Williams has stood up and is no longer sitting in his chair in the interview room... His yellow coat remains on the back of the chair.

His voice can still be heard telling a more detailed narrative of his attack and abuse on Jessica.

As the video continues, in court watching and listening, just a few feet behind Williams, is Jessica' mother an brother.

They look straight ahead.

Others in the gallery hold their heads, wipe their eyes.

There are sniffles heard.

On the video, Williams returns to his chair and the detailed description of his sexual abuse continues.

"I raped her... I took some pictures. I took a lot of pictures."

"I was there for three hours I think."

Aha! My question earlier this week is answered. Previous reports had them finding JL's body at 1:33 (IIRC). There were no mentions of when and how LE and RW left Ottawa for Tweed. So, it seems he told them the location at approximately 1:30, they then drove to Tweed, where he physically showed them at 3:47 a.m.. Much clearer now.

(Side note: This also contradicts earlier rumours here that (a) JL's remains were found on a golf course, (b) that a local led LE to her, and that (c) she was found shortly after midnight. Indicative of how unreliable rumours can be.)

I think you mean "news reports". As you know, rumors are not allowed here at WS.

This just doesn't make sense to me. Why then didn't he kill the second assault victim. Am I missing something??? I've always suspected that Comeau recognized him but that didn't come out yesterday, did it?

It was reported yesterday that the assault victim did not recognize RW because his face or her eyes were covered the whole time. Apparently, at that point RW was not afraid of having the assault crimes traced to him. But once MFC was involved, the combination of the photography and her connection to the military forced him to kill her. After her death, LE would not know that pictures had been taken of MFC to connect her killer to the assaults. They might suspect a military member, but make no other connection. I can see his sick reasoning here.

Williams says that any other attacks involving photography in the assaults would "draw a straight".

Q: why did you kill Marie-France?

A: I was pretty sure she was serving military. It would be difficult for investigators to ignore that connection.

Q: how did you see Jessica?

A: I'm just always keep my eyes open.

BBM. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a statement from a man who worked with MFC for years. Not only did he know her, and work directly with her for years, he was her commanding officer. He also used his authority to access her personal information, as we have seen in the statement of facts from the court proceedings.

MFC must have recognized his voice.

No, I do not mean news reports. Allowed or not, these were posts by a WS member on JL's forum. I'm not going to post links to them.

EDIT: There were no media links, but presented as personal knowledge.

I tend to agree with you Summer.

At his Tweed house, he laid down next to Lloyd for two hours but didn't sleep much. He's not sure if she was asleep. She was still bound

Lloyd told Williams she had seizures before and said it was due to the stress. Williams said he "stayed with her and talked her thru it"

When they woke up, Lloyd had a seizure. He got her dressed.

Can you provide a link that confirms they worked together for years, I don't recall ever seeing that. TIA

11:50 TorontoStar: Dan Robson reports:
One of the lawyers who represented schoolgirl killer Paul Bernardo 15 years ago believes Russ Williams made a deal with the Crown to plead guilty in exchange for not being declared a dangerous offender. The Crown clearly plans to have this wrapped by Thursday, possibly Friday, John Rosen says. A dangerous offender application could take months. They won't bother, he says, because the two murder charges trump the dangerous offender status. It's a 25 year sentence for Williams either way, and he's likely never getting parole after that, Rosen says. He made it clear he's speaking as an expert observer and has no inside information.

But will his DNA go on file? Dangerous offender status is an important consideration. What's a few months, given the years that were taken away from the victims?

CBC:
Amber Hildebrandt reports: "Williams tells police that Lloyd was tired. 'She lied down because she was obviously exhausted. I put a cover over her. She went to sleep for an hour or so. I had told her earlier that before I let her go, I wanted to take some pictures of her in her underwear.' He tells police he also made video of the sexual assaults, along with stills and that there is video of Comeau as well."

The colonel tells Det. Sgt. Smyth he slept for a couple of hours the night he kidnapped Ms. Lloyd. That he felt under great stress.

How do you know she had them before?

"She told me... she felt it was from stress."

What happens when you wake?

"She had a seizure. She felt it coming on. She had some before. It lasted quite awhile."

He says they both had a shower, and went to sleep -- Jessica tied and bound, Col. Williams not.

"I put tape over her eyes from the beginning."

I think that he had been her commanding officer for about six months.

This is why I cannot believe that he has not committed other crimes prior to his arrest. His only concern seems to be his wife. I think he has confessed only to what he believed they had caught him on and on what they had already told him they had told his wife.

MOO

Hi PP, It's great reading you! Haven't seen you in awhile. :)

I read on MSM when this guy was first arrested or became a suspect, can't remember which. The story was on MSN or FOX, I am sure. There was mention that Col. W. owned a residence in Wrightsville Beach, NC, a vacation home where he visited to fish. IIRC there was a panty thief in WB a few years ago. Alot of college kids attending UNCW live in WB. I will research local news archives to verify the panty thief stories and years when it occured.

Does anyone here remember the MSM news story early on which states he spent time in NC? I will email the local station but wish to have my facts straight before I do. I would greatly appreciate any help as I haven't followed this thread and could not find thread #1.

Also, thanks to all of you diligent peeps who are keeping us updated on the hearing.

He would have known Marie France as flight crews are a close bunch and even socialize when on a trip overseas..he is a liar..she was under his command and he would have access to all her records etc.

There is no need to spend more money on getting a dangerous offender status when RW will never leave prison alive. He is about to receive a life sentence (with chance of parole after 25 years). The reason the Crown has been so diligent at this hearing to give all the gruesome detail, is so that the parole board will have all this information on his file when the time comes for his first parole hearing (25 years from now).
