Human remains discovered in Huntsville, police ask public for tips

ETA -
"Someone who was out there reported it to us and it was a discovery of human remains," said Const. Jeff Handsor of Huntsville OPP. Handsor said it is too early to connect the discovery to any missing persons cases in Muskoka.

"There are people missing from Huntsville," he confirmed.

Huntsville to Gravenhurst ~35-45 mins from where Justin reportedly was last seen.

Millar Hill Road appears to be a dead end road that leads to nowhere. Is this a camera on the light pole?

Justin didn't drive and this is 45min from where he was last seen……
Didn't the time line on #itsacrime say Bud and Kiara headed north to pick up people before heading to Barrie?

uh huh. yep!;) They said they did on Saturday. I'd love to know if anyone assoc w/ Justin traveled northward anytime after his work shift Wed night/Thurs morning until the Sat. morning shopping trip. Linda @ It's A Crime makes a good point about there not being any statements or reports about Justin's whereabouts on Thurs. and Fri. except that he missed a party Friday.

I would not mix the Saturday shopping with this if it ends up being Justin, driving 50 miles north to dispose of a body then 90 south for an alibi?
Sure, anything is possible but it's not logical (then again, when has anything crime-related ever been logical)
Just my 2 cents FWIW.

I have a feeling the Saturday shopping was for an alibi and someone took him somewhere before that.. JMO

I hope LE has car navigation results and on all cars at the trailer and phone pings of "Best friend" and his GF by now..

Thanks for the link!

''Watson, the lead investigator on the disappearance of 22-year-old Justin Evans of Gravenhurst, said the two could be connected.

“Obviously we are investigating the possibility that it is Mr. Evans but we can’t say right now,” Watson said.

Const. Jeff Handsor of Huntsville OPP confirmed there are active cases of missing persons from the area including — but not limited to — 63-year-old Anthony Versteegen, last seen Oct. 3, 2020.

In October, the burned-out vehicle of Helen Sedo, 61, a woman last seen in Aurora July 29, 2020, was found near Huntsville where her family has property. On Sept. 23, her husband John Sedo was charged with her murder. Her body has never been found.

Because the time frame concerning the remains cannot yet be determined, Watson said, “We don't rule out anywhere in the province when it comes to missing persons cases that remain.”

Noting these Ws threads referenced in link about UID remains (will cross-post link)..
Deceased/Not Found - Canada - Helen Sedo, 61, Toronto (Aurora) 29 July 2020 *arrest*

CANADA - Canada- Anthony Versteegen, 63, Huntsville, Ontario, 3 October 2020

It seems both JE and AV were over 6ft! I hope they get the remains identified soon.

On Saturday, May 1st, there's an interview scheduled with KC, in which she will reportedly answer questions and speak of her experience with Justin's disappearance.

I don't know if our TOS will permit discussion of it, but perhaps @Sillybilly will see this post and clarify that for us? Thanks, SillyBilly.

Usually we will approve an interview with a major case player, but not always. As we aren't familiar with this podcaster, let's wait until the clip is available to see the content.

Would someone please either PM me or Report tomorrow once the interview is available and we'll check it out. It will probably be a go .. but no promises right now :)

Thanks !!

Yes, SillyBilly, I'll let you know, or someone else will perhaps before I see it. Thank you!

The above video with the Kiara interview is approved for discussion. This is a one-time only approval, so not a blanket approval for the podcaster at this time.

Thanks, Silly Billy.

It's a long interview with Justin's roommate, KC.

I wonder if we have a statement analyst or body language expert who will chime in about it?

Personally, I felt KC was well-rehearsed, but credible.

I'm only gonna go by what Jamie Wise, Justin's mother, said about some of her statements and point out there were some untruths in there (apartment co-signing, towards the end).
I'm not gonna venture to conclude that means anything in one way or another but it may be worth considering.
MOO.

I can't find historical weather data for the dates in question, but typically Muskoka is snow belt that time of year. Perhaps it was an exceptional year weather-wise. I'm very familiar with the area. The fact they were going to drive Gravenhurst to Barrie to shop tells me the weather must have been okay, but IMO it seems like quite a stretch to think that someone would have driven all the way up Hwy 11 and on out Hwy 60 to Millar Hill Road with a body in a vehicle when there are many other remote, bush locations much closer to Gravenhurst.

I don't think these remains will be Justin but could be wrong.

JMO

Sorry for the never-ending run-on sentence, lol
