"Ken Worth was in big trouble. He was used to being on the wrong side of the law — he was scheduled to go to court on a weapons charge the day he died and was also facing a robbery trial. This kind of trouble was much worse.

Ken, who had just turned 17, had run afoul of a “smash-and-grab” jewel heist gang he had been hanging with in downtown Toronto.

He ran into his brother, Gary, on Yonge Street at Maitland Avenue just a few hours before he was found shot to death in an East York park the summer of 1975. Police called it an “execution” style murder.

“He told me he had taken something from somebody. He didn’t tell me what it was. He said he had to get out of town. I just put all my money on a big score so I gave him what I had — 78 bucks — to get out of town,” Gary Worth, now 62, said. His little brother, only a year younger, never made it."

Ian Rosenberg was also the last person to see missing person "Crystal Elizabeth Van Huuksloot" alive. 7 months later he and his girlfriend were shot dead and found hours later in bed by their 5 year old son.

Ian was actually the loan collector/enforcer as well as a head loan shark for the Volpe mob. He is alleged to have killed Ken a year prior to Crystal's disappearance. She had approximately 3k on her in cash at the time of disappearance and did not know Ian. Instead she was in Toronto (from Edmonton) to secure a $12,000 loan to bail her drug dealer boyfriend (Stacey Harris) out of jail.

After not being able to secure the funds in a legal manner, Harris told Crystal to contact Ian Rosenberg. Ian told Crystal he COULD help her initially but after a week that fell through, so she asked him for a ride to the airport (pearson) so she could catch her flight back to Edmonton in hopes of getting the $12k back home. She never made it to the airport but Ian claims they dropped her off.

Police tried to use circumstantial evidence to say that James Bass killed Rosenberg because he was scared Rosenberg was going to tell police about what happened to Crystal. Unfortunately even with witnesses saying that Ian had asked James what he did to Crystal later that evening, and etc (many witnesses) - he was not convicted and was set free.

Ian, James Bass (who was charged but not convicted with Ian and his gfs murders), Stacey Harris (Crystal's boyfriend) and Kenny were all members of the Volpe mob and involved in drug dealing, racketeering, and jewelery theft.

It seems this guy Ian Rosenberg who was a Mafia enforcer, and who was murdered in 1977 had something to do with Ken´s murder. Here is an intereseting article with info:
