You give a lot more credence to Fox than I do :)
Their hard news reporting is solid, especially when it comes to crime.

Political stories are different, but every network is heavily biased in that regard.

This is one type of story I would take at face value.

As an aside, I watch all the networks, and trust them for reporting accurately on stories like this.

So there is some disgruntled cop that resents being stuck up in the bush in the heat. Do they speak for all LE?

oh it must not have updated, only sillybilly's post was there when i posted

sorry about that, site seems really slugish today

but no press conference today? seems odd.. wonder what it is

wonder if its about pressing the next set of charges for Chynna and Lucas

If it was that high-level of information or updates I think they'd have an actually press conference as opposed to just a press release.

I think they meant just a regular joe citizen who doesn't care for the police.

The way Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News works, the “source” could be anyone who lives in Gillam :)

Does Fox even have a reporter in Gillam? Doesn’t look like it. The byline names a Fox editor and a reporter based in New York, and the story was compiled in part with material from Associated Press.

On the Fox site, the story about two American teenagers killing a police officer in Italy is getting more coverage, unsurprisingly.

I've noticed on other WS cases I've followed that Fox does a lot of reporting on missing persons and manhunt type crimes, so I've seen them cited many times. Some areas have better reporting than others and that is all I will say except don't read the comments on any of the articles if you don't want to get upset about the current mindset of society!! MOO

That’s the issue. We don’t know who this person is, how close they really are to the investigation, or what their angle is.

That’s why I’m not giving it much thought.

i am not 100% sure to be honest, since the press conference where he spoke he has been very quiet, there was lots of media when he flew out and landed in Canada but since then not a whole lot

they might be waiting for a flight to get lucas home

i get they weren't married but i find it sad they wont be laid to rest together, its hard when both families live in different countries
Exactly what I was thinking. They looked so much in love and I believe they would always have been together. I understand the families wanting them close, but I also wish they could have been together.

I certainly understand what you are saying, but regardless of where their physical bodies are laid to rest, I choose to believe they are together again now, and will be, for eternity.

I figure it went like this:

“Hi, I’m calling from New York. Yeah, the Big Apple, civilization. <modsnip: political reference> Put me on to someone close to the investigation. There’s a cop on your street? That’s close enough, you’re going to be a great source. Here are some leading questions so that I can give my story that Rupert Murdoch “touch” ...”

:)

Interesting stuff on the last thread.

Do we have any info to indicate these two have accessed gaming sites since they "disappeared"?
This makes me wonder if they had planned to meet up with some of their online gaming participants "IRL"...

I went to Chynna’s funeral today and it was both gut-wrenching and beautiful. Her favorite flower was the sunflower and the front of the church was filled w them. Chynna was an amazing young woman who lived all four seasons everyday. She was funny, caring, and always danced liked no one was watching.
PingTheRouter, you have not offended me but ty for your consideration in asking. I think it’s best to always conduct ourselves in a manner that leaves no doubt as to our intentions, and I have found that most everyone on this site does so. I don’t consider myself a “lurker,” but rather someone who desperately wants justice for two two people that were incredible, and for whatever relief their capture or deaths may bring in the form of closure to their beautiful families.

They say “a source close to the investigation,” so its likely someone with some degree or inside information.

You reach out to enough people, someone is bound to talk to you.

This doesn’t add much though to the overall picture.

Just catching up, but yes, someone is bound to talk, especially in a small town! IMO

It could very well be that someone did help them, maybe even unknowingly at the time, but are not police friendly and they don't want to cooperate. This "story" of someone driving them out of there has been hanging around for a few days, I read comments on the RCMP FB page about it the other day. As for getting the info... would be easy enough for any news site to reach out to some of the people commenting and tweeting that are locals. Again JMO.

Wreath placed where Prof Dyck was found, a beautiful spot overlooking Stikine forest.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/brit...vancouver-death-wreath-quietly-laid-1.5226788

Since the body was left in such a prominent spot, visible from hwy 37, I am now almost certain they wanted him to be found quickly, just like Lucas/Chynna on Alaska Highway.

But they thought that they had removed ALL identifiable information from these victims.

They thought LE would take many days to know their names, and would have to show sketches to the public.

In the ongoing search for the suspects, RCMP officers have started to canvass every home in Gillam & Fox Lake Cree Nation. In addition to the canvass, they are also thoroughly searching every abandoned home in the area – over 100 cleared so far. #rcmpmb
