I'm glad to see others share my concerns! The performance of the Toronto Police has been absolutely abysmal. I always specify "Toronto Police" instead of the short-form "LE" when referring to TPS cases because I don't want to lump other LE agencies that have a good track record (e.g. Hamilton, Peel) in with the incompetent Toronto Police under Bill Blair.

There was absolutely no excuse for the investigator - Sgt Woodhouse - not to follow up on the phone records and conduct an interview with DM.

There was absolutely no excuse for not getting a subpoena and tracing the usage of the iPad in LB's possession.

There was absolutely no excuse for brushing off the concerns of the boyfriend just because he was not "family".

And it is not just the case of LB where we see this gross incompetence on the part of Toronto Police.

Toronto Homicide is only now opening an investigation into WM's death. Toronto Homicide is only now discovering that WM was about to be married. They are only now discovering that WM was on the verge of starting an exciting business that promised to increase his personal fortune. A simple Google search would have told them that!

On the surface it appeared that WM had every reason to live. Had Toronto Homicide done their job a big red flag would have gone up when WM was discovered dead.

If DM is responsible for the death of LB and WM then it can be said that failure by Toronto Police to investigate and arrest DM meant that DM was free to kill Tim Bosma.

Just noting that the article from the "The Star" linked above has a head shot of Laura I hadn't seen before, it's the clearest picture of her face I've seen so could be useful.

So, I just cant wrap my head around a young woman in her early 's just wanting to go off the grid. Especially after reading the interviews with her parents "Laura — a “social butterfly” — became restless under her parents’ roof.. I was one of those "social butterflies" and I did take of for long periods of time but always kept in touch with friends, especially the ones who were in to the clubs and bars, the "fun" ones. I don't know LB but IMO I just can't see a girl like her going off the grid.

I also seen her dad quoted as saying she wanted to be a 'free spirit'. I know what you are saying, but from some of the information I have seen, IMO she not only had mental health issues, but it's very possible that she was doing drugs too, one of those issues alone is bad enough, the 2 combined make people do things that they wouldn't 'normally' do. Unfortunately, when drugs are involved, anything is possible. I do understand what you are saying though I just wanted to point out that it is does happen all the time, especially if there are other issues at play. If her mental health was ok... and there was no indication of drugs, I would agree with you 100%.

I hope that she is found and she is still alive Maybe she will see some of the media coverage and know that 'someone cares' and feel ok with calling home.

just looked at the help us find laura fb page.... looks like the Aunt is posting again and that one of Laura's Uncles is going to be talking to the police to see what can be done to help. JMO but I wish these family members had been informed back in July!!!!!!

just looked at the help us find laura fb page.... looks like the Aunt is posting again and that one of Laura's Uncles is going to be talking to the police to see what can be done to help. JMO but I wish these family members had been informed back in July!!!!!!

Bosma case: Mom remembers DM picking up daughter

LB remembers Millard would come to the house to pick up her daughter — who started using the name Elle Ryan — for parties or to hang out.

But police never interviewed Millard in connection to Laura's disappearance, the Babcocks said. After the detective assigned to her file was reassigned, they weren't sure what had happened to the case.

"All this information was in their hands," her tearful mother said. "We don't know anything more than we've known since the beginning."

Hi, sorry I never replied earlier I worked today and had so much to catch up to... I don't know who exactly had asked about the number I linked and I'm still not sure of what we can and can't post, but there is a call to someone that I don't recall was mentioned so I can't say but that someone did work for someone who is linked to SS. If I can give a hint I did not do reverse search I looked for those numbers and where they are posted online. Another hint it works best for the 416 area code. If this is too much please let me know because I must admit I am terrified of posting something I shouldn't.

I am begging you, if you have a hunch or lead or any tidbit of information that might be useful that you don't feel comfortable posting here, PLEASE CALL THE TORONTO POLICE AND LEAVE AN ANONYMOUS MESSAGE FOR DETECTIVE JENNIFER CASH at DIVISION 22. I feel like based on what you've wrote, you know something that may be important. Please do the right thing and go to the police.

If I'm reading that properly... her last activity on her phone was calling her Voice Mail? Would love to know who left her a message? what did that message say? who was it from?

This is why I was hesitant to join this forum, as I am one of Laura's friends, and cannot stand the generalizations people here are making about Laura's family and friends. Her family has been extremely concerned the entire time, and just because you didn't hear about Laura's disappearance on the media, does not mean that her friends and family weren't searching for her. Her family and close friends have been involved since day 1. You are not in a position to judge the behaviour of a missing woman's parents and friends as I'm sure you have never had the situation happen to you. Laura is a wonderful person and has a wild streak. We all believed from the beginning that she may have left the country or area wilfully. Now, we aren't so sure.

May I add that those close to Laura have been doing a huge amount of work behind the scenes to attempt to locate her. Just because they don't post about it on the Facebook group, doesn't mean it's not going on.
