Hmmm, not really expecting this one.

By foot, by canoe, by plane? Someone has to explain this to me.

By car maybe? It’s about a 3 hour drive from Gillam.

Apparently the two communities are linked by train tracks. 62 km but unable to confirm accuracy on that.

someone said in an article they could easily cover 62 km in a day, they may have done it over several days to keep a low profile possibly even only traveling at night or they could have got on the ferry somehow

Or the river.

Also, there is a ferry between the two communities as well, from what I understand.

If this is them, I think it's more likely that they followed the tracks. I think they would stand out on a ferry.

By Google maps it's about a day and a half walk to York Landing headed west. Totally possible they've been taking their time and staying hidden. Here's hoping they are apprehended tonight without incident!

If you are in google maps you can search "Thompson to Gillam train" and you'll see the route. You can also see hydro lines on google maps. They could have followed the train tracks part of the way, and then the hydro lines right to York Landing.

You can see the RR tracks if you zoom in on this map. Relatively close

Oh York LANDING, I was thinking it was York FACTORY, to the east on Hudson's Bay, at the mouth of the Nelson River.

York Landing makes much more sense.

theres some information coming about saying we should get a confirmation its them soon, i hope so this could be the end of this manhunt

The Chief is asking everyone to stay inside...lock house and cars. As on his fb page

For sure. Two gigantic, white teens would stand out on that ferry.

James Favel, executive director of Bear Clan patrol group, said two of his members spotted two men who looked like the fugitives at York Landing near the garbage dump around 4:15 p.m. today. #canadamanhunt #canadianmanhunt

RCMP Inspector Kevin Lewis said they are aware of the reported sighting from Bear Clan and said police are on the ground in York Landing and more are on their way. Whether the two men are the fugitives is still unknown. #Canadamanhunt #canadianmanhunt

Does anyone know if this is a garbage dump with food or strictly junk? I'm just curious if they were searching for food scraps.

We've spoken to York Factory First Nation, who say York Landing is on lockdown as RCMP descend on it. Apparently, B.C. murder suspects Kam McLeod + Bryer Schmegelsky have been spotted "in the vicinity."

No!

That witness was probably describing Derek W., the fugitive from US who crossed into Manitoba. Derek wasn't at the van either.

Let us all forget the arguing man with short dark beard. RCMP did, for good reasons.

Is there any reason why we should forget about him? Has anything been made public that should lead us to think so? If so, please share it.

Oh I so hope they are apprehended tonight with no other innocent lives lost, so our Canadian friends can sleep easier!

One was wearing a grey sweater, as per CTV.

I wonder what has made this tip/sighting more credible or worth looking in to than the other 200 tips received

This is their most likely route.

Tried ambushing a driver while pretending to hitchhike, didn't work, so they walked the railroad most of the way to York Landing
