I feel for the victims that were assaulted and who live to tell about it today. I don't blame them one bit if they all go after a civil lawsuit. We don't know Jane Doe's financial background. I can imagine that she has lived in hell since the attack, now with all the detailed reports of each B and E and every assault and now the details of murders, I cannot imagine what her life is like today. She would feel that she came so close to death herself. How does JD get to the point in her life where she can get past this, how does she get up in the morning to go to work, has she been able to yet? Can she pay her bills? Will she lose her house? Will she be able to trust anyone again? If you put yourself in her shoes, would you be able to carry on a normal life, going to work, paying your bills??? Call it blood money or not, I hope she wins the lawsuit. Perhaps she sees this as: RW took everything from her (trust, sense of security, etc) and now she possibly has a chance to take something from him. Even if MEH looses her house over it, this will still hurt RW as he did state that he didn't want his confession to hurt his wife. Winning the lawsuit is still nothing compared to what RW took from JD, but at least it is something. It will not ease JD's pain, but will help her out with whatever she needs help with. RW needs to pay for his damages! Afterall, WE the public are paying for his floors!!!! All I can say is JD, if you are reading this, YOU GO GIRL! I hope she wins the lawsuit against the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬!

Don't forget that she is a mother. Ask any psychologist if a psychologically damaged mother will pass on that damage to her child. There is plenty of research showing the impact of a depressed mother on the developing mind of a child. Was that RW's intent: two for one?

Lianne Elliott:
Det. Insp. Chris Nicholas, the lead OPP investigator on the case, says it is necessary for the court to see the video confession, no matter how difficult it is to watch. "It's so the court, and people 25 years from now, have a complete understanding of what this person is all about," he told CBC News earlier today. He also said the public should ultimately see some of the video too. "I think the public has a right to know what's taken place in the court, but it's up the media to broadcast that if they see fit and it's up to the public to watch it, but it's certainly there for those who wish to but those who don't. [They] certainly are not forced to."

Q: Let's get back to the issue... Does he want to be seen as a cold-blooded psychopath or someone who cares?

A: my only concern as to perception is for my wife... And the impact this will have on the Canadian Forces.

RW: I am concerned they are tearing apart my wife's brand new house.

Amber Hildebrandt reports: "Williams tells the officer he is concerned about his wife. 'You talk about perception. My concerns from my perspective are what my wife must be going through now and the impact this is going to have on the Canadian Forces ... I'm struggling with how upset my wife is now.'"

Amber Hildebrandt reports: "Then Williams says he's concerned police are tearing apart his wife's brand new house. There are shocked gasps from the court audience when this is heard on the tape. As we take a brief recess, the courtroom is buzzing."

[10:31 AM]

Smyth asks Williams, “What do you want to do? There is only one option.” Williams ask, “What is the option?” Smyth replies, “I don’t think you want the cold-blooded psychopath label. I don’t see that in your. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m fooled. I don’t know. This is over. You can have a bad ending, where Jessica’s parents continue to wonder where their daughter is lying. There is a huge search underway. It will continue.”

Williams can be heard sighing periodically. His arms are still crossed, he is looking at Smyth, who asks again, “What are we going to do?” Long pause. Williams barely moves. He sighs. Looks down, emotional. Smyth asks again. “Russell, what are we going to do?”
