The housekeeper, she said, admitted that she was scared and said that when she walked into the house that morning, she could feel “something heavy in the air.”
This passage makes me sad. It’s amazing what people intuit. Plus there was the fact that Honey’s car was there but no sign of Honey or Barry and the beds weren’t slept in. Yikes.

Then there was Honey’s phone on the floor. I guess such is the discreet and unassuming role of the housekeeper that she would not look for them or alert anyone (who would she know to contact?) or even think of calling the police.

For all she knew there could have been a medical emergency the night before, and Honey and Barry had spent the night in the hospital. Even that could leave a heavy feel.

I feel for these people who were there that morning. Plus they lost their jobs.

The listing for 48 Old Colony Rd expired two weeks ago. Between the real estate market and the murders it's going to be hard to sell.
she shouldnt have bought in the first place ..if she didnt want it for herself ! feeding the greedy bunch
can you imagin how creepy that demolition was..with everything inside..

The kids were the ones who demolished it.

I agree though: I wouldn’t want to own that land or profit from it.

Can anyone find the interview the realtor had with police?
I had seen some posts on the redacted details on the court documents that included all the witness statements, the article I quoted was in post #491 was one of those remarks as I recall.

She used the side door and didn't use the key in the lockbox. The other realtor let her inView attachment 446993

Awesome, thank you for the correction to my post!. Appreciate the back up!

Response # d. Do we have the housekeepers interview to match up with what STERN is providing as 3rd party information? If the housekeeper let the buying agent in, IMO that would be via the front door not the side door, but if the lock box is on the side door, the listing instructions to the buyers agent could be to go to the side door for the key. In Ontario, in all cases the agent is to knock on the door loudly before using the lock box and key to enter on their own. (hmm could the Thursday visitor have been a buyers agent checking out the home before taking the clients for a tour)

Response # h. confuses me: STERN states side door is usually unlocked, then states the visiting agent unlocked the side door and let her in that morning. Possibly the doors are only unlocked when HS was home, already been in and out and or expecting someone? Did BS usually lock the front door after collecting the morning paper? Did HS unlock the door in the mornings for the many staff that go in and out, remember the housekeeper usually had to use a code to disarm the alarm, was this because she is normally the first staff to arrive and it is off for the remainder of the day?

Wish we knew what day and time the alarm system was decommissioned.

Do you know her personally? I do not, are we sure the purchaser did not want to build on it for themselves when they purchased? The borrowing rate has increased considerably since the purchase, possibly they can no longer afford to continue with the initial plan?

I wonder how well BS knew SK Capital, and was he in talks re selling Apotex before his demise?
Thank you Addy,

I am trying to read this one, but the first detail - their title for the article, they share is not correct:

Billionaire founder was found dead in his home in 2018

It is difficult for me to trust the rest of the content? IMO this is not a journalist who has investigated the case and is reporting the actual facts, IMO it is a writer that has copied a story and tried to use words to make it their own.

Some people put their alarm on after they leave their house while others and/or put it on after they are in their house. Which one was it for HS? One or both? Also, was the killer in the house before or after HS came home?
If before and the alarm was on, how did the killer get in without triggering the alarm? Did he know the code?

Here's Apotex official statement, but I don't know if it's an acceptable source I can quote. The previous link was from CBC news re acquisition.

Very interesting thought @Bobbi Pearl. I don’t know why we haven’t read that as a possibility before. There is a lock box on the door for heaven’s sake.

If it was a possible buyer, wouldn't they have called the realtor to let them know they might have an interested buyer? Any realtors here to tell us about protocol?

Yes, I'm sure. But there's still no reason to release it to the public, since the person seemingly had no evidence to give the investigation.

I think it’s a great theory too, it fits. But why wouldn’t the Sherman side be aware of who it was? You have to confirm bookings with the realtor’s office. They would have given him the code for the lock box on Thursday morning. (Based on my experience knowing an agent and I’ve bought and sold a few homes.)

The agent spoke with KD and she’s friends with the family. Unless she and her office were told by police not to mention it to anyone.

Also, I can’t tell from the photos, but wouldn’t the front door have an internal safety latch? When I sold my last home I’d remove the lock box at night and latch it from inside just to be safe.

I suspect she may not have set it since she knew Barry would be home soon to take the call from the lawyer, so she may not have bothered. With them having no working cameras and with so many people coming and going, I wouldn't be surprised if they only armed it at the end of the day. It didn't seem like security was a priority.

'Macatangay collected the paper, and the mail, and she and the trainer walked to the side door. It was locked. Macatangay used her key and was surprised to find the alarm system was off. As she later told police, it was always armed when she arrived. Honey’s aging gold Lexus SUV was in its regular spot by the side door.
Around the same time, a white van from a furnace company showed up. It was a regular service call by Allan Caruk. The 12,000-square-foot house had four furnaces. Caruk followed the housekeeper and trainer inside. He took his tools and went down to the furnace room in the cavernous basement.'
Ok this has always concerned me. “Macatangay collected the paper…”. IF the Sherman’s were murdered onWed night, what didn’t she collect the papers? There should have been 2 morning papers on the porch- Thursday and Friday. Yet she picked up the paper (singular). Assuming it was Friday’s paper on the porch, where was Thursday’s paper? Was it found in the house, and if so, how could it possibly have gotten there? Has LE even considered this?

KD kept reporting that there was one paper and that’s what the housekeeper is quoted as saying in the court documents. But this year KD said there were two papers. (It may have been in one of his Q & As). I can’t search for it at the moment.

I recall something like this too, but I can’t recall exactly.

I just looked at the documentary and in the first few minutes KD said the housekeeper arrived to find the papers outside and they showed two Toronto Star newspapers wrapped up on the ground.

I think someone asked him about it in one q&a, too.

Annoying that the error is in the affidavits.

Wasn't there a home inspection on Wednesday December 13, 2017 from 9:00-9:30 AM to 4:00 PM?
It was also said that BS brought (other?) home inspection papers from the office home later that day.
