commit suicide often do completely normal things up until they end their life.

Or, he didn't intend to kill but it happened?

And in this scenario, what would be the point of the arms constricted in the jacket?

Anything is possible. I was addressing the specific supposition that it was planned and premeditated.

If it is murder-suicide, it would be my belief that it was unintentional. Something perhaps happened in a fit of anger. With all the other bizarre speculations out there...I will give one as well. Perhaps Honey was having an affair (it is not unusual for extra marital activities) and Barry found out and wanted her to end the affair. Honey was very good looking, youthful in her appearance, described as very outgoing and her husband worked long hours. Being a very social person, I would imagine she would have made many male friends of her own. And who exactly was the trainer who was trying to get into the house when TPS had the house surrounded?

It looks like most of you think it was murder/suicide. Barry must have been a very depressed/distraught man if this is the case.

So they posted the floor plans and home info along with saying he is one of the richest people in Canada. Unbelievable. They should have immediately had a state of the art security system put in. We still do not know if they were robbed.

I am pretty sure that that would have been released if it were the case and the first announcement of murder/suicide not have been made.

To stop the natural instinct to rip things away from ones throat. Prevents the one being murdered from fighting as well.

No if this was rage, things would not have been this clean and neat.
