I don't envy their healthcare system. They pay a lot more in taxes than we in the US do. Nothing is free.

Yes, we pay an atrocious amount of money in taxes. But I cannot say one bad thing about our health care system.
If you are suddenly hit with a catastrophic illness, you don't have to worry about how to pay for anything.

Without going into detail, I'd hate to see what its cost to keep my small clan ticking over. You go for many years, never get more than a cold, then BAM!! One, two, three dreadful occurrences. In the US, we wouldn't have a home to live in. I have American relatives, so know it to be true.

Please remember, our taxes are wasted on many, many other things......but having health care isn't a waste, IMO

"Toronto homicide Det. Brandon Price told reporters outside the couple's home on Friday that police "cannot say 100 per cent with certainty" whether or not foul play was involved. Police have said there were no signs of forced entry into the home, and that police were not searching for any outstanding suspects."

That was two weeks ago, Otto. It may still be true...or not. We just don’t know. Investigations take time and may never yield enough info to make an accurate statement. I’m still fence-sitting and I’d sure like to hop down.

I was thinking today Barry Sherman and Honey would be in Florida enjoying the warmth, the company of their friends and family and ringing in the New Year tomorrow. How life turns on a dime.

I'm going to believe what the police have said until such time that they say something different. According to homicide detectives, they are not looking for any outstanding suspects, which is consistent with the murder suicide theory where the only suspect is already dead. I see no reason to doubt statements that police made because at some time in the future something might change. As of today, two weeks after the deaths, nothing has changed.

It does seem suspicious to me that their deaths weren't discovered until late Friday morning.

I can't help thinking that it's no coincidence. Two busy people with no appointments, no phone calls from family or friends worried because they can't get through, domestic staff who don't find it unusual their cars are parked outside but they're not visible inside the home. It doesn't feel as if that happened by chance but that arrangements were made for people not to look for them. Perhaps that late alleged email was Barry saying he would be taking time off. Perhaps a note was left for the staff telling them they weren't needed because they were going away. It could be why police jumped to the early theory it was suicide.

If it is the case, and this is all just speculation, and this was murder/suicide, I can't see why there would be a need to make those kinds of arrangements, given they would be found Friday anyway. It seems to fit better with a murder, giving the trail time to go cold. Maybe it's not worth speculating but that time delay does seem quite odd for people with their lifestyles. I don't know how Honey was occupied most days but I can imagine her diary was quite busy and a lot of telephone networking, yet no one raised the alarm. The morning after a light snowfall when foot prints and tire tracks would have been very useful to police.

Has Honey's fitness trainer been discussed? There is no much information, if any, on him in the media.

It started snowing in the middle of the Wednesday night......and was snowing lightly but constantly by Thursday morning. Why were there no footprints? Had the perp got away before the snow started to fall? Due to the cold, the snow stayed around but wasn't deep.

nope. Nothing on him except that he left visibly upset after speaking with officers. In shock no doubt.

So someone mentioned a possible hit from a rival company. What about the cousins?

Imagine they were top of the list, interviewed and released. Doesn't mean they didn't hire a hit man though.......

He is not a suspect or a named person of interest.

I’m not doubting LE, but the snippet you posted made it sound like they had just made this comment yesterday, if I hadn’t opened the link and been reminded that it was two weeks ago. So, I think it’s important to put info in accurate context, and that’s simply what my post was doing...not casting doubt on LE.

As of two weeks ago, LE wasn’t looking for any outstanding homicide suspects. I believed them. That may still be their position or it might not. It’s not doubting LE to keep an open mind on that. It’s just sitting tight waiting for further info. We can’t definitely say nothing has changed, or that something has changed, only that we haven’t been told whether it’s changed or not. LE doesn’t have to tell us anything.

I think the timing is key. Whatever happened was related to her leaving for Florida in a few days. It had to happen when it did or it was too late. Whether that was murder suicide or a double murder. That means Honey was as much a target as Barry. Otherwise it could have waited until she left.

I'm getting the impression that we can't believe anything attributed to "police sources" unless the names of the officers are mentioned, and we can't believe named homicide detectives if they don't repeat their statements frequently. It seems like this discussion is about doubting everything we know in order to believe something that has not been said. This approach to understanding what really happened is new to me.

Does anyone know why the Sherman's had their house up for sale?

So, it had to be someone who knew they had plans to go to Florida? or BS had to make his move that night?
What if Honey was in the wrong place at the wrong time? Collateral damage, so to say.

They had bought another house in 2016 which was very recently demolished to make way for a new build for them to move to.

O/T Did the entire WS formatting suddenly change? Everything looking very large for me now.

Edit: the page went to mobile format suddenly. Back to normal now lol.

Try scrolling right down to the bottom of the page and see if it says something like click here for (something or other) version. Sometimes I find if I do a search it takes me to an older formatting. I don't know if that will fix it for you.

Credit goes to Peace777 for finding this article. Gonna raise some eyebrows I think.

Note the basement meetings in Bridle Path.

This one might raise the hair on the back of anyone's neck, imo.

Khavari’s connections to Canada are noteworthy. To begin with, he and his immediate family are reportedly Canadian citizens. As recently as 2007, he purchased a CAD 2.93 million home in one of Toronto’s most exclusive neighborhoods, Bridle Path. In 2001, he bought a home with his wife in Toronto’s North York neighborhood, taking out a mortgage of CAD 615,000. At a certain point, Khavari also owned a Toronto-based company called Soaring Properties (it is unclear if he still owns it).

I don't think so. Whoever it was knew their plans. A professional hitman surely would know those details. Barry obviously knew if it was him. This was not a random murder by someone not known to them, that is for sure.
