MSM source? When were those other two charges made? First or second degree? A bunch of us have been on here all day - haven't seen that.

I was thinking about the suspects playing at wilderness survival. If they have a water filter, or purification tablets, dried food, and some kind of grease to mix with mud for insect repellent, they could travel fast and light.

That would certainly change my perspective on this. However, their involvement with Fowler and Deese never made much sense to me, other than a botch robbery or Random meet up that went seriously wrong.

Kat Eschner reports that the two men spotted by Bear Clan Patrol, the community-based policing group, appeared to be wearing the same clothing – Schemegelsky in a camouflage jacket and McLeod in a blue T-shirt – that they were pictured in six days ago in CCTV footage from a hardware store in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, according to News 1130.

When the men were spotted, they ran into the trees, according to members of the Bear Clan Patrol.

Do you have a link to the report of that? I have never seen them charged with murder of the couple, only listed as suspects? They were charged with 2nd-degree murder of Mr. Dyck.

Co-Convicted are never usually placed in the same Institution...at least in the Federal Pens in Canada.

Does each province have more than one federal pen? Because...if not...they may end up in two different provinces, right?

@otto and @Estrojane, Got it! Thanks so much as I think I can see it all properly now. Trying to figure out how the 2 suspects reached this location from Gillam. Was it a combo of train tracks and water? Or, did they get a ride part way and then just walked the tracks?

Because some people may refuse to accept that he is not the murderer, even if he just wanted to drive them to Fort Nelson.

Ignoring that he exists is weird and if there is a court case, I am sure the failure to consider him as a suspect or to work to exclude him as a suspect would be questioned.

To be fair I live in the same city as BS dad, and if this is where he tried to get mental health help, it isnt so easy. We have a pretty over burdened system, if you dont have a doctor, you are at the mercy of walk in clinics, where you generally wait 2-4 hours to see a doctor for less than 5 minutes. Waiting lists to get a personal doctor are years long. A lot of people "fall through the cracks" and we do have a rather large population of homeless people who are mentally unwell, and perhaps also didnt have proper access to the resources they needed/still need. It's sad for sure, you can tell he is a troubled man and that definitely seems to have trickled down to his son.

Probably not the most popular thing to say here but in looking at photos of Bryer when he was younger, he was just a sweet little kid. It always makes me wonder what went wrong to make him take such terrible turns in his life.

Does Canada have to extradite criminals captured from one province to another as in the States?

No. There was a Canada wide warrant for their arrest. They'll simply be trucked back to BC to face charges there.

Wouldn’t it be something if the car being torched was totally unrelated? Maybe they ditched it and someone else took it totally unaware of the situation ?
I’m in Manitoba too, no where near this area, but last summer we had a string of car thefts where the thieves would torch the vehicles when they ran out of gas.

Okay, first...I'm sorry, but did you even read that article? It does not state they have been charged with all 3 murders.
Second, that is not really a legit source of information.

Second degree homicide doesn't sound like "accidental" running over, does it?

I can honestly see how so many murders in Canada have been swept under the rug now, I want to know WHY the police have had nothing to say about the man seen arguing with the couple, and WHY, after all this time he has not come forward or been tracked at all? Or has this question not been approved either?

I've noticed in high profile cases RCMP keep things very close to the vest (or is it chest? lol I never know) to not taint potential trials and taint potential juries. It's happened a lot. For all we know, that man may be a future witness or unimportant.

After following a couple high profile trials in Canada I was shocked beyond belief the heinousness of the crimes because during the live pressers and while stories were unfolding in real time RCMP gave no details or indication how bad the crimes usually are. It helps prosecutors build their cases. I think that's why they're so quiet here.

I should have read more carefully before as I thought/assumed there was little doubt. Lesson for me. I hope this ends with no bloodshed.
