Likely no public WiFi at the camps and especially not up north but definitely at McDonald's. I mean, there might be a few public WiFi's but I doubt it. I travel from BC to Sask often and I rarely see advertised WiFi at our campsites and definitely not at the free ones.

There's free wifi all over the place in BC. Here's an interactive map from just 1 provider, Telus. In addition, many businesses and municipalities provide free wifi.

TELUS Wi-Fi Finder App

Also, I just randomly chose one campsite, and sure enough, "Free Wi-Fi" is listed. It's fairly common because it's something customers look for.

Obviously they were not expecting to be gaming the whole time, but they certainly could have got some gaming in from time to time. And maybe it wasn't about gaming. Maybe they just wanted to go online.

People I know with RVs take a laptop with them when travelling. If you don't own a laptop, then I guess you have to take your rig if you want some computer time.

your theory doesnt add up to the evidence we have, just one example they have been spotted, 4 times I believe (could be wrong how many times) in different provinces. This has been all over the news for days. I understand we're all speculating to some degree but come on now, at least read an article from last few days before posting paragraphs lol
We all know about how reliable this can be, especially when they are recognized AFTER the fact. So many cases where people think they've spotted a perp here or there, but then it was a false lead. If they were spotted, wouldn't there be security photo evidence of them as well? They would have needed to stop for gas at some point. We have lots of video of Fowler and Deese prior to them being found, there isn't anything of Kam and Bryer.
We haven't heard much about Fowler and Deese's murder either. What are the theories about how they were killed? What about the shot out back window, wouldn't that mean someone was in the van with them?

No reports yet of being close to the border. Finding a cottage isn't quite as good an option as it once was. People have security apps that let them know if there has been a break in.

Re security apps... Unless the owner has satellite internet (Xplornet), not out Lake of the Woods :)

Have a look at Lake of the Woods on a map.

I totally agree. And who know what else they're accustomed to using. If they can't find
ritalin, how about some Adderal? Or how about some home made meth?
Young users without a lot of cash will buy and use whatever they can get ahold of.
All the above are stimulants that hype you up.
Give false confidence, and impair judgement.
Yup, could explain a lot.

And chemically, very similar to the effects of noradrenaline. So, in search of that bit of mood boost, this pair found some very adrenalin-producing activities. It eventually wears off, although individuals vary a great deal in how long that takes and what the after-effects might be.

Similar to what meth addicts go through, adrenalin seekers will hit some real lows, their brains will adjust a little or a lot, and then they go in search of more of their drug. When unable to get their adrenalin fix (in this case, previously provided by gaming, no doubt) they become tired, irritable (very), and moody. Adrenalin helps mitigate hunger signals and pain, too, so now they're feeling grouchy, hungry, uncomfortable, etc.

The lack of confidence issue is very interesting. Instead of feeling invincible and in control, a person lacking their accustomed amount of adrenalin may feel defeated, self-hating and suicidal. However, in many cases (I'm basing this mostly on in-patient research), they aren't quite mentally up to the task of killing themselves. Having a gun handy (easy method) changes that, but every action can feel daunting. They may become sort of "catatonic" and remote and just want to lie down or stare into space.

as someone whose job produces this on a daily basis, it doesn't last long then you crash and its a big crash

a few hours at most maybe 5 if you push it. then you come off the adrenaline high and you fall back to earth, you get the most amazing nights sleep though because you are exhausted

Bryer Schmegelsky, Kam McLeod seen at Meadow Lake, Sask. Co-op store in newly-released video

Do you know much about the actual Rust game? What kind of survival skills do the players employ? Would someone who plays it a lot and then practices out in the woods be able to actually pick up useful real-life tips? Is there anything unusual in it that could be useful in finding them if they are out in wild and have managed to keep warm, dry, and fed?

In terms of being fed, they do cannibalism in the game.

Again, there was video footage of them, thats the footage of them that's been released... They were in Saskatchewan in the footage. They were also spotted in Manitoba by a gas station clerk, and LE has enough reason to believe they were in Gillam Manitoba at some point that there's been a full-on manhunt out there. And we have heard plenty on Fowler and Deese's murders... BC police said they were shot. I agree with sleuth3000, you're very behind.

I think they are thrill killers, like Dellen Millard and Mark Smich. There's no motive except to kill for the fun of it.

I also think that they are acting out a video game in real life. They don't need the computer to game, but to keep it out of the hands of LE who have already searched their houses, and to jive with their cover story of moving to Whitehorse. The parents would have thought it extremely odd if it were left behind.

I think BS is thriving on the adrenaline of killing and running and he may have been a bit of an adrenaline junkie, again like Dellen Millard. If he used Ritalin recreationally, he obviously likes that revved up feeling.

And when he runs out of pills, that could be quite a downer.

Exactly. I've never been a ready adrenalin producer, myself, and I have never become "addicted" to adrenalin, but it's really common. Many people manage it well (in fact, many professions depend on managing it well). But the crash is real. The Great Plan that was formed when high on adrenalin now comes crashing down and seems impossible.

That's why I think their cognitive skills (map reading, route finding, wifi finding, planning next crime) are probably very lacking right now. They need to take turns pumping each other up, and they need to do things (and perhaps they are) that produce that adrenalin. Like breaking into cabins or a huge long list of other things. The car-burning probably has many "reasons" behind it, but one would be to get the big rush. It would be interesting to know from family members what their overall activity and sleep patterns were like, before they left.
