''Where is missing Gravenhurst man, Justin Evans?
“The person who did it, you know who you are, please come forward:" Justin's father''

Family desperate to find Gravenhurst man missing since Dec. 12
''Evans was last seen wearing a grey winter coat, jeans and camouflage boots.

"Justin's never not had contact with us or gone missing before. We are very concerned about his whereabouts and if he's okay or not because he would never just disappear," Evans added.

The family says Justin left his wallet behind the day he disappeared.

The OPP is working alongside the Muskoka Crime Unit and the Forensic Identification Service to try and find the Gravenhurst man.

"He has no enemies that we've been able to find. He has no high-risk lifestyle factors, and as far as we know, there isn't anyone who would want to cause him any harm," said "Detective and inspector Matt Watson with the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

Anyone with information on Evans is encouraged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to leave an anonymous tip.''
“He has no enemies that we’ve been able to find.” Oh, I think they have, they just won’t reveal that at this time. JMVHO.

No respect, and you really don’t care that your friend is missing. BIG RED FLAG. JMVHO

According to 'best friend' Justin smoked pot regularly but not sure it's true. That doesn't mean he'd try harder stuff imo but he might have seen something he was not supposed to?

Perhaps he has health problems preventing him from driving cars?
I’m not sure I’d believe anything Justin’s so-called best friend is saying about him given the rest of the story he’s trying to sell. Not sounding all that credible. Besides, I know a fair amount of people that enjoy some pot and they haven’t gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Not implying that Justin partook of the weed. Just sayin’. Sounds like bf is trying to “blame the victim.” JMVHO

There was heavy police presence today and a couple csi trucks as well as under water search and rescue. One ambulance. Lots of police cars. This was in port severn area/white's falls road beside Big Chutes.
Lots of connecting rivers as well as land into nowhere there. Hoping it might be Justin..as sad as that is!! But then the searching would end.. haven't seen or heard anything on what's happened since.

Don't forget weed is legal in Canada....coast to coast like butter and toast.

You could look for a hundred years in some of these areas and never find who you are looking for. Big Chute was just up the road from where I lived.

Welcome and TY for this report! Have you seen/heard any more about this event? Also, where is this in relation to where Justin was last seen?

It’s about 62km from Muskoka Falls and Trailer Park to Big Chute. About a 50 min. drive. You would travel south on Hwy 11 to Burnside Drive (Regional Rd. 17) which will take you to Bigchute.

TYVM, @susiQ! I wish it would be possible to know the jurisdictions of all the police cars that were witnessed there. The American in me wonders where all the journalists were? Didn't anyone make a report on this event? Were there any reports yesterday or today of a missing or injured person in/around Big Chute/Port Severn? Ugh! I'm too curious, huh? :p:oops:

It's not easy to get to Big Chute from the Gravenhurst/Bracebridge area. The fastest way to get to Big Chute from the Gravenhurst area would be eastbound on Hwy 169, country road 38 through Bala over to the 400. Then southbound on the 400 then eastbound on county road 34 which is called Upper Big Chute Rd. It would also be the easiest drive in the winter.

Burnside Line is the extension of Orillia's main street and ends north of Orillia changing its name as it takes a hard right onto another road. I used to travel on Burnside Line over to Foxmead to get to Coldwater from Orillia to avoid Hwy 12.

The only proviso I would say which might have someone take the convoluted route to Orillia and back up 17 may be road conditions although the weather was mild here in December.

The only police forces that would investigate this is the OPP, the Ontario Provincial Police.

Missing Gravenhurst man Justin Evans investigation explores new tactics
Thursday, March 25, 2021

Snipped

“We’re utilizing some other resources from within the OPP to further it, from our behavioural sciences section,” he explained. Behavioural sciences include a statement analysis team, profilers and polygraph experts. In February, Watson told MuskokaRegion.com the case was awaiting results from “several items” sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for analysis. Watson would not comment on the status of those materials Thursday, saying he did not want to delve into the details of the evidence.

It bothers me too. I hope it’s nothing more than wanting to feel close to him. I believe the friends and family know Justin is not coming back, due to the shred being in ‘disarray.’

**All of the below is just clarifying and elaborating on a thought pattern. All of this is just suspicion and ideas. We don't know about Justin's cannabis use more than he allegedly smoked sometimes.

Saw a post earlier that mentioned a second shed and questioning what it might be used for, just want to point out that we'd had a pretty mild fall/winter up until that point and if he was using weed (which is super common in Canada now given the legality, he may have had a shed to hang out in. Plenty of college-aged kids in rentals will use the garage or back shed to hotbox or just keep the smoke out of the house, some people even have old couches/decor in them. If he was living in a trailer then a storage shed makes sense for items, and if there were multiple storage units they may have used one for smoking.

Will also say that Muskoka is not close to many dispensaries like we have in the cities, so I would assume a lot of the young people out there still rely on the illegally grown stuff. It would have been too cold to grow outdoors (without cover) but this area has a lot of overgrowths and it's deserted enough to grow weed. Not sure where he might get it from but it's possible he or his roommates knew some unsavoury people (dealers). They've been cracking down on grow ops this past year as well.

I also want to say, for those who may be unfamiliar with weed or how people use it, it's totally possible he "moved on" to different drugs, but for the most part, weed is not the gateway drug it's been made out to be. People use it medicinally, to sleep or for pain, or anxiety, or just to relax and have a good time (like having a beer at the end of the day). Most of the people I know who smoke weed regularly are not trying to do other drugs. That being said in rural areas there is always the chance that he tried something new and something went wrong.

--

I lean in the direction of him having an altercation with someone, likely his friend/roommate. You don't live with someone in a trailer-sized unit and not realize they're missing, much less so if they need a lift to work. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll know what happens until someone tells us. That area is far too dense and hard to navigate to find a body, and I don't think we're finding this guy unless he willingly ran away (always a possibility)

Yeah, I'm bothered, too. It bothers me that Bud kept and wore Justin's glasses, but I'm also bothered by all the things he didn't do while wearing the sunglasses. His inactions snuffed out any flicker of hope I had that Bud wore the glasses to feel close to Justin. Justin has a whole troop of family, friends and strangers rallying around his case. They are supporting each other in their efforts to find him while calling for answers from anyone who might know what happened to Justin. Where's this "friend" and what has he done to help bring Justin home? Why wasn't/isn't Bud leading the charge alongside Justin's loved ones and friends? Where was Bud when everyone else was physically searching for him? Why isn't he posting heartfelt pleas for help and answers? Where are the posts he's sharing and the prayers he's sending? Was Bud with them during the holidays when his best friend's family members were longing for Justin to come home? Did he spend time with or call his pal's sisters on their birthdays that passed soon after his friend's disappearance? Did "best friend" light a candle during the virtual vigil? Where are the photos of the memories Bud and Justin made during their life-long friendship? Where's the artwork Bud makes as he sits and mourns the loss of his best friend? What name did he give his new pug puppy -- you know, the one he might have gotten in honor of his "best friend"?

I could go on and on coming up with actions Bud could/should have taken, while wearing Justin's glasses, that would show he wants to feel close to Justin. No, I don't think Bud hoped wearing Justin's glasses would help him feel a close connection to his missing friend. A guy who wants to feel close to his missing "friend" would seemingly do much, much more than strut around in his pal's sunglasses. It seems to me that if Justin's "best friend" wanted to feel close to him, then he probably should have surrounded himself with those who love Justin instead of isolating himself with the only person known to have admitted her dislike for Justin. o_O IJS MOO

Thinking of the sunglasses worn by JE's friend, can not help but be reminded somehow of the book Catcher in the Rye. fwiw, imo, speculation.

''Holden’s fate seems linked to that of Castle, who happened to be wearing a turtleneck he borrowed from Holden when he died.''

In her most recent It's A Crime video focused on Justin's case, Linda discusses a couple of interesting developments, imo. BBM

1) As most of us might have expected, there was blood in Justin's shed along with it being in a state of disarray. :( In the video linked below Linda doesn't discuss much about the blood itself, such as whose blood, how much blood, whether it was wet or dried blood, etc., but she does bring up a good point about how no one who lived at the trailer ever called 911. Instead, about 4 hours after Bud supposedly checked Justin's shed, Bud's mom called Justin's grandmother to inquire about Justin's whereabouts. It was then that authorities were notified after Justin's mom called them to report him missing.

2) It's been confirmed that Justin and Bud worked their Wed night shift (Wed. 12am - 8am Thurs.). They supposedly drove home afterwards (20 min. drive). Later Thursday (12/10) Bud apparently called in to work on Justin's behalf to inform their boss that Justin would not be at work for Thurs night's 12am-8am shift. Linda dives really deep into the oddities surrounding the timeline of Justin's disappearance. She questions why Bud called in instead of Justin calling his own boss. She also wonders why Bud didn't mention this fact when he posted his FB explanation/rant. I may have missed it but I don't think Linda asks this question - What specific reason/excuse did Bud give their supervisor when he called in about Justin missing work? Why did Justin need to miss work? Was Justin ill/injured? Did he have plans to go out of town? Was he tired/angry/burned out/etc.?

Finally, I find it interesting that Bud's GF and her mom have commented and replied to others under Linda's previous videos, yet GF doesn't answer any of Linda's direct questions she posts in the comments. ;) I wonder the extent to which the FB and YouTube posts/comments (or lack thereof) are informing OPP's investigation?
