I have found a number of British articles referring to him a little differently than the Canadian articles....

"The married father-of-four was detained at a police roadblock in Belleville, Ontario, in late February, not far from the house where a 27-year-old local called Jessica Lloyd had been sexually assaulted and strangled by an intruder a few days earlier."

Father of four? Huh? Must be a misprint.

I'm so glad you posted this! I found the exact same article on The Mail Online this morning and it was removed by the time I went to get the link! The Mail's article also referred to him as a "married father of four"!

Found it here:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/wor...rolific-lingerie-thief-sex-murders-women.html

Seems as though one media outlet got it wrong and the rest are simply repeating the same info...

And, for shame, here is another:

I think it might stem from this article:

http://news.suite101.com/article.cfm/col-russell-williams-faces-82-new-charges-a231875

It makes reference to another man, who's affliction for lingerie was somewhat similar.....

"But not all those who steal women’s underwear are non-confrontational. In 2009, Luke James Colless, a 32-year-old father of four was convicted in Australia and sentenced to 25 years in jail for sexually attacking 11 women on a bike path. It was noted that he began to steal women’s underwear at the age of 11."

I wish people would proof read before they print!

Nice find Flip :thumb: and pinkeyesucks :thumb:! At first I thought the same as your husband, but now I think there is something more to it. I'm trying to make a summary based on some of the reports we have seen, and as you have also noticed, something doesn't add up. This is a work in progress, and based on articles and maps posted by the media; it might contain errors and will appreciate everybody's input to correct any mistakes. So here is what we know so far:

Police said the charges date as far back as September 2007. The investigation is continuing,

(Snipped for brevity)

Very impressive work, Hazel. So much time and effort! Thank you. Unfortunately, this all makes my brain throb. I'll leave the math up to others, as it's not my forté.

Kudos! :)

great reads you people are finding.. I have a link to OH&S site with a picture of MEH but I am not sure if I can post it on here...

He’s also accused of a break-in on New Year’s Eve in 2008 and another on New Year’s Day. On Feb. 14, 2009 — Valentine’s Day — he’s accused of an attempted break-in.

The bolded occasions are times when you want to be with loved ones, I guess using his jogging excuse to take some time away from his wife on these days. RW's jogging route must not have taken him to far from home! http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/802107--police-paint-portrait-of-a-chilling-stalker?bn=1

I'm pretty sure he did all his break and enters at night and wonder if he sneaked out of the house after his wife was asleep. If she woke up, he could always claim he couldn't sleep and went for a jog. Or perhaps he locked his (empty) office door and had her trained not to disturb him while he was in there. Maybe they had separate bedrooms?

Just speculating here.

Wondering about this:

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/ottawa/story/2008/06/04/ot-body-080604.html

And wondering if that body found on a path in London, Ontario this spring has been identified.

Don't both of these links relate to Ottawa, not London? I don't recall any unidentified female bodies being found or any missing young females in London in the last few years. (Not that I can't be wrong on that!)

Police are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains in a woodlot on the Oneida First Nation.

Oneida police and Middlesex OPP's crime unit are investigating, but few details are available.

Police could not immediately say how the remains were discovered Wednesday around 2:40 p.m. in a woodlot on Iroquois Rd.

An anthropologist has been brought to the scene to assist with the investigation, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 519-652-5875, Middlesex OPP at 1-888-310-1122

The bolded by me makes me curious if RW lead them to these remains. I cannot think of any other reason why LE would not be able to release info on how the remains were discovered??????

The gender of the "human remains" found in London was not released at the time: http://www.lfpress.com/news/london/2010/03/22/13312741.html

Has anyone from the area heard anything more? This was around the same time a body was found on the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River.

Human Remains Found in Thames River in Strathroy-Caradoc
AM980 News, Canadian Press
Foul play has now been ruled out after human remains were found southeast of Strathroy over the weekend. Strathroy Caradoc police Sergeant Mark Campbell says a person was walking along the Thames River on Saturday when they came across the remains and called local authorities. Police says further DNA matching is required to identify the remains. A name will not be released until next-of-kin has been notified.

Actually there have been some Snoopster ... just can't come up with the names right now. I've seen it discussed on various forums within the past couple of years, and there was talk about them possibly being related to the Bandido/biker activity in the area. Now that i think of it, I believe it was in the Victoria Tori Stafford forum last year.

Beats me how they can find a body on Saturday, don't even know who it is yet, but rule out foul play by Monday.

The remains were in the water according to the second report, but the first report said they were alongside the Thames River. So severely damaged that gender could not be determined initially? Then foul play was ruled out in two days or less, over a weekend.

The coroner in London is very efficient.

What if there was evidence of a large quantity of drugs in her system? I believe there are toxicology tests to determine that quickly even in a badly decomposed corpse. Hair, especially, retains evidence of drug ingestion for an extended period of time. I'm not familiar with this case, but that was the first thing that sprang to mind.

I'm not sure if this is the same case (in London, Ont). In the Comments someone says the victim was a woman; I'm a bit confused since there have been a few of those discoveries lately.

- Fraser River
- Welland River (Niagara Falls I believe)
- Thames River (woman floating in river 2008 ---> link http://www.londontopic.ca/article.php?artid=9639
- Rockport ---> link http://www.recorder.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2508128

here is the link for the London, ON article = http://www.lfpress.com/news/london/2010/03/29/13390966.html

Also, did they find this man? ---> http://www.trentonian.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2498019

Hazel, I came across some more cases. This one you've already read:

June 4, 2008: Half-naked woman found slain near a bike bath in Britannia Park, Ottawa; age 39.

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/ottawa/story/2010/04/12/ottawa-kosmack-reward-slaying.html (see sidebar articles)
http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=bfc13ea1-9b6a-489c-80a4-22c2c5509991

I initially mistook that incident for this one:

May 4, 2008: Woman, about 30, found naked and injured in Carlington Park.

http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=7733a3bc-540d-4041-b250-cff0eb9786c6&k=41960

There you have it. Exactly one month apart, both in parks. Then on March 3, 2010, this incident in Gatineau:

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/Woman+critically+burned+Gatineau+Park+mystery/2634227/story.html

That particular time of the month is rather dangerous for women who enter parks anywhere near Ottawa. I'm not suggesting that all murder cases everywhere are related. Parks are dangerous. Strangely enough, the victim in this case in Etobicoke is 28. Is this some kind of target age?
