Ground search and rescue members and RCMP searched into the night, working on foot and with drones and aircraft. Searchers are from units across the province.

Poor weather late in the night affected the use of aircraft.

RCMP are asking members of the public to avoid the work area so as not to affect search efforts, which also include canine units.

So looking at the map - yes, potentially. Could be a bit of a walk for 2 small children or could be close depending on where they are located
Could be marshy? Could be ponds?

Very rural, lots of woods. Could have been playing in the yard, wandered off, quickly got lost. I hope those kids are still together and not seperated.

bringing from @Palisades post above
SNIPPED:
She told CTV News when she woke up Friday, she heard them playing in the next room and she drifted back to sleep. She said they’re not typically the type of kids who would go outside on their own.
“We always make sure that we’re out there with them, watching them, and they happen to just get out that sliding door, and we can’t hear it when it opens, and they were outside playing, but we weren’t aware of it at the time, and the next thing we knew it was quiet,” said Brooks-Murray.
She said she and her partner Daniel then began looking for them.
“We get up and look outside. We’re looking everywhere, yelling for them, and I instantly just called 911. I just had the instinct I needed to call.

I’m not sure if we are allowed to share Facebook links to posts but the mother of the children shared a post by the page Nova Scotia Buzz about her missing children.

I WANT AN AMBER ALERT FOR MY CHILDREN! I WANT MY BABIES HOME! MY CHILDREN ARE NOT SHY TO STRANGERS AND WILL GO WITH ANYONE THEY DONT UNDERSTAND STRANGER DANGER! AT THIS POINT THEY MAY HAVE BEEN TAKEN! PLEASE SEND AN AMBER ALERT NOW!

The siblings were last seen Friday morning on Gairloch Road in Lansdowne Station, about 20 kilometres southwest of New Glasgow.

Search and rescue teams along with volunteers continued to look for the children on Saturday. Two helicopters and a drone are also part of the search.
The area where the children disappeared is heavily wooded, so they most likely got disoriented and lost. I hope they are found ASAP. I remember one case where a six-year-old got lost; he later told rescuers he heard them calling his name but didn't respond because he had been taught not to speak to strangers. In the end, he was found by a dog (who I hope got a special steak dinner).

"It's a huge wooded area with lots of potential, so we're just keeping all avenues open and ensuring we're covering off the area with a very structured search," said RCMP Cpl. Sally Rice.

Most of the people looking for the children Saturday are search and rescue volunteers, said Rice.

Rice said it is likely the children haven't been alone in a wooded area before.

"So, there are going to be lots of challenges for those kids," she said. "I would say that obviously any children would have challenges, especially in this terrain, right? It's challenging enough for our people that we have on the ground here."

She said the children may be afraid of adults. They may not understand the noises related to the search, like helicopters flying overhead.''
