Billy waited 45 minutes at the scene. No one said how long it had been burning. A pile of matches was left behind.

Pictures showed it fully engulfed in flames. It could not have been burning long before someone came upon it.

Do we know he was sheltered though? At least sheltered in the respect of supervision, I kindof suspect not. Even the nazi knife ritalin incident was when they were "camping near sproat lake"
I presume they were alone/unsupervised. Even if they were referring to KM 5 acre property still seems to allude they had plenty of time to themselves

Austin Grabish on Twitter

If military involvement was ok'd last night at 7:00 pm or so, seems like a bit of a delay for them to only get there at 1:00 pm the next day.
What's inside this plane from your link? Aren't helicopters usually equipped with infrared search and track equipment?

There are several credible on-line pages on Ritalin abuse that talk about what misuse does and the withdrawal symptoms.

I accept what those pages say.

The father said Bryer texted him on July 12 he told them they were going to Red Deer so he wouldn’t seem him for his bi-weekly visits. He said he assumed it was because they have relatives there (cousins?).

That big truck would have used a lot of money in fuel costs alone for the distances covered.

He said Alberta. One of the reporters read it. AS assumed Red Deer. I wonder if she tried to phone BS after that.

I would think it would be very hard to see Cameras on google maps. It looks to me like they have a camera set up inside the door to record people entering / leaving which would be a pretty standard set up. Usually the cameras are up higher but maybe its a space issue
Any gas pumps there?Might have been above those?

Dont think anyone is refuting absuing drugs has side effects. Think folks just cautioning others to not build up some whole drug fueled narrative on one throwaway comment from a peer about one of them using drugs once. An account that if I'm not mistaken was from last summer or before even

I’m just wondering how plausible it is that they found an abandoned canoe along Nelson River and were able to “get the hell out of Dodge?”

Unless they're expert paddlers, they'd be dead if they try that. The Nelson is fast and very dangerous. Expert paddlers who have loads of experience with the rapids find it difficult.

It appears the army has landed in Gillam from pictures online.

Possible irony.: the air force was supposed to assist, too. Wonder if they were sent from CFB Cold Lake. Wouldn't that be nice?

Do you think authorities will get to a point where they start sending dive teams into bodies of water any time soon?

I am on my way to Chynna’s funeral. She was one of my daughter’s best childhood friends.
Please pray for this grief stricken community.
Sending Love from

Police have confirmed that LD was shot too.
Do you have a link to the actual police report that says this? All I’ve seen is media reports, but I’m thinking they lumped the three victims together just for ease of their article. The reporting and consistency on the entire story has been more than a little sloppy at times.

JMO but RE: Ritalin/Adderall: I honestly don't think this is the impetus behind this spree. Has anyone ever done these? They definitely wouldn't send you into a rage or cause you to blindly commit murder. They might make you spend 6 hours being extremely dedicated to cleaning your living room. If anything, they could have been abused in order to stay awake and alert for such long drives. Perhaps psychosis brought about by going a good amount of time without any sleep.
Here's a good article explaining the potential problems w/ ritalin and Adderall abuse which
can be much worse when drinking alcohol.

And yes, there have been recorded violent homicides committed when using these drugs.
Symptoms similar to psychosis, schitzophrenia
and paranoid delusions are sometimes seen.

not unless they can narrow the area. as I understand it they are searching hundreds of sq km thats just full of lakes streams marsh bog etc. Needle in a haystack is an understatement

Search and Rescue is through the Canadian Air Force not the Army. SAR is most likely out of Trenton, ON, which would be the closest command centre.

I'd also like to know if either were ever prescribed ritalin or Adderal considering their
poor performance in school.
I know a middle class family near me that their
son's HS has many, many students prescribed
these drugs- for poor performance in school.
And the kids WANT the drugs, supposedly to
improve their scholastic standing.
And many parents go along with it and all it
takes is testing by a professional and Voila,
a prescription for the student.
then some students end up selling their pills at school.
My children went to an elite prep school. The trend there, by the majority of parents, was to have their children diagnosed with ADD so they would have the advantage of longer time for exams, PSAT's, SAT's, etc. These children would never be considered poor performers. In fact, they were at the top. My husband and I didn't follow suit. I'm sure many of the parents wondered what was wrong with us. Also many of my friends had children in the public school system. Class sizes were so big that it was hard to control so many, hence referrals for ADD and ADHD by faculty. I'm afraid Ritalin, Adderal, et al have been so widely misused.

We haven't even been told who the Rav4 belonged to. Why destroy a perfectly good pickup truck with a camper? And did they do that before or after they found Leonard Dyck. Lots of questions, not many clues to what really happened.

I've wondered if this whole thing started with a mistake or accident. The only reason I can think of that they would destroy, what we believe is a perfectly good truck and camper and contents would be, a) a likely mistaken belief that they could collect insurance money to supplement their meagre resources but few vehicles driven by young drivers are covered by comprehensive insurance because of the cost), b) to hide evidence but it doesn't really sound like that's a concern because bodies have been left in the open to be found fairly quickly, unless they happened to have some sort of accident and they believed there would be evidence that would implicate them. I've never read the police statement on cause of death on LD and have often wondered if he was killed first because they needed a vehicle or if he was killed by driver error and things fell apart after that.

It may also explain the 2nd degree murder charged, which by definition is not planned or deliberate.

I also wonder if the was the source of their firearm. I have read that he liked to go out and collect botany samples and if he had either been collecting in the bush or planned to collect in the bush, he bears would be a significant concern and a wise person would be protected but likely a limited supply of ammo. If the owner of the firearm needed more ammo, he would have simply walked to a store, produced his PAL and aquired more.

You can buy ammo but not guns. Due to laws and restrictions in canada its unlikely they bought or stole ammo from wal-mart, unless one of them had a PAL, at least thats my undertstanding from candian wal-mart workers and PAL holders

I have purchased ammunition from a Walmart in the area where I have a summer home in Newfoundland. A license (PAL) is required. The ammunition was under lock and key and a specific employee had to be called over. This Walmart sells air guns, but I have never seen it sell real guns. Walmart Canada does not show real guns on its web site.

In 2018, Walmart US, which does sell guns, decided to restrict sales to people aged 21 and over.
