A report above said they were running erratically. Exhaustion surely, and who knows what they have eaten along the way. Hoping they give up.

Why run if you've got no gun?

I try to not be a man of faith, but my gut says these guys are not armed.

It is far more likely that Chynna and Lucas were murdered by the man seen arguing with them and making gestures right near their van late at night (11.30pm?)

That's not 'far more likely' at all since it's not confirmed to be an argument. We still don't know who that person was or the type of interaction that was had. The RCMP have reasons to be preparing charges against KM and BS for that, and they have reason to have charged them in Dyck's death. Reasons we are not privy to.

My dad told me that bear attack victims always complained about the smell of rotten meat on it's breath
They mostly eat berries but OK lol.

When the Mounties get their hands on them, there's gonna be h*ll to pay!

Actually, I don't think that the cabins have a lot of food. There wouldn't be a fridge. Stuff freezes in the winter. Mice get into everything. There might not be much food in the cupboards. Probably some salt, and maybe a jar of rice.
Oh okay. I had been under the impression the cabins were left stocked with supplied for people who happened upon them. Would they not have non-perishable food then?

I wondered if their game plan was to get to York Factory and then try to sail Hudson Bay to land somewhere in upper Ontario/Quebec. It would have been crazy, but then so is murdering people IMHO.

I wrote about the "Back to Reality" YouTube channel, where a couple from Ottawa travels all over Canada in a camper van.

They went by boat to a small island of Hudson's Bay, that belongs to Nunavut.

The shore is Waskaganish or Fort Rupert, just 10 hours drive north of Ottawa.

Do these guys want to be famous rebels (in their own minds, and in whatever fan club they attract) or dead?

They deserve their infamy.
They will not be taken alive.

Not great weather to be outdoors overnight. Expected low for Thompson is 7°C/45°F, rain and possible thunderstorms, clearing overnight.
Maybe the suspects will get a bad case of hypothermia.

Is the lower pond the sewage treatment area, is the treatment station between the two sections of water?

I'm not sure, I was just asking my hubby and he says they aren't very big sometimes and that's if they even have one. On the left, you can see the square lake areas, he thinks those are sewage lagoon's. But water/sewage treatment buildings could be anywhere and are not that big. (I know small towns where they are in the middle of the town).

Non perishable food is often left in outpost camps, exactly for the purpose of providing provisions to someone that happens upon the camp, typically in winter. It is a generally accepted practice, certainly in northern Canada where it’s waaaay too easy to die in the bush

They purchased $20 worth of gas at Split Lake, and drove to Fox Lake, almost end of the road.

Then they burnt the vehicle in a bush, using a lot of gasoline, probably thinking all DNA evidence will be completely destroyed.

You can see the three locations here - looks like a 7 hour drive from Split Lake to Rav4.

Also, same article mentioned that BS' dad "couldn't afford to attend for very long as it wasn't a government program."
My comment is that I am:
- not sure if mental health services are the same in BC as they are in Alberta however there are many low- to no cost services available for people experiencing mental health concerns.
To be fair I live in the same city as BS dad, and if this is where he tried to get mental health help, it isnt so easy. We have a pretty over burdened system, if you dont have a doctor, you are at the mercy of walk in clinics, where you generally wait 2-4 hours to see a doctor for less than 5 minutes. Waiting lists to get a personal doctor are years long. A lot of people "fall through the cracks" and we do have a rather large population of homeless people who are mentally unwell, and perhaps also didnt have proper access to the resources they needed/still need. It's sad for sure, you can tell he is a troubled man and that definitely seems to have trickled down to his son.

Probably not the most popular thing to say here but in looking at photos of Bryer when he was younger, he was just a sweet little kid. It always makes me wonder what went wrong to make him take such terrible turns in his life.

MOO

This newspaper is reporting the direction they ran limits their escape options out of the area:

Northern B.C. murders: RCMP descend on York Landing after suspects spotted scavenging

"Kalenhcuk said the pair would be trapped if they hadn't managed to escape the dump area. Their choice to escape, he said, would be to take a winter road back out of the area or swim from island to island in the Hayes River which enters Hudson Bay not far to the northeast."

They'd probably find something, but certainly not enough to sustain two hard working villians.

I don’t think that these guys are desperados. I think that they are arrested in the morning without incident and start reading about themselves in the newspaper and watching themselves on the news and YouTube.

For them, maybe a better life than working at Walmart. Can you play video games in prison?

Thanks so much to both of you for clarifying! Makes sense. Maybe enough to nibble on but not enough to truly camp out there and hide indefinitely.
