Two of the girls charged in the swarming death of Kenneth Lee will no longer have their case decided by a jury.
On Friday, Superior Court Justice Philip Campbell agreed to a request from the girls’ lawyers that they face a judge alone. Both are charged with second-degree murder.

Unfortunately I feel this won't be their last run in with the law. They will eventually do time in jail, it's just a matter of time.

THEY had their rights broken.

An Ontario Court Judge called the provincial government’s standards of routinely strip-searching youth in custody “troubling” as he ruled that two of the girls charged in the swarming death of Kenneth Lee had their charter rights violated.

One of the girls pleaded guilty through her lawyer to the lesser charge of manslaughter, but the plea was rejected by the prosecution and the trial is proceeding on a charge of second-degree murder for both.

i have been asking my representatives as far back as i remember to release photos of the youth who i may be sitting next to on the bus giving me a chance....but nono...we must protect their identity so in the future this could impeed them from employment...i also submitted to them the fact that the 13-14-15 yr old of today looks like nothing from my childhood,,,but who listens,,,NO ONE

So there's a trial by judge and it starts today. There's another trial by jury that starts in May, for the last two accused.

If they so far get probation for pleading guilty to manslaughter, what will they get for murder?

IMO Canada's justice system is on trial here..

And let's not forget that these "children" will be sitting in some teachers' classes and the teachers will never be told of their murderous past.

I can well imagine not. This is a miscarriage of justice. These predators will walk the streets, free to victimize again in future, thinking the justice system is a joke that they circumnavigated once and can do again. JMO recipe for disaster.
