I have read they have behavioral analysts. It just makes me curious whether such experts are well versed in the psychological impact of gaming.

I have a feeling those behavioral analysts have seen it all! Probably some pretty freaky stuff out there...

I noticed that Happy Birthday banner, too, and I can't even explain why, but it just made me so sad
Because it's a kid in a gas mask in front of a Happy Birthday banner hanging on gramma wallpaper. That juxtaposition is why it's SO sad...and maybe that he got the gas mask for his birthday. That is just sad too.

Yeah so true. :( A lot of Bryer's pics, even the disturbing ones, just make me sad because they're so painfully weird. For the most part, Kam's pictures, few that they are, are disarmingly normal.

But Bryer's just tend to be so odd, like the one of him in his nice suit, which would be a nice picture. But there's the random light fixture right next to his head. I can't figure out why he didn't just move over about a foot, so there would be nothing in the background but the wall.

I was in an army surplus store recently and got to talking about camo, it's different patterns worn by different armies and in which environmental conditions. Military people can figure out what war someone fought in by the camo they were wearing.
I wonder what war BS' camo was in.

Any military folk out there?

This camo was discussed earlier and I wish I could link to the posts but I have no idea in what thread it was.

Canadian Military wears CADPAT in 3 different colours. (They have different uniforms depending where they are serving. Green in Canada, a much lighter version if serving in Afghanistan.)

"In development for the better part of a decade, the pattern comes in three varieties: temperate woodland (TW), arid region (AR), and winter/arctic (WA). The temperate woodland pattern became the standard issue for the Army in 2002, with the Air Force following suit in 2004. Uniforms and equipment in CADPAT material replaced the olive green material in use since the early 1960s."

I'm not sure what pattern casual wear sold in Canada would have. I doubt it would be CADPAT but it's pretty darn close from what I remember.

My son had a casual jacket like BS when he was 8, so I'll see if I can find a post-able (non identifying) picture.

My nephew who served in Afghanistan mentioned this pattern knowledge over a Christmas dinner - the differences in patterns depending what country you came from. While serving in Afghanistan they were all eagerly awaiting new uniforms but when they arrived, they were in Temperate Woodland rather than Arid Region.

Ya, mistakes happen.

There was an "expert" early on who said something like they need the internet like they need food because of their age. I believe I actually did LOL.

Those pictures in general are really sad. Like there's the disturbing and Columbine-y aspect to it, but also something very vulnerable about it. Almost like a kid dressing up as their conception of what a "real man" is like or something. Plus then the juxtaposition of this very mundane domesticity with this sort of downward spiral into darkness that we know was taking place. It's almost like a metaphor for the case itself....

Yeah it's really weird how little attention to detail he paid to the background of all these photos. I guess that could tell us something...not a detail oriented person...could explain something about their decisions maybe?

Thanks for your reply. I'll do a search on WS sometime for the thread.

CADPAT is the digital 48-bit looking pattern?

These are all really good points!

It really does come off as if he is just so eager to show off whatever it is he is trying to feature and posturing with it--whether it is his airsoft rifle, his suit, or his gas mask--that he has absolutely no awareness of anything else about the picture. Whether it is his thumb in the way of his gas mask picture, all the random junk food that always seems to surround him, or the fact that he's just standing there in his socked feet with his airsoft rifle and camo rather than completing the look with boots.

Do you have a link to that info, please?

I do not. It's the presumed route shown on maps posted here. If you ask google to map Port Alberni to Liard Hot Springs, it routes you right through Fort St John, which is where site C is.

LOL I bet you're right about that. And if so, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Like he's trying to look like he's about to go out and kill a bunch of people (and sadly, ultimately did) but also doesn't want to disobey his grandma's rules by wearing military boots in the house. It's just a metaphor for the entire thing.

My friends and I used to shop all the time at army surplus stores as teenagers (used to wear wool sweaters, vintage WW2 cropped jackets, cadet boots with skirts, after all it was the 90s lol). I still like to go them once in awhile as they have good canvas bags.

Looks like there's Harreson's Military store in PA and Military Surplus store in Coombs (been there!), so he might've purchased stuff there or online.

This was the closest jacket I found similar to Bryer's and it's Digital Camo:

ETA - Bryer's pic to compare... won't let me paste ?

Yeah, I tried to find something similar in various places, but failed. One thing to note is that his outfit apparently came with some kind of matching accessory belt. The bulging pockets in this picture are not part of his jacket. It's quite an unusual pattern, it seems.

RCMP investigating photos of B.C. murder suspect, Nazi paraphernalia

While I was searching camo online there was a German Flecktarn army jacket that looked similar to Bryer's but the camo print didn't quite match and buttons were snap buttons not traditional buttons. His jacket looks to not be snap buttons.

Hey, that's great info about the stores. I don't think BS's is CADPAT though.

I know, I don't think it's a 100% complete match either. Bryer's has stitching/pockets(?) below the elbows on the sleeves.

The buttons possibly look the same and breast pockets, but I'm unsure of the camo pattern as well as I find it hard to tell in the store's pics. Bryer's fits weird, those breast pockets look so low to me.

I'm not sure any vintage/WW2 camo was ever printed that small? So I can't tell if it's modern or not. Will try to find out though!

Your screen name should be EagleEyes! Great detail.

Which pic are seeing the stitching below the elbows on the sleeves? You can really see the pattern on the right side of the pic, where it looks like the light is coming in from a window, in the pic I just posted.
