There are so many people who live in the woods in Toronto, I can see their tents from the subway in the Don Valley and woods near Dentonia Park. I wouldn't be surprised to know that there are many people living in Colonel Danforth Park (in 1990). Thank you for the info. I'm not sure if the forensic activity at Scarb. Campus is what you described here,eyesonly, but it could be. I likely won't find out until Christmas.

OK Bernardo attacked a girl on June 20th 1989, exactly a year before Bain disappeared. Also, that summer of '89, he attacked others and one victim reported that he had a moustache.

Thanks for that link Matou can only skim right now but I note that two of the victims of SC said that assailant was 6 foot or over muscular and had a moustache.

Yet Van S. B's friend told LE Haney (sp?) that Bernardo could only grow hair on his chin.

I don't know if LE tried to match DNA to each victim but if anyone has evidence of that please post - I think they did not.

Possible relevance to Bain case and blonde man.

OK I just spoke with my relative and he doesn't think a current forensic investigation has to do with EB. However, the area being searched since early October is the wooded area behind the Melville Presbyrterian church on Old Kingston Rd and south of the baseball diamond. So close to the tennis courts and where her car was parked. I dunno. Apparently there were many many officers with several teams of dogs.

The parking lot in the valley...could it be the one on Old Kingston Road that is adjacent to the pathway. This would have her walking on the pathway there and possibly back to her car too. It is also free parking. Or is it the parking lot near the baseball diamond. Not sure if it is public parking or not there.

interesting area matou, that search area is absolutely in the possible area for EB, though with that kind of search, its either a recent situation, or LE has been provided some very good info,because if it is for EB there is no way they would be doing that kind of search unless there was a very very very good reason.
i will see if i can find out some more on the situation.

The problem with reopening an investigation after someone has been convicted and exonerated it that Law Enforcement, as part of preparing a case for trial, will very often go back and " clean up" the investigation so that loose ends can't be used by defense attorneys to "confuse" jurors. This clean up includes getting witness to "correct" their statements, "enhancing" evidence so that it is consistent with the theory of the crime or just "losing" documentation that can not be "fixed".

This is exactly what happened in the Christine Jessup/ Paul Morin case. The lead detective actually had two "official" case files : one with Everything in it and one with only information pointing to the prime suspect Morin.
