The bigger question I have is why in the whole video does Kam Mcleod has his left hand in his pants pocket? Doesn't take it out, walks out with it in his pocket.
Didn’t notice that...I was watching the other one. I am going to rewatch the video.

I have thought that perhaps, it's not improbable, that they stopped to speak with Lucas and Chynna, and suddenly realized that these two were precisely the reason they themselves never got along in their world, and may never get along.

Two good looking foreigners, with money to travel, love to spare, obviously having had all the advantages so far denied to K and B ( in their way of thinking ) having the nerve to travel on Canada's highways, without a care in the world, while they have to scrabble for work, and food, with no heft up by parents, etc, . All the usual stuff.

From then on, it 's been open slather, nothin' to lose, and what the hell..
BINGO

I know they keep it locked up in the sporting goods section, but if they keep stock in the back, is that locked up as well? That's where my mind was going in regards to the ammo is them taking a box here or there from the back of it isn't locked up

There is a pretty safe protocol to how ammo is handled. It would come into the store addressed to the person who had authority to order the ammunition. That person would receive it in hand from the delivery service. The receipt is signed by both. Then the ammo would be counted, entered into a log and stored in the locked cabinet.

The log is updated with each sale, audited daily, and signed by an authorised person. If any ammo is missing, the RCMP would be contacted immediately.

The RCMP has inspectors who conduct unannounced spot checks.

Sorry my mistake...I thought they would have an internet page as well.

They do.

As for the alleged breaking news sighting -- I believe it's being taken out of context -- no new sighting.

The print report of same ABC /AUS broadcast (updated 3 hours ago) cites the video sighting released today by RCMP of Meadow Lake Co-op, and also the 2 corroborated sightings near Gillam reported by RCMP a couple days ago.

except KM lives in a mansion, on 5 acres, in what must be one of the most expensive areas of stoat lake which is the most expensive area of port alberni. And parents were helping at least KM. was his fathers truck I believe they were originally driving (and even if it was "his" I havnt heard of any work besides a few weeks at wal-mart so sizable family help seems not only plausible but probable.) Being financially jealous of 2 hippies in a broken down van makes no sense. Even if the couple had alot of money on them, appearances certainly wouldnt suggest that

I feel its in bad taste to post the address but they def have money
if you just look at the lake on google satellite and ask yourself "wonder which property here costs the most" the spot you look first is prolly their house lol

Acquaintance shocked Kam part of this -- not surprised about Bryer....

Searching for answers: Sense of unease lingers in B.C.’s isolated north as police hunt suspects in remote killings

“I’m so dumbfounded that Kam would be a part of this,” said the teen, whom The Globe and Mail is not identifying by name because of his youth and his concern about being associated with Mr. Schmegelsky. (The Globe conducted the interview with the knowledge of the teen’s father.) “If it is true, I’d be surprised about Kam, but I would not be surprised about Bryer. Let’s just put it this way, he was a little bit [messed] up in the mind.”

As of Friday evening, Mr. Schmegelsky and Mr. McLeod were on the run, subjects of a nationwide manhunt, and last seen in the wilds of northern Manitoba.

At the age of 18, 24 seems old. Did they really look at Lucas and Chynna and somehow identify with them, or were they just another old couple with an old van who might have some pocket money?

Yeah I'm kind of wondering if the proposed excursion up north to "look for work" was largely funded by KM's family, rather than whatever they made during 5 weeks working nights at Wal-Mart.

Just MOO.

Do we know if either of the fugitives smoked?

Kam has always been there for all of Bryers ups and downs in life. So emotionally they are brothers or more.

Funded in terms of a vehicle, I think so. Funded for gas and costs, that was probably out of pocket. At the same time, Kam's family may have assumed that they would be home soon - never expecting that things could go in this direction.

I wonder who fired the first shot.

It seems that Bryer has no siblings with his parents. Does Kam?

Yeah that's very possible. I'm wondering if they still gave him some spending money, though. Maybe expecting him to fund part of it through work but with some extra cash from them. I'm sure they just thought of it as, "Oh this will be a good experience for you but don't want you to run out of gas or not have enough to eat while you're on the road," never imagining that they could be funding a crime spree.

Like you, I'm curious who fired the first shot.

Going up north for work is pretty normal in any province. Higher wages. Northern allowance. But often does not turn out so great

Cold lake, AB and Meadow Lake, SK are 1 1/2 hours drive apart

edited: typo!
That is correct. July 21 - They got stuck on the trail in Cold Lake and were helped at approx 9:30am Mtn Time. They left. They were caught on store camera at the Coop in Meadow Lake the next day on July 22. The two towns are only 1.5 hours apart, so for whatever reason they didn't get far btwn Cold Lake & Meadow Lake. Then the push to Gillam and 70km north to the Fox Cree Nation area. The Rav4 was found there burning early evening of July 23.

hmmmm...
they took almost 4 days to make a 4 hour drive between liard springs (sp) and deese lake (sp)
a pattern perhaps?
Maybe KM is doing most of the driving after all?
other possible explanations besides just them dithering or being otherwise unsure of themselves?

My hunch was Grand Prairie to Cold Lake to Meadow Lake. Video is late afternoon July 21. Cold Lake guy claims 9:30AM sighting.
Whereas I feel they got to Prince George and headed south to cross into Alberta through Jasper to Edmonton and onward through Cold Lake. Too risky to head back up north toward Dawson Creek.

Thanks for that. Wasn't sure what the procedure was for Walmart
