Vehicle decals being distributed
Approximately 500 decals had been printed by Monday with most having been handed out to family and friends of the missing city woman.

Ray said the local companies are also making large billboards to prominently display Lloyd's picture and information. A transport truck featuring a large sign is also being parked near Highway 401 so passing motorists will see her face.

Ray said discussions have also taken place with the City of Belleville in a bid to have the decals placed on city vehicles.

OT, but may Marie Roberts from St. Thomas, ON R.I.P.

That poor girl and her family.I feel so much for these cases.

I am however happy that the man who is responsible is locked up already.

My thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time.

Now that's scary! LE usually downplays everything to keep everyone from panicking! I live fairly close to Belleville. Yikes My heart goes out to this woman's family, hopefully she will be found safe.

SNIP:
"The O-P-P are considering the possibility the disappearance of Jessica LLoyd of Belleville could be connected to crimes involving women in the Quinte area.
Sergeant Kristine Rae says they include the unsolved murder in late November of Marie France Comeau of Brighton, and assaults on two women by someone who broke into their homes in Tweed last September."

Police say warning wasn't meant to instill fear

Kim Charlebois, executive director of the Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District, said staff discussed the police warning Thursday morning.

"We were actually happy that, if there is a concern, police actually brought it to the community," she said. "We were pleased that the police actually suggested that women be aware.

"It would have been nice to have had more information about it, but a couple of the things they suggested were good ideas."
Charlebois said she knows police can't release all the information they have about a case, adding the warning must be warranted because such alerts are issued "very rarely."

Police looking for links in Jessica Lloyd's disappearance

"In Ontario there's a system that all police services use which is called VICLAS, the Violent Crime Linkage Analysis System. There's power case management and there's major case management... Those are all analytical tools for police services to use to see if there are any similarities or links to other crimes in the area," Rae said. "Due to the fact that we do have some other crimes in the vicinity of Belleville, we're looking to see if there are any similarities."
"At this point, all I can say is I cannot jeopardize the investigation," she said. "Any information that we are able to release we will as soon as possible. We are asking the community to report anything suspicious."
