Found Deceased Canada - Holly Ellsworth-Clark, 27, Hamilton ON, 11 Jan 2020

Missing Person Holly Clark: Bring Holly Clark Home,
''Holly was last seen leaving her home on January 11, 2020, in Hamilton, south of the downtown area, near Barton and Sanford Ave at approximately 4-4:30 PM local time.

She was wearing all black, long-sleeve top, sweatpants and black boots. She may have a black backpack. Holly does not have her phone or computers.

Holly really loves running and biking outside, even in winter, and will often run at night. She spent a lot of time in parks, and on the trails systems, could have run a fair distance. She likes graffiti and probably knows some places to go see interesting pieces. She would likely be willing to break into somewhere abandoned for shelter and knows how to build debris huts.

Holly is a musician and an athlete, with a big, charismatic personality and a strong sense of justice. Although she was new to Hamilton, she was already building connections to local music and arts communities. Her connections with communities elsewhere remain strong because of her incredible spirit.

I wonder why they chose to mention that she has a strong sense of justice? There might not be an underlying reason for it but it seems like a random thing to mention. Do they suspect she's on a quest to seek justice in some form or fashion? And what would she be seeking justice for and/or from whom?

I think they chose to mention that because it implies she didn't go missing for criminal reasons. Just my opinion.

“The search for Holly Ellsworth-Clark continues as her family says they have found, for the second time, new footage of the missing woman walking in Hamilton the day she went missing.

The latest images have prompted police to conduct new ground searches near the city's industrial waterfront.

Elle McFearsin, one of the leaders of the search effort, tells CBC News says they found a combination of footage from dash cams and security cameras from Jan. 11 that shows Ellswoth-Clark walking "on a mission."

It's the second set of surveillance video showing Ellsworth-Clark found by her family in the last few days....”

Very encouraging- there are tons of businesses down there and there must be dozens of cameras that saw her. Hopefully they get all the images and find her soon.

I think its important to emphasize that even if Holly were experiencing psychosis - the "threat" of the two men she states were chasing her is very "real" to her. The fear and terror she would have experienced would have felt genuine. At this point, we can't rule out that she is hiding from the threat.

Exactly. This is why I thought she may not be contacting her family. Her fear is so great and so real, who knows what she is thinking and where she thinks the perceived threat is coming from.

I was down in the Barton/Wellington area on Friday and noticed that there were so many places where she could have taken refuge. There's a big junk yard in the area and open lots and Dofasco property.

The problem is, if she is still alive she needs to be getting sustenance somehow. How is she getting food and water? How is she keeping warm? I think she'd be noticed by now as she would have had to surface to care for herself.

I'm hoping she left the area and is found safe but I'm losing faith at this point.

MOO

I am just reading about the fundraiser now so I am a little late and the weather is not so good. I hope they have another one that I can attend.

Edit: not actually a new member just couldnt sign in for a prolonged time so made a new account. Been a member since 2010 and a lurker for even longer!

Welcome back!

My impression is the fundraiser was a show support of finding Holly but it financially benefited another non-connected non-profit. Holly’s family appears adamant they don’t want money collected directly towards Holly’s disappearance at this time, which I must say I admire particularly while hope remains that she may be alive and has left on her own free accord.

I’m on the fence about what’s happened here...some of the lyrics to Holly’s songs indicate her to be somewhat of a free spirit who’s seeking happiness within her true inner self. She may have had second thoughts about coming back to Calgary as it’s a place she already left. To some, going back home at the age of 27 can be perceived as a sign of failure. I still do hope for a positive outcome, that she disappeared in order to mentally renourish and regroup and I’m sure her family hopes for this too. And why putting a reward (ie ransom) on her back at this time would be the wrong thing to do.

It might be helpful to reveal little things about Holly, such as her food preferences.
A girl has got to eat, so would she be inclined to buy food to cook in a kitchen, camping food, or is she more likely to stop at fast food restaurants, health food stores, or veggie marts?
Is she a coffee/tea drinker, does she go to nice cafes or happy at TH's?
Does she smoke, drink alcohol, which brands?

For those who are not familiar with Hamilton, we often generalize it as "up the mountain", and "down the mountain". There is an escarpment you travel up to get from place to place, and in many areas along the escarpment, the homeless and drug-affected people stay in tents, canvas rigs, etc.
Reading about how much she loves the outdoors and such, I've been wondering if in her downtown travels she has met someone who lives on the escarpment and has escaped her current life to experience that for a while. Unlikely, but you never know. The same applies to some of the more rundown parts of the industrial section of Wentworth. There are a million nooks and crannies to take up residence for short times. Sadly, no one really chooses that lifestyle for positive reasons, so IF that is where she has been, hopefully she comes out of that funk soon.

Her brother has stated that she is quite anti-capitalist. When one woman posted that there was a chance she stood behind her at a coffee shop, he was adamant there was no chance of this.

Is there a homeless area/community (awful to type) that she could be taking refuge in? Is she supposed to be taking meds? Sorry if I missed it...MOO
