Could this scenario, be offering an indignity to a body? since they could not identify the body, maybe Micheal White did some things to her after her death, so that she couldn't be identified right away ?
Gruesome thought, I know, but it happens.

QUOTE]

... here in canada......( and perhaps the u.s. as well, i don't know..) but, 'offering an indignity to a human body' is classified as "moving the body from one location to another..."

...leaving the body out in a farmer's field for days ( IF that does turn out to be lianna ) definitely qualifies...

I'm interested in it too, but the outcome seems predictable. I wouldn't be satisfied with the end result. I might get lost in the Sharon Acosta case; there's a little more to work with as far as penalties go. I just don't know how much interest it will garner.

Creepy, isn't it? I can't imagine what must be going through their minds.
........o/t from the lianna case also but...
...the janet abaroa forum is an interesting place to be........

...brief synopsis:
...husband comes home ( april 26th) to find his wife murdered..
...LE says it was "not random"........no charges filed as of yet..
...husband is in court this friday on 5 embezzlement charges...
...husband is an 'interesting character' to say the least...
...his wife was murdered while the tiny baby lay in his crib nearby......
...IS raven guilty of murder ? come on over and help decide...:)

I'll consider you friendly when you stop stealing all our "u"s for your nefarious purposes. :D

You will get no argument from me on that one. He'll burn in hell eventually, should have been sooner.
..........very well.....then it's all good then....we're still friends...

...( and how can you continue to accuse me of taking all of the U's.......when you just used no less than 6 of them in one ( american ) sentence ?

Thank you for explaining that!

You learn something new every day :)

I really need to brush up on Canadian law, I actually know more about the American Justice system then I do our own!

Yeah, no need to get into a DP debate here, you know I can't miss an opportunity to tweak the Canadians I love (the other kind probably have me on ignore anyway).

There are those that say the DP turns the State into a killer. Adnoid's position is that LWOP turns the State into a gay dungeonmaster, and is that acceptable if the other option is not? Adnoid's final statement is that these people force the State's hand and deserve what they get - he has absolutely no sympathy for them. Could I do the deed myself? Strap Richard Allen Davis to the gurney and I'll pay California for the right - the HONOR - to do the deed.
..i realize this is not a dp debate...........so will offer my short and sweet opinion:

...someone kills another...
...CAN they be rehabilitated ? i guess.....maybe.....sometimes.....

...but...the person...( child....brother...sister...wife...husband..stranger...)who was murdered no longer gets to have a life...gets to LIVE...

...should the killer ? ummmmmmmmmmm..NO..
...they COULD have stopped short of murder......i don't really care if they can be rehabilitated to the point of running the childrens youth camp.........

...take a life............the kid gloves are off.........
...do i want my tax $$$'s paying for the murderers orange jumpsuit ? dinner ? no.

I believe in "an eye for an eye"

I hate that the perps have more rights then the victims! it's just not right!

I am not debating here, just stating my opinion!

i understand- i think everyone has been careful not to debate it rather to simply state a point of view which is totally respected btw

What I really like about this case is the family feeling on this thread..for me its noticeable-canada being smaller than the states and the majority of US folks not that intrigued by this case (from the small numbers of posters), but I feel like we are family here right now-and its been great to feel closer to my canadian friends because sometimes I feel like we get lost in the shuffle in a larger thread..and to bond a bit with the folks from other places that have shown an interest is really sweet too..it means something to me when others care about people missing from other countries.

newtv,
I'm in california and I am going to follow this to the end. Liana's photo looks so sweet and I feel for her and her little girl and the families. And the community. Also, after reading her job description from posters who work in the medical field and how close they work together, I feel so bad for her co-workers also. They must be devastated.

Also I got to feel like I got to know the posters from Canada a little better and it was good getting all the updates from you all. I booked marked the links you gave for CTV.ca and Google News Canada. Those will be a good sourse. thanks,
Montana

No joy. I'd be happiest if it never had to be done again. But I have to ask - is Canada a better place now that Karla can walk among your children again? If she rapes and kills another one of your daughters she goes back to jail - will that make the victim feel any better?
I knew joy was not the right word..and I have a bit different take on karla but i may be proven wrong-I am not sure about her whole role and I am not trying to start anything..just I wish the best for her-I hope she proves everyone wrong and makes something of her life-if she doesnt then we will know the truth for sure.
I just have a harder timebelieivng paul bernardo is her victim and thats how its being painted-a grown man saying he didnt want to kill the girls - karla did..I dont buy it and I am shocked that people will listen to anything paul says just to attack karla with it.
She obviously did very very horrific things - and that includes her sister- she just may not be the devil..but I dont want to start any arguing about it-its not popular to give her the benefit of the doubt-and I cant say that i blame anyone for that..

..........oh my gosh.......

...from lianna...to murder....to ( not ) debating the DP....to karla...

...NOT debating..............but the tapes kinda did it for me.........can't say that i'm as good a person as you are, and that i wish her the best now that she's out amongst us............

...i guess i'm glad that my daughters and i do not speak french daily, as do those in montreal where she has taken up residence...
...didn't trust her back then............still do not........

..............unfortunately............in canada.........following it until the end...means that once ( if ) he goes to trial, there will not be allowed any media coverage........we'll all hear about the outcome on the final day...

...( in the paul bernardo/karla homolka murder cases we "got lucky' ( so to speak ) in that some u.s. media got wind of it.....reported the daily news as the trial unfolded.............(.the canadian gov't was livid!)

...however..............2005.............internet forums......i do hope that edmontonians will attend the trial and report back!

well I might be very ignorant on this one-so please i dont deserve credit for being open..I guess I did not see the tapes or her actions so its hard to judge what was her or what was reacting to a man with control over her..but again- I am divided and would only wish the best for all of us by her doing well in life.

...i lived in ontario then...........(in the west now)...so we had a ton of coverage at the time...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karla_Homolka

...you wish her well etc..............and i respect your opinion......
...i happen to wish that she would also be serving life, along with paul......

...i don't believe for one moment that she wasn''t in the whole thing 50/50 with him...........she offered up her own sister as a GIFT to him.............

...as this is the lianna white thread...i won't mention karla again...( and get in mod trouble!).( you can research it all easily on google....dogpile....yahoo)

newtv, Holmolka is likely to offend again.. she is a risk to the public - a sex offender.

Buit back to Liana.... maybe we will hear the cause of death today? I hope it was fast for her and she didnt suffer. :(

I think he deserves the DP just for leaving his 3 year old home alone while he disposed of the body, went to abandon the car and go home.

What if his 3 year old woke up and saw him killing her mother or woke up all alone in the house?

SOB!

I think it's time for a Part 3 on this case - especially in light of new information developing (we hope).

The autopsy is being performed at 9:00am this morning Poco then it will be followed by a news conference where hopefully we will get more answers but I think we have most of it figured out- I second your SOB sentiments Lakergirl!
