TORONTO – Toronto police are investigating the death of a child found in distress inside a hotel room at a Howard Johnson in the Warden Ave. and Highway 401 area of Scarborough Monday night.

Police say the child was taken to hospital where he or she later died.

The gender, age and cause of death of the child has not been released.

Not too much information released yet on this.

Toronto police said they were first called to a home in the east end around 4 p.m. and their investigation led them to the hotel.

Paramedics say they arrived at a Howard Johnson hotel on Metropolitan Road, in the Warden Avenue and Highway 401 area, around 7 p.m. and transported three people to hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Looks like the deceased child is female.

Paramedics told CP24 a young girl was found without vital signs in a room on the hotel's second floor. The child was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead. Two other people were also taken to hospital.

Evangeline is the name of the little girl. What a cutie.

While police have not released any specific information about how the girl was killed or how the others were injured, they are treating the case as a murder, attempted murder and attempted suicide.
